So how is everyones team looking. I've been able to play a little bit more so I have
lvl 38 typhlosion
lvl 35 pidgeotto
lvl 23 onix
lvl 30 gyarados
lvl 24 ekans
and that's it so far. Looking for a yanma so I can have my team ready and I'm going to train them all. I could use a psychic pokemon though or perhaps a ghost type. I just beat the 7th gym leader.

Still in training for the 8th Gym. Here's my team so far:
Arcanine Lv. 39
Heracross Lv. 35
Gyarados Lv. 36
Alakazam Lv. 42
Aerodactyl Lv. 40

The only difficult part will be training my Dratini after I get the 8th Gym Badge. I want all of my Pokemon around Lv. 40 at the least. I have a few hours of grinding ahead of me. :banghead:

You can totally take the 8th gym with that team. The real trouble is taking on the Elite Four to get access to Kanto. My own team has a few way under-leveled pokemon, and there are some rare TMs I still need to get before it's tournament ready. It's hard training up flying types. There's nowhere filled with high level pokemon that they are strong against.

Edit: Where'd you get the Aerodactyl? I haven't encountered any fossils yet...

Generation II is hardly "new" Pokemon. Most people still consider Gen II Pokemon to be just as good as Gen I.

In HeartGold and SoulSilver Old Amber can be found randomly by smashing rocks, and revived at the Pewter Museum of Science. It is not a key item in these games.

I have no interest in joining since I currently don't have a competitive team on the DS(so any Pokemon I would use would be Sav'd,which I assume is against the rules of the tournament).


But why is Shaymin banned? that's weird,Shaymin-S makes sense,it's absurdly overpowered against normal Pokemon,but Shaymin is well under Celebi in terms of usefulness,it has the same stats and a less useful move pool-all it has is Seed Flare.


Also,you should really do level 100 instead of 50,it makes it a lot better in general.


You should also consider doing the tournament on Shoddy(or a similar program),as that makes sure the battles are even(I.E,makes sure no one is cheating since every one is on a level playing field and can't have hacked Pokemon or really rare Pokemon like Wish Blissey that unbalance things).

Since Shoddy assures every one has the option to have perfect IV's/any EV's they want instantly-makes the whole thing easier and more fair all around,imho.

You can also set rules like Sleep Clause in stone,so no one can "forget" about it and end up with lame DQ's.

Just my opinion,and if you change to Shoddy I might consider joining.

I'm used to it. I :wub: ed me Shuckle and would try to catch them all the time, so smashing rocks has always been one of my passtimes (often leaving and re-entering so I can smash more rocks)

Trade. I breeded one on my Diamond Version and traded it. Same way I got my Alakazam. I just used my cousin's DS and Voila. I like the team but Dragon types are hard as hell to kill when they take down your two Dragon Move powerhouses easily [Gyarados has IceFang and Aerodactyl has Dragon Pulse]

What should I replace my Heracross with? It's not as useful as I had previously thought.

I just beat the Ice type gym leader in Heartgold. Not too hard considering I traded some 29-35 pokemon. I was getting tired of the drag with pokemon I really just didn't like. Fearow? Rattatta? Bellsprout? Not that I have anything personal against them, I just don't like them in a team. So I use Bayleef, Jolteon, Glaceon, Metang, and Togepi.

My friend was telling me that Gold and Silver were the hardest, and Heartgold and SS did them justice... I agreed. I mean, the first gym is a flying type gym! I always choose the grass starter (for varying reasons) and the pokemon that you usually encounter in the beginning are grass or bug. I did meet Sentret, and Rattatta, but my Rattatta won it for me. I didn't have a Sentret for some reason....

Also, does anyone else agree with me that the newest Safari is THE BEST? I mean, they took out all the time limitations or footsteps, and just gave you the balls and say "have fun" and let you loose like a fat kid in a candy store! PLUS, the layout is so nice, I caught a Smeargle, a Poliwag, Tauros, Magmar, Geodude, and a Hoppip.

Anyways, I'm having Pokefun, can't wait for Blanc et Noir

I have had times where it was so low on energy that even closed the flashing light was red. I mean, if it goes red when its open and I'm not at home, I just close it to resume later, but twice did it flash red. The first time, it died, the other I literally lunged for the power cord XD

Has anyone tried the battle tower yet in HG/SS? I won twice in a row with my team (Crobat, Scizor, Tyranitar), but I don't really think my current team can get 100 straight wins, so I'm breeding a few new pokes for it. Breeding a Typhlosion atm, gonna use him as a lead and it's gonna have Eruption. Oh yeah, it's gonna be awesome. :nuke:
