The Unofficial Pokemon Thread No.Nine

Nidoqueen and Nidoking are amazing. My Nidoqueen is one of the prime reasons I was able to beat the elite four and the Kanto gyms. It's up to 53 after beating Blue, but it's got a choice scarf with Earth Power, Blizzard, Thunder, and Surf. It has weakness to common attack types, but its movepool is just so good.

But Psychic (the type and the move) is just everywhere. I really would prefer Earthquake to Earth Power too...but that TM is so rare. Besides, Starmie already has Thunder, Blizzard, and Surf. There are few pokemon who can't learn those moves. :P

Maybe I ought to try to get a Piloswine/Mamoswine instead...

Edit: And I'm still not using my old powerhouse Gengar. He's so powerful in the normal game, but I just get insta-bored the second I think about Hypnosis/DreamEater/ShadowBall/MeanLook. Same old same old.

Mine has a higher special attack so Earth Power does more than Earthquake would with it. Learning all of those moves is pretty rare. Starmie is one of the best OU pokemon partly because of its amazing move pool. :P

Anyway if you want a physical Nidoqueen I'd do something like Crunch, Earthquake, Superpower, and Stone Edge. But you have other choices as well.

EV training is boring by virtue of being EV training. That's why I don't bother with it. It's also one of the many reasons I lose every battle.

You shouldn't have used Earth Power on Charizard, that really hurt you. On a different note, why the heck did my Salac Berry not activate?! That really ticks me off!!!

Damn, I really feel like battling. But I don't have money for a DS that's just going to be obsolete in a year. Ah well... maybe I'll buy the second version of the 3DS that Nintendo will announce the day after the 3DS launches.

Yeah total brain fart. I forgot Charizard was immune to ground attacks. Wouldn't have mattered though. Crunch wouldn't have been able to knock it out.

I've been noticing the berries not activating too. It's annoying. I keep wondering if other held items like Magnet, Charcoal, and such have any effect in these Wi-Fi battles.

Seriously! I bred my Charizard to have the right amount of HP to make the berry activate when I use substitute, then belly drum. If the berry doesn't work, I'm usually screwed...I just got lucky against you.

No such thing. I'm coming to terms with the fact that I'm just a horrible trainer. Winning against me is more like natural law I think than it is luck. :P

Nah, you just need to Ev train your pokemon, it's not that hard.

That would be a nice change, but I don't think that would make people use it more.

A ditto evolution would have to have something really different so that people would actually use it.

what if there was an evolution to Ditto that required level 60, through all its level transformations, it has become more capable of transforming faster, with more powerful stats, always having a faster sequence with the move Transform, and being capable of copying the targets Stats with additional points. oh snap... it would be called Jarro..

If you don't like EV training, there's always the option of using Pokesav to create a Pokemon that is 100% legit but also has your desired EVs and IVs.

I'll never do it. It's boring enough just getting normal xp without bothering about hidden stats.

It takes me like 15 minutes to EV train a pokemon from scratch...it's really not as bad as you think.

That requires an action replay, right? And those are like 25$... Who has that kind of money to cheat, when you can buy a sparkly horse with it.

Peace Bullet there's a Lucario in there for you to fantasize over :P

Anyway, that was... interesting. The camera seems waaaay too far back, and everything seems very pixelated. Hopefully it will improve before the game is released.

No, you can just use pokesav on your PC then receive them through the GTS on your own server.
