The Unofficial Ulfric Fangirl Thread #14

Since we've already established that braid supremacy is what separates pitchers from catchers, I think you can bet your sweet bippy that he started braiding as soon as the cell door clanged shut. If only for the sake of his own sweet bippy.

a man has to establish himself in some form or another heh might as well start right off then so no one thought he'd ever be catching.

I can only imagine the thalmor realizing they had quite the barbarian on their hands. :D

Those of you who used more Alternate Start mod maybe you can answer this. If you pick the Bandit start does that mean all bandits are friendly? I'm planning another reboot to Salessi using that Live Another Life mod. May want to actually try and play the past I created for her last time. Still rolling ideas but planning on her being more of a bandit then a sneaky thief. Aela will convince her to change her ways. Will use the enchanced companions mod possibly. I want to use the enhanced Aela mod to but could not find where it said you could marry her and I want that outcome again. If Salessi becomes Dragonborn she will not progress the MQ by visiting the greybeards. this should keep Miraak's cultists from appearing.

Will not do Dragonborn with her. Not worth the headache.

I think it is only the bandits you spawn with that are friendly. But I might be wrong.

Where do you spawn?

I'm tossing around ideas...

Maybe she left/ran away from home and returns from her life of crime to find its been burned to the ground by the very ones she thought were her friends (bandits) I like the idea of chaos and revenge that could make possible. I want to make her more barbaric then last time. Duel wielding axes or two handed sword even. not sure. Her morals would be in question but Aela would set her right. But her "I don't give a damn" attitude would keep her from bothering with the whole dragonborn business. But her attitude would make her fun to play and should have plenty of reason to explore places looking for some trouble heh. Also I love the hunting mod I use with Irwaen so I'll likely have her do that as well.

As for any civil war actions... who knows what she will do there. Stormcloaks for sure but if and when I complete that would yet to be seen.

The spawn location is random for that start.

Doesn't it center you near Helgen though? I only used the mod once for Irwaen, she spawned at a small camp outside Helgen near the standing stones.

That start you used for her is the only one centred on Helgen. Most starts use a rumor quest to start the main quest, that one does not have that.

So picking a bandit beginning could start me anywhere but picking the hunter one located her to be near Helgen? That would make sense.

Either way I'm pretty much burned out with the issues Dragonborn caused. I wonder if certain scripts did not get installed. You know I can't even mine in Solstheim? I have to swing the pick axe as an equipped weapon in order to mine.

if your on the PC be careful.

I believe something in the animations is badly glitched. Hopefully they figure it out. I'm not going to give it a shot until they do.

The hunter start isn't random at all, that camp is always there with Alternate Start, even if you choose another start.

One thing you should know with the enhanced Companions questline, you MUST have subtitles enabled since it adds lots of dialogue, which of course is silent. Also, if you decide to do the Thieves Guild with New Salessi, you must change the default settings in the mod, since the enhanced Companions won't allow a TG member to join (something Arkas learned the hard way when he tried to con his way in - I had actually forgot about when I tried that! Kodlak literally said "go back to your friends in Riften").
I've changed the settings so that Jelissa won't have to do THAT many extra radiant quests and don't have to level THAT much, since she also will be doing lots of other things, I don't have THAT much time to play, and I dont want to wait forever before I'll be able to have Vilkas as her follower, and, if things should turn out that way, possible love interest and husband.
(My latest idea is to bring both wolf brothers to Season Undending - they would make a fine-looking bodyguard for the Dragonborn, don't you think? And they all obviously will escort Ulfric there, too. I could even throw in Erik and Ralof in the mix, that would be... interesting... B))

Yeah I was reading about how Aela does not approve of stealing or magic. But I wonder if you can join the thieves guild after joining the companions? Thing is with the Enchanced Companions, can you take Aela as a follower or must you wait to be harbinger?

Aela was Salessi's body guard at the Season Unending quest. Stood there with her arms crossed, staring down Tullius heh.

I usually play with subtitles off but turned them on for the Hunters Guild mod due to it having some lines that are not voiced. I'm realizing there is a lot of dialog I may have missed before heh.

still harbinger I think to get any follower companions. Also if you use that mod and you want her to accompany you on the companion trial quest to do more quests for her than Farkas but only if you use the full version.

The full version is what I'd go for. I want her on the Proving quest.

Then do more quest for her. Also there is skill and day requirements for the story quest that change. I think its 14 days then 28 days and then 14 days that most pass between story quests.

I certainly hope you can! I don't care about Aela, but if the mod removes the marriage flag for her, it surely would remove the flag for all the Companions, including Vilkas. But why would a mod remove the possibility to marry the npcs that are marriable in vanilla? Seems dumb. I can't remember any mention of this in the mod description.
I can't remember anything about them being available as followers earlier than in the vanilla game, either.
Or are we talking about different mods here?

Its a complete remake of her follower system that his doing and he will re-enable marrying her at a certain stage. Think of it as ufo but just for Aela. He adds silent dialogue for certain areas and more commands. Its also a seperate mod Aurora.

Ok, I see. It's the same guy who does the mod for the faction? That explains my confusion.
