The Unofficial Pokemon Thread #10

I have bad luck with my shinys' natures and abilities. I was however lucky on getting a Jolly red Gyarados in HeartGold.

Using a Synchronize pokemon when using the poke-radar method would be my best bet, but the red Gyarados is still my only usable shiny.

I got a shiny Raikou..it was an Adamant nature.

I had an epic nerdrage and deleted it. :banghead:

I had the brilliant idea of breeding my shiny Raticate and my Umbreon together to get a shiny Eevee, since that works in the gen 2 games. I forgot the baby is always the same as the mother, which is my Raticate. :( Ah well, shiny Espeon isn't as good looking as normal Espeon, so all is well.

I nicknamed the Ratata I got "Disappoint."

Does anyone think that "LandShark" is an appropriate name for a Gible? Also does anyone know where the best place to train Spe. attack EV's are?

All Hail Defaulted, Sig God of Apocalyptia, Alatur, his High Preist, And Peace Bullet, the Lucario God! Their proclamation: HeartGold was pretty cool.

Pretty cool? It's freaking awesome. (Now if only I had my own copy instead of just helping out my blind friend.)

For special attack.

HeartGold/SoulSilver - Surfing on Route 6 above Vermillion city to fight Psyducks and Golducks.
Diamond/Pearl/Platinum - The old chateau in Eternia forest to fight Gastly, and if you have a GBA pokemon game in your DS, Haunter.

So what are y'all's opinion on Platinum? I haven't played any of the fourth gen, and was thinking of picking up one of the Sinnoh games along with Heart Gold. Amazon has Platinum and Diamond/Pearl all at the same price, but I don't know which version I should get.

I like Platinum a lot. I think it has overall a better story and better world design than even HeartGold, but it's interface still pales in comparison to the magnificence of having the menu all down on the touchscreen. Every time they release a new game the Pokemon series gets just a little bit more polished. I still wish they would totally do away with having Deposit, Take, and Move Pokemon in the PC boxes though. It's utterly redundant. It should be Move Pokemon as your only option, and it should show you the box and your party on the same screen as soon as you turn it on (instead of after pressing a button twice to set it up), all while letting you drag and drop with the touchscreen.

I wish I could drag and drop to switch my Pokemon around in the party too. While we're on it I wouldn't mind a slightly more streamlined Pokecenter dialogue that didn't require me to press A five times. Get with the program Pokemon, less clicks to do things are better. :stare:

I'm giving up on regular training now and just catching Pokemon. I made the mistake of beating all 16 Gyms too early, and now I have nothing that can even touch the new Elite Four, so I'm stranded with nothing to train on and I don't feel like grinding 6 Pokemon up to level 75.

I'm glad the Pokécenters have stopped saying 'We hope to see you again!' Always seemed a bit morbid to me.

So I've spent most of this evening training up my Crystal team in Victory Road for the elite four. svcks, because the highest level pokemon you run into are level 40 Gravelers, sometimes bumping into Rhydons gives a lot of xp. My team was only around level 40, and I fought every trainer battle I came across. Kinda annoying.

I laughed at that far more than I should have, the little kid saying "I have pictures and videos of "Your Mother"" was the best. So immature, yet so hilarious :D

In the original I know you go in Victory road from indigo plateau and then go left, down the ladder hole in the ground. I don't know if they changed it in the remakes or not.

Whats your team like? I know level does matter, but if you have a well rounded team, you can actually suffice with pokemon around 77-79, lowest. I wrote about this earlier, but definitely make sure you have a hard hitting physical fighter. Fighting is the best choice, IMO, since Snorlax is normal.

hehe actually i was training, my highest was level 65 and my lowest was my level 51 snoralax. I really didn't need to be fighting him, but i thought meh and went for it.

right now im trying to redo my party.

i was thinking
Hounchcrow
typhlosion
amphros
gengar
politoed
and either dragonite or tyranatar

i was wondering if amphros is working but red has a lapras and blastoise
