I found a tutorial on how to evolve pokemon that need to be traded, without actually trading them: http://www.wikihow.com/Use-the-GTS-Evolution-Glitch-in-Pokemon-D/P

It is says Diamond and Pearl (doesn't work in Platinum) but it also works with Soul Silver (it should also work with Heart Gold).

Is it bad that I don't want my Dragonair to evolve?

Not really I guess. Those added weaknesses can pose a problem in future battles.

I always liked Dratini and Dragonair more than Dragonite myself.

to reply to fishy, i said where Rock smash was, put the thread was closed(it was the last post)

for Rock Smash, you go to the area north of the Ruins of Alph, outside of Violet city, on that trail where the sudowood was, there is a fat guy in a blue shirt there, i beleive you have to catch or eliminate the sudowood, and he'll give you rock smash, or just talk to him to find out, im far past that time.

Thanks for the link :goodjob:

I hope the new Pokemon game is still compatible with the regular DS's instead of just being available for 3DS's. Although if 3DS is released at Holiday time I may just get it and put my Old, Phat, Gen. 1, Scratched/Chipped DS into retirement.

Meh not because of the weaknesses I just like the way Dragonair looks compared to Dragonite, so much more beautiful and graceful

Dragontie's stats are much higher than Dragonair therefore eliminating that issue.

Dragons alone are only weak against Dragon and Ice, but add Flying to the mix and you earn weakness to Electric and Rock as well. Of course only Rock gets super effective because Dragon resists Electric, and the combination thus only makes Electric do normal damage, and Rock isn't a commonly used attack type. Flying also adds immunity to Ground. So even with the extra weaknesses, Dragonite is superior in every way.

I think what makes Dragon types such a pain is their rare resistance to all off the starter types.

'Cept being Supersuperweak against ice. Flying is weak against ice too. So if you got hit by an Ice type, you'd better duck and cover. Of course, you could always switch to a fire or electric type, and then once you've cleared up the speedbump go back to the Dragonite.

Yeah... only 1 weakness *i think* which is dragon.

And HEY! A Charizard can't eat a Lucario he would break his teeth (and he definitely wouldn't be able to swallow it whole)

I don't think you want to use a Lucario in a match up with a Charizard. One flamethrower and you are eating the dirt.

So does anyone else agree that Scizor and Blissey are the devil in OU battles? I'm still fairly new battling, and have been using Shoddy right now, though I do have an OU team in Heart Gold. But man, those guys just wreck me.

Yeah... that sounds painful o.-

So has anyone decided on a team for the tournament? I have a few Pokemon I want to use but not a whole team.

I've got some Pokemon up my sleeve. Been impressed with some new ones I've never used before. I'm also using TM's, which is something I've never done before because I have a terrible habit of trying to collect and hoard things.

Can't tell you guys anything specific though. :ninja:

I've never had any particular battles against them, but it seems to me that you just need a good powerful Fighting type to put some hurt on Blissey. Can't imagine Scizor is that much of a problem, being 4x weak to Fire.

What about friggin' Magnezone. 12 resistances and one immunity. Water is the only type that does "normal" damage to it.

How often are they used in the metagame?

I dunno. I've never seen one, but they are in the OU category.

I think their weakness to Ground and Fire, very common attack types, ruins the billion resistances.
