[WIP] The Vampires of House Serentin

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 4:51 am

Yeah, I rushed into the release of SVVR. Now I'm keeping the files much better organized and plan further ahead. Still roughing out the quests, so more details about that will probably revealed at a later point. For now it's mainly world building, armor/clothing development and creating new objects.

Haha! I have a day off from work today. But the sun is shining and mrs.StarX needs some attention as well. But tonight I'll probably can squeeze in a few hours of modding time. :D

it all sounds good to me :D, any plans on a beta in the future?

A playable beta may take a while to be honest. I'm sure things will speed up once I completed all the locations and items, so everything will be set to implement the story.

Thanks. I'll make a request for voice actors when the time comes.

Took some new screenshots in the Archpatriarch's Hall as I added a few more details and Serentin guardians. And it's just incredible fun to just make some random screenies in between modding sessions.

StarX - the archpatriarch hall room screenshots seem to project a nice touch of evil about it. Love the throne idea, particularly that 'overhang' above the seat. The red of the area definately conveys power. Keep plugging away.on the project!

Thanks mate! I got the inspiration for the throne from a Spawn action figure I own, sitting on a somewhat similar throne.

Thanks IS! He's quite a character indeed.

Yeah, it's amazing what a difference a change in texture can make for the atmosphere in such a place. :)

Nope, it's just the plain old Castle Interior tileset. I will only use the new texture on the underground Arch Patriarch section of Greywind Keep.

Small update I'd like to share. I've redone the Serentin Stealth Armor (the name is just a placeholder!) and after many hours of tweaking the meshes and the textures I'm very pleased with the outcome. The shadow effect from the hood comes from Madmole's fantastic http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=12870 mod. The blades shown are made by Waalx and are not featured in Realswords. This blade was also present in SVVR, but I recolored it to match the style of House Serentin.

Feedback is as usual welcome!

Cheers!

Looks very good, question: is the armor for the stock body type?, just wondering becuase I would be willing to install a body mod for this :D

I like the armor more than the blade, the sword seems to have a very thin blade :P

Thanks mate! The armor shown is based on Exnem, but the final mod will by default use vanilla meshes. I will make optional downloads for body replacers. Very easy, as I mostly use vanilla meshes.

The blade is pretty slender, unlike the massive warblades that the warrior types are wielding. I think this blade suites them well. :)

Yup, slender and deadlier in a way, kinda handy for a creature of the night

I think that's what deters me the most from mods, not knowing what body models are available. I use HGEC so if all the armors were converted to that body style that would be greatly appreciated. The armor looks great, keep up the good work.

Thanks! Well, to my knowledge HGEC is a cranked up version of Exnem's, so in theory you can use the Exnem version right away. I'll probably start with making UFF and Exnem versions first.

After doing some new screenshots of the updated light armor in the Archpatriarchroom I decided to redo the whole interior of Greywind Keep with the new textures. It adds so much to the atmosphere that it would be a shame to only use it for one or two rooms. It will be more work, but it'll be worth it! :)

Here are some the new screenshots featuring the light armor:

A few shots showing off the armor and revealing a bit more detail:

Glad you like it, mate! I play light armor types a lot, I like being swift and agile. Though playing a tank type heavy armor type can be great as well. http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u15/StarX_GFX/VampiresSerentin/WarriorOutfit01.jpg will probably serve as House Serentin's main heavy armor.

Cool! It's not very bulky armor, but it looks protective enough to make it suitable heavy armor. :)

Thanks! Cyrodiil is a lonely place for a vampire indeed.

Small update (very small actually):

Thanks to PacificMorrowind I can now use a vampire skull mesh! Tomorrow I'll be putting it to good use on some of the interior pieces. :)
