Anyone know a good place level 77's? I literally have a team of pokemon all at 77, and I've been spamming at the foot of mount silver outside the pc. Anywhere better?

Pokemon League or keep battling a gym leader over and over.

 back when I played SIlver I grinded against the Elite 4 since their pokemon gave more XP despite generally having lower levels. Of course, I don't know what sort of changes HG/SS have made, so that might not apply anymore.

You still get a good several thousand xp for each Pokemon in the Elite Four. And you get lots of money for beating them too (especially if you double it with the Amulet Coin).

How does this team sound for a Diamond playthrough (what I plan to have before the E4)?
Torterra
Garchomp
Lucario
Crobat
Gyaraduos
Gengar

Absolutely anything can work for a playthrough against the computer opponents. There are videos of people sweeping the elite four with http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryC0hmZOEfc

With that being said, two double-ice weaknesses and another normal ice weakness with only one pokemon who can take ice hits well. (Well, two in most cases cause Gyarados has great special defense) is the only thing to watch out for against people. You'll most likely destroy the elite four with ease though.

Awesome now to breed everything but Turtwig and Zubat on HG and then trade them over.

I can personally vouch for the pure pwnage that is Crobat. Fast and reliable! I have Cross Poinson, fly, Air Slash, and Air Cutter. I use this guy for fighting types, grass types, and anything that poison is decent against. that cross poison has a high critical hit ratio, and can poison.

Garchomp good, almost any dragon is good. I use an Altaria, personally. Perish song, Sing, Dragon Claw and sky attack.

Lucario is good. I feel a fighting type is almost essential to any core team. I use a Machamp. Focus punch, focus blast, cross chop, and rock climb.

Gengar is cool, fast and is infinitely useful for such fights as -Entei, Mesprit, Raikou...etc.etc.- Mean Look, and Hypnosis.... I would use one, but I decided to use an Umbreon. Not too similar though... lol

Gyrados is a f-ing tank. Can't usually one shot it. And it has the benefit of being able to use dragon moves while being water and flying. I use a Walrein for my ice and water needs.

Torterra was the starter I chose for Pearl... I ended up not liking it. It just didn't suit me. I use a Porygon Z now. I call it my turret. Zap cannon, Hyper Beam, Tri-Attack, and Ice Beam... I think you can understand.

Now your team would get a thumbs up from me. Good defense, and well rounded. Good luck ;)

(I fought the Elite four for the second time, the upgraded pokemon version.... and crushed them. I'm going to take down Red soon)

Bahaha, I gave Farfetch'd the move Thief and am having him steal items from a Chansey swarm. No Lucky Eggs yet, but I've gotten a bunch of Oval Stones. Next I'll have to hit up the place with Cubone to get a Thick Club. Oh Farfetch'd you devious little rascal you.

Hi, so I just squished Red under my heel, and I'm trying to obtain a Shiny Charmander via the "turn on and off" trick, before picking up the charmander in Oaks lab. My question is, can the little picture that it shows you of the pokemon (ie: charmander in this case) be the shiny version? Cause its taking super long for me to pick it up, talk to oak, and then check, then repeat... I know its yellow, but I'm not sure if the picture is always the normal version.

dude, that is still like a 1 in 8000 chance, you could be "turning off and on" for months before getting one..

Yes. But Black Charizard makes it SO worth it. Also, I'm a completely 100% "legit" gamer. As in no hacks, or action replay whatever.

You can try http://www.smogon.com/ingame/rng/dpp_rng_part1'ing for a shiny, it's legit...I've done it a few times.

It's awesome. It sounds very confusing at first, but if you keep at it, you will be able to hatch shinies..trust me, if I can figure it out, anyone can.

Everyone's definition of "legit" is different. For me, as long as you don't use any kind of external cheating device or glitch in the game(neither of which RNG does), then it's legit.

I'd consider software on a computer an "external cheating device".

You use the software on the computer as a reference, it never comes in contact with your game...if you wanna believe that, then whatever.

Well that's like saying that looking up a pokemon's stats or movepool on the internet is cheating.
