The Unofficial Pokemon Thread No. 8

Generation II is hardly "new" Pokemon. Most people still consider Gen II Pokemon to be just as good as Gen I. :P

Yea I really don't even think generation II as much a major change sure there's more pokemon but eh it's good.
On my way to the Elite 4 , my team note this is the original gold version .

Graveler lv 36

You should trade your Graveler to evolve it into a Golem.

It might be difficult. He has to find someone with the original silver or gold, crystal. But if he can get it Golem is soooo worth it.

I have no interest in joining since I currently don't have a competitive team on the DS(so any Pokemon I would use would be Sav'd,which I assume is against the rules of the tournament).

But why is Shaymin banned? that's weird,Shaymin-S makes sense,it's absurdly overpowered against normal Pokemon, but Shaymin is well under Celebi in terms of usefulness,it has the same stats and a less useful move pool-all it has is Seed Flare.

Also, you should really do level 100 instead of 50,it makes it a lot better in general.

You should also consider doing the tournament on Shoddy(or a similar program),as that makes sure the battles are even(I.E,makes sure no one is cheating since every one is on a level playing field and can't have hacked Pokemon or really rare Pokemon like Wish Blissey that unbalance things).

Since Shoddy assures every one has the option to have perfect IV's/any EV's they want instantly-makes the whole thing easier and more fair all around, imho.

You can also set rules like Sleep Clause in stone,so no one can "forget" about it and end up with lame DQ's.

Just my opinion, and if you change to Shoddy I might consider joining. ;)

I do think that doing it on shoddy would be a good idea that way no one has to worry about training, and we can hold it sooner

Three hours and then the new starters are announced on TokyoTV. Wonder how terrible they'll be.

Since it's black and white, they should do a psychic, dark, fighting triangle instead of fire, grass, water

I finally decided to beat the Elite Four on Platinum. Now I just need a Happiny to complete the Sinnoh Dex. Will anyone be willing to trade me one? I've tried breeding a Chansey, but when I hatch the egg, it always comes out as a Chansey.

Except that's not really equal because psychic attacks cannot hurt dark at all. Whereas fighting can do half damage to psychic and dark can do half damage to fighting. The only other combo besides grass, fire, and water working that I see is flying, fighting, and rock. Unless they work in dual types to balance it out of course.

That's because you have to breed a Chansey that is holding a Luck Incense. http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Happiny_%28Pok%C3%A9mon%29#Evolution

Question! I am going to buy SoulSilver at some point, but need to ask something. Are the only Pokemon included in the 251? Or is it all the 493? If so, is it easy to avoid having these extra 'Pokemon' in your party? Or are they more common than the older ones?

Need my Pokemon fix, but don't particularily like the Pokemon after 251.

It has essentially the same exact Pokemon as the original Gold/Silver, which is 251, plus a small few from the newer ones here and there. It is capable of supporting all 493, should you end up trading to achieve that.

Awesome :) Will be getting the game ASAP now. My DS hasn't been used since I finished Chrono Trigger earlier last year.

When you use a pokemon what do you look for, diverse move-pool or stats? I prefer the move-pool
