The update just went LIVE on STEAM !

On the Steam Client, click Library, then Right Click Fallout New Vegas, Click Properties, Click Local Files, then click Verify Integrity of Game Cache. This is what worked for me and a few others I believe.

I'm curious if the "Verify Integrity" check passes for you? ALWAYS have 1 file failing

are you using a archive text file? I can not get any of my textures working :(

No. I do still have the ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated .bsa in my data folder but no text and pure vanilla ini files at the moment.

Does this patch install automatically like the last one? I kind of slept through the last few hours and I'm not sure how to check whether it's there - is there some place I check the version number I'm running?

(I only ask because I'm having no problems launching the game and, given what so many other people have said in this thread, that makes me a little suspicious)

how did you get archiveinvallidation working?

I don't use the archiveinvalidation text file, I use the archiveinvalidation invalidated .bsa file. Seems to be working fine for my mods that require it.

Go to display settings in-game, there will be version umber in lower-left corner. If you are from eastern europe (1C/Cenega version of game), then don't bother checking, there is no patch for us yet.

Nah, it's not your INI's it's detecting I can assure you. When you do a verify intergrity it usually verifies the stuff in the Fallout: New Vegas directory itself. I don't believe it would verify the integrity of the FNV Folder in the My Games folder.

Just installed the patch and tried the game. The stuttering is fixed and the game runs much more smoothly now (with ultra high settings). Thanks bethesda.

Patched game and everything seemed fine. Then I reloaded my Brush Gun and saw what the reloading bug was all about for the first time ever. Yeah, that evil bug just svcks....

...and I still need to set the process priority to "above normal" or the sound goes into stupid mode.

What, not enough bugs? Had to go patch them in while fixing nearly nothing?

non of them are vanillia... i cant think of anything else unless it's something like NVMM, NVEdit, and NVSE?

Did you tried to set "98/ME" compatibility mode in properties of falloutNV.exe? It helped me without priority changing (which did not helped).

My patch is working okay but the first start up crashed. I had to do the "verify integrity of game cache" thing. It said it found one file to replace but when I did it again it still said it had one file to replace.

So when is it replaced?

I started the game and it was okay after that so I guess it's done.

I don't run any mods or replacements. I'm waiting on those until the game is fully patched up.

Ummm.... one fatal flaw with this patch, some enemy's are now essential, thus are now imortal.... i just encountered a cazador i couldn't kill....

So yay the patch made my game FPS playable at the cost of immortal enemy's.....

Christ bethesda did you let the interns make this patch or something, why the hell are some enemy's now unkillable ?

To the my mods are broke people, mods being broke are the least of your worries !!! :P

Edit: i just checked the GECK and no cazadors are marked as essential from what i can see..... very strange....

If you're having problems.. here's what I had to do to fix:

things you need to do:
Verify cache integrity (again) if you haven't.
If you're using NVSE, get rid of it. There'll be an update for it Soon™.
and get rid of the DLL fix for now if you're using it.

Did these things and it works beautifully for me now =D

Thanks for the info - looks like mine has indeed patched properly. Best wishes for you guys in Eastern Europe though - I do hope something comes through for you soon.

Yeah, there's a few issues caused, for sure.

Immortal creatures. A kill instead says they are unconscious, and a few seconds later, then get up and move around, attacking again.

Also, keymapping issues: If I have a weapon drawn, cannot holster, enter VATS or open Pipboy until I hit ENTER for some reason. I can then open Pipboy and reload/holster weapon.

Anyway, while a lot of the fixes are welcome news, what I'd really like for them is to start cleaning up the various quest-breaking bugs. Those bothered me WAY more than anything else (except maybe the CTD bugs).

None of them vanilla? Like you editted them or you added these INI's? If you editted them Steam shouldn't do anything to them (Through integrity search at least) and then if you just added files STEAM won't bother to look at it.

In any case I too find this whole .INI replacement thing really annoying but I can't help but point my finger at the Launcher itself rather than the game. Anyone get the game to work by starting the Games .Exe rather than the launcher to see if it stops replacing the file? If it still happens then it is some WEIRD bug with Steam then we can at least be assured.... of something.

Everytime I restart Steam and go for an integrity check of files, it keeps saying one file is missing and it needs to be reacquired. This doesn't prevent me from starting or playing the game, but is kind of annoying and worrying a bit.
