The Bug List! v.2

"The quest items will no longer be quest items when you complete the quest related to them"

This is not entirely true, SOME quest items will revert to normal, others never do. Briarhearts are permanently stuck in my inventory after completing the White Phial quest line. Every necklace I have picked up since declining to sell the necklace from the murder solving quest is stuck in my inventory as well. Weapons and other assorted items that can stack are also now permanently in my inventory, such as the quest items used ina few of the dwemer ruins to open doors etc... I currently have about 200 lbs of stuff stuck in my bags. I had a huge stack of Briarhearts I had been collecting and by accident picked up the entire stack when retrieving one from my stash to give the quest guy, now all Briars are unusable, cannot be dropped, cannot be eaten, and any further Briars I loot only add to the stack and become stuck.

Something that really irks me, but is not really a bug: The Berenzia stones weigh .5 lbs each, yet I am going to have to tote them around until I find all 24. Sooo not cool. I hope they leave my inventory when I finish finding them all !

I just discovered a new problem in my game: My arrows are now invisible.

I can see my character go through the motions of knocking and drawing, but no arrows are visible. I can still shoot mobs with them and they seem to work like they should, but I cannot see them at all while firing, or looking at mobs I filled with arrows, nor can I see them on the ground to pick them up when I miss or they bounce off. This happened after shooting at a bear from far off. I missed the bear on the first shot, and as I moved to get closer 2 dragons appeared and landed between me and the bear, one on my head. I fired my next shot into the dragon that was on top of me, things sort of flickered and I was no longer in the dragon and I could no longer see my arrows. Reloading did NOT correct this problem.

I can see my arrows when I go into a house. but not when I go outside.

I am having trouble with this "I can't get the Word, so I can't get any new Word locations from Arngeir. The dialogue option doesn't even appear."

Not only can i not learn the last word to complete "The horn of Jurgen Windcaller" But i can not complete "The Throat of the world"

When ever i talk to Arngeir, he just says, " come inside....." So not only can i not complete the main story line but i can not get the final shout. Was there not mean to be a patch to fix this problem?

I found an object belonging to one of the Gods, took it to the shrine, did the quest line, and happened to find a word wall right next to the shrine. Mind you, about 20 steps from the shrine. Thinking this was lucky for me because it was in an easy location, and I assumed since it was next to the shrine then it would be entirely appropriate for me to get the word off the wall as a reward for getting to the shrine quest in the first place, I went ahead and got the word.

Lo and behold here now 4-5 days later and who knows how many hours/completed quests into the game I get a note telling me to investigate the source of power at the wall next to the shrine. I can stand in front of the wall, the word is lit up and streamers are flowing from it, all the usual sound effects and chanting, but I never get a word from it and I am unable to complete the quest.

I have since learned not to get any words from any walls unless specifically told to do so. I have come across several walls that gave me identical words that I already had and activated.

I know that words progress, but in these instances they are not adding to a word, they are giving me original words I already know, so I basically get absolutely nothing for all the work I did getting myself to the walls in the first place.

I should also mention that my husband finds different words at the walls I have been to. For instance: the Aura shout was down in the place with the crown for me, but he got Fade2 instead. I had fade1 when I went, so it seems to me I should have got Fade2 instead of Aura. I have not really looked into this, but it seems like the words are random rather than fixed to each wall. We have only come across a couple of walls that had the same words for both of our games.

Did the quests in riften to buy house. Returned after breaking up skooma trade, talked to jarl, bought house, bought all furnishings, talked to jarl, became thane, went house and no Iona. Had Lydia as folliwer entire time. Have zoned in and out if house, slept in house, and Iona never shows up. Awesome. It is really no fun saving game every 5 minutes just in case you run into a bug.

Hello,

another bug:

my keyboard setup is so that I use R to move forward and F to move backward. The item deposit key unfortunately also is on R and can't be remapped.
Before patch 1.2 this was no problem, since the Numpad 2 key could be used to deposit items into a storage, too.

Since patch 1.2 (PC) the key Numpad 2 doesn't work anymore, making Skyrim unplayable for me, because I can't deposit items any more.

Kind regards.

While in the area of the meadery , I noticed that the Nirnroot under the bridge downstream , and also the one upstream , are both still glowing even though the plant has already been harvested . I'm not sure if this is a worldwide glitch , those are the only 2 I've noticed so far .

This is game-wide for me. The glow bubble around Nirnroots never disappears. I have picked well over 70 Nirns, and everywhere I go I still see glow from where they were when I picked them. Also, depending on the weather, I can sometimes see the bubbles very far away, especially if I am on top of a mountain. The 'glow' is more like a stadium lamp that can be seen from miles away and is almost blinding up close.

Spoiler
As a side note, after some debate with some of my Skyrim buddies, we have confirmed that there are more than 30 of the crimsons. They are just not all easy to locate. This quest so far is not bugged, but I have heard several people tell me that there are not enough to pick to complete it, and they were convinced it was bugged. This quest requires some meticulous searching in some sneaky places. My total as of now is 34 found.

Alright i don't know if this was caught yet but...
1. still having loading screen freezing along with some lagging time to time.
2. After beheading a enemy there head becomes invisable.
3. (SPOILERS ALERT) After completing the Companions group and being there leader. Finding the broken sword can not be repaired.
4. (SPOILERS ALERT) After completing the Thieves Guild and being there leader. All the special stolen items like the Gray Fox marbal head can't be given to delvin because he can't accept it.

One more thing before I crash for the night:

When I did the Bards College quest for the Ceremony, the main guy never dropped the torch, he even sleeps with it, flaming, in bed... Everywhere he goes he is still carrying the torch. I cannot complete the quest to investigate the College because the arrow is stuck hovering over torch-mans head. Somehow, between investigating and attempting to solve the ceremony problem, the game hung up. I was able to complete the ceremony, but the Bards quest lines are done for me until I can move forward with the investigating. I am not sure if there are more quests as I do not use a strat guide, nor do I look up game info on the net, I like my game bare-nekkid and raw.

I am also one of the lucky people with the stupid instruments forever stuck in my inventory...at least give me the ability to use them if I have to take them everywhere I go, wasn't that the point of joining the Bards College?

I may just be missing out on that part because I CANNOT PROGRESS due to being stuck on the investigation quest..

This is only one of several quests I either cannot complete, or that never removed themselves from my active to completed log.

Also, I do not know if this is normal, but I have multiple quests that disappeared after completing them. The quests are simply gone with no record of them in my completed log.

I came across a few more oddities!

1. I killed a dragon and it sank into the ground. Were it not for its tail sticking out, I may not have been able to loot it.
2. While out wandering, I saw a red dot and went toward it. It ended up being a fox of all things. Were that not bad enough, a troll was in the same area and wasn't at all hostile. I even stood directly in front of it.
3. I can confirm enemies randomly disappear upon death. You can still loot their invisible corpse if you know where they fell.
4. Once I ran between two deer (who were initially fleeing) and they immediately went hostile toward me. Never noticed it before the patch. Is it natural?

I've never before played a game where I've delayed myself from progressing due to a fear of game-breaking bugs.

Okay I figured out what caused bug of Iona not appearing. After I bought house, I did not immediately talk to jarl to become Thane. So, if you buy house, then go check house, then go back to jarl, the jarl does not make you thane.

I reloaded, did quest again, bought house, talked to jarl and she made me thane. Iona was in house after this. So, the bug is if you zone out of keep to check out house before speaking to jarl and becoming thane, you will not get the dialog option to say you bought house that leads to her declaring you thane.

Technically this isn't a Iona not showing up, but a bug becoming Thane of Rift.

He actually does have a role in the story, one involving a horse named Frost, and he should be located at the Riften inn - not outside the stables of Whiterun. That's really weird.
Your right and im not suprised I forgot about that, luckily I had already completed that quest so no idea what he's doing outside whiterun lol, thanks for that info.:)

You can add me to the bandwagon on this thread.

Important bug fix needed:

If you finish the quest of getting different bloods of elves (to recreate a dwarves blood or whatever), you give that to the guy and he enters a square dwarven cube and inside is a book of unlimited knowledge (or something like that).
after you get the book and exit to the outside, you can read it and it will increase many stats for you to level up and get perks. after you read it, the book disappears.

Well, the bug:

after you read the book and get the stats upgraded. drop the book (press the square button). exit the menu and the book doesn't disappear, but is on the ground. you can now pick it up!

Great job compiling this list. I looked it over and didn't see this one

http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1300833-how-my-items-can-be-stolen/

mentioned. It seems there are a few other people noticing the same problem. Apparently items you give to your companions to hold are sometimes flagged as stolen when you take them back. The problem seems to arise when they decide to equip the item.

3. I can confirm enemies randomly disappear upon death. You can still loot their invisible corpse if you know where they fell.

I can also confirm this, although it happened to me before patch 2.01. No doubt it's still about though.

When I saw it happen I immediatly loaded a previous save (it was only a minute or so since the last autosave), killed the guy again and he vanished again. Tried once more to be certain and yes he vanished again. Maybe it's specific enemies? Although this was just a generic conjurer so I dunno.

I don't recall it happening to me since though, so i'd say this is a rare one based on my own experience.

Edit: Also just wanted to say congrats to Olafpkyou and everyone else who's posting for keeping this going :celebration: . Really quite the list we have going here, at least Bethesda has a comprehensive list to help them make Skyrim the best it can be. :foodndrink:

Ok, now I cannot read dragon language to absorb new shouts. At least, not with the shout by meridia's temple. I will report back when I find another one to see if this has broken my ability to learn ALL shouts. This may be because I have already absorbed one of this particular shout (elemental fury) and I heard that it can bug now if you do not absorb them in a certain order.

I realize I was unhelpfully vague earlier when I said I had experienced half of the bugs. Here is what I am experiencing in addition to the ones I mentioned earlier:

- Frame rate / performance issues still remain, takes longer to start happening than pre patch

- Textures STILL not fully loading from time to time

- Resistances in general seem to have no effect anymore, Magic, poison and disease (mage type NPC's and dragon breaths damage not being mitigated - vampires now get poisoned, werewolves now get diseased)

- Bookshelves broken, can not take books off them

- Armor stands STILL not displaying armor properly

- Issues with placing and removing weapons from weapon racks and cases.

-overall decrease in graphics.

- Shouts causing frame rate issues and brief lock ups (namely ice from)

- Memory isn't being reset properly after you load up a save after dying. (shop keepers have same amount of money after reloading)

- Dragons failing to give up their souls after death.

- A lot more unstable game (more crashing)

- Blessing of Talos not properly giving players 20% reduced shout cooldown. Instead, it gives 0%

Sneak attacks randomly fail even when you are properly hidden and even when an enemy has his back to you.

- Random dialogue with NPCs will pull them in or out of buildings you're entering or leaving.

- Game wide quest problems when getting quest items "too early"

- Many Different quest items not being properly removed from inventory after completing quests (Rjorn's Drum, Pantea's Flute, an Orichalcum Ore, and the Glenmoril Witches heads, Finns Lute, amulet of talos - gallus' encoded journal margret's journal

- Frequent Crashes on autosaves

- Frequent Crashes shortly after using WAIT function

Hi all! New around here, pleased to meet everyone, probably!

Just recently signed up to the Bethesda boards specifically to see if anyone had experienced this particular issue...

The Quest:

TENDING THE FLAMES - first quest for the Bards College in Solitude; pertains to the burning of Old King Olaf ritual

The Issue:

Upon completion of the quest the official game guide as well as a multitude of other sources have specified that you receive a monetary sum (i received 750 Gold, to be exact) and unique Perk called GIFT OF THE GAB - except, you don't receive it. At all.

Anybody hit this issue?

Or have i been duped out of a free (and in my opinion, a very much wanted) Perk?

Game crashed a few times last night. Here were the instances:

1) Killed a dragon and while the soul was absorbed

2) Fast traveling 2x crashed

3) Activating the "wait function" caused at least 2 crashes last night.

P.S. Great job at keeping this compiled Olafpq...

Had a few new game crashes during the auto-save. Go into menu, auto-save pops up...gets confused, PS3 freezes. Has to be re-booted.

Yeah I can turn off auto-save, in the meantime but hey, worth bringing up.

Wasn't hit with much lag before, and NOW it's finally starting more. File still less than 5.5MB too ( only one or two quests marked as 'active' at a time)

I'm not sure if this has been stated or not (as I have not searched all eight pages of this thread) but my save file seems to have these bugs:

The miscellaneous quest "Visit the College of Winterhold" is permanently stuck on my quest list. I was interrupted by a dragon while Mirabelle Ervine gave her tour and it caused the tour to never finish. Since I've completed the college now, I'm unable to finish that quest. Her speech option that I need just isn't there anymore.

The quest "Shalidor's Insights" points me to Wolfskull Cave. Upon reaching the item to retrieve, you'll find the arrow points to the ground but nothing is there. The in-game map shows the arrow point outside of the play area (in the blackened parts).

I cannot get rid of the three musical instruments from my inventory you receive from the Bard College quests. I realize this one's been said multiple times, but I figured might as well add to the list of users with this problem.

The two A'kari prisoners also reside at the front of Whiterun. Unsure if this is suppose to be a glitch or not...

Two of the quests from the Companions (radiant quests) I could not activate. Totems of Hircine and Dragon Seekers (and yes, I did finish Glory of the Dead and A Blade in the Dark.) My quest log only contains the miscellaneous quest "Talk to a Companion to receive work" (or something like that) and when I do talk to them, they give me the first line of quests (Animal Extinction, Trouble in Skyrim, etc...)

Another one I've seen and can add to is the "Blood on the Ice" mission. I've entered and exited Windheim four times (as the guide suggests) both during day and night, but still no quest. I'd have to say I've entered/exited the hold at least fifty times by now.

I also can't seem to get rid of the Attunement Sphere from my inventory. I am unsure if it'll be needed for a future quest, so I'm not actually adding this one to the list quite yet. I still have yet to finish up the Dark Brotherhood and the Civil War quests; but other than that, all quests are completed (at least all the one's the official guide lists.)

I can't remember anymore off the top of my head. I'll check my save file later tonight to see if there's anything else I might have forgot. Also, thank you Bethesda for the patch. It made my 15MB save not so laggy. Two thumbs up for the patch and the great game.

I noticed something else fishy about mannequins that nobody seems to have mentioned yet. It has only happened to me once. I found the two mannequins in the Riften home mysteriously floating in the air and displaced several feet from their stands. They appeared to be hanging from the ceiling near the doorway to the enchanting laboratory. Upon revisiting the home, they were back in the correct spot.

Of course, I still can't put any armor on them because this turns them invisible.

I am expieriencing the following bugs with 80+ hours in game:

- LOTS of crashes (Prior to the 1.02 update I only had 1 crash, i was 15 min into the game. Never had another. Now I have 5 or more . . . cant remember exactly)

- House items being "thrown around" (Lydia I only blame you because I think its funny to imagine you throwing stuff after I leave with another woman follower.)

- Random NPCs popping in my house to finish a comment.

- Talos blessing giving a 0% bonus (I assumed there would be a quest to increase it somehow)

- Talos amulet stuck in invintory

- One disapearing necromancer after death

- Having to activate conversation choices multiple times

- Lag after extended play

- Long wating times between switching weapons

- Guards not accepting my surrender durring combat (once attacking they have NEVER stopped no matter what I do or how high my bounty is)

Those are most of them. I'll post more as i come to remember

Just one last thing. When you pick pocket someone and add things to there invintory they start attacking you? Whats up with that?
