Thats what I love about P/D/Pl and HG/SS, you can trade and battle between those games. I have been trading Pearl generation pokemon for Gold and Red generation pokemon with a friend. Eventually when I get HG I'll trade my elite team and favorites to that game so I can keep up with the pokeworld. I'm actually borrowing a friends Pearl, but he doesn't really care how long I use it. :celebration: I just want HG all for myself soooooo bad.

And to the person with the Paras and Butterfree problem. Go with Paras, since the evolved form is really cool, and not a lot of people use that pokemon.

Yeah what kind of genders do you guys prefer to capture? I remember way back when I first played Gold on GBC I was obsessed with making sure I caught all males so the little symbols matched, but these days I've become much more progressive and equal opportunity.

Except for Geodude and Slowbro. I refuse to capture a female of either of those. I mean they have "dude" and "bro" in their names, it's just wrong.

Also can't decide whether I want to use Paras or Butterfree for a status inflicter. Butterfree is so pretty when it flies behind you, but I've wanted a Paras for months in Platinum and never got one (they're everywhere in HeartGold).

I never caught all one-gender, but different pokemon I have my own preconceived notions as to whether or not it is male or female and I usually go with that. Oddish, for example: female. Scyther, definitely male. Others can go either way (like Rattata and Pidgey).

Yeah, I think it's just dropping the signal, my DS does that a lot. Now it's time to level dratini up a bit I think.

Yeah Dratini would have taken 5500 steps to hatch the egg, so I just gave you the parent and kept the egg instead. Upside is that you get a level 20 Dratini instead of level 1.

Most of the time, it makes no difference for me. However when a pokemon's appearance tends to learn towards stereotypes of one, I like to get the other. For instance, I love male Gardevoirs and Clefables or female Machamps. With that being said, when I'm breeding for a specific nature or trait I'm going to take either.

Anyway, I just got my 8th badge in HeartGold with 5 level 32-34 pokemon and a level 4 HM slave. I'm thinking I'm gonna spend time now making an 6th pokemon for actual combat. I'm thinking I'll use Girafarig.
