The Vanilla

Post » Fri Jul 09, 2010 3:52 pm

Hey guys so I'm kinda new on the forums and I was wondering what The Vanilla thing is? Sorry if I sound stupid but I read about it a couple of times and I just can't understand! Could someone be kind enough to explain it to me?

Thanks

Depending on context, Vanilla means either an unmodded game or the base Fallout 3 game without any of the DLCs.

It's slang: to say that something is 'vanilla' means that it's the plain or regular version. Like vanilla ice cream; that's the flavour you default to when you think of ice cream. So, here, it would refer to the more original version of Fallout 3, in contrast to the addition of something like mods, the DLCs, or maybe even the update patches.
