Lush green forests please (which is exactly why I don't think Skyrim will top Oblivion for me personally)

Yes, but they won't be as lush or plentiful as in Cyrodiil.

What about the volcanic tundra? There could be volcanic activity in these areas. Could be cool seeing lava spew up in some locations of that area. Seems like a waste of such an environment to not have any activity in that territory, and that would definitely qualify as my favorite. With the options given though, I chose the glaciers.

That's fall trees. I'm guessing aspen trees, like in Oblivion.
They're definitely not maple trees.

Call it fall forest. That's its actual name.

I honestly can't wait to explore cities and settlements. From what we've heard/seen so far, it seems as though each big city will have a unique feel and layout. The cities in Oblivion all had their own designs and style, yes, but it seemed as though they had a sort of formula for creating each city (besides the Imperial City and New Sheoth). And the settlements of Skyrim should be so much more interesting than those of Oblivion. There were only three non-city settlements that had more than three or four buildings (Hackdirt, Bleaker's Way, and Border Watch) and only one of those seemed like anything more than a congregation of houses. Even then, it was populated with misanthropic lunatics, and it became a ghost town once you saved Dar-Ma. They've told us that the smaller settlements will be bigger than they were in Oblivion, more like the ones found in Morrowind. I was so disappointed when I played Oblivion and towns similar to Seyda Neen or Pelagiad or Vos were absent from the game, so now I'm elated to hear news of bigger, livelier non-city settlements.

I am very excited to explore all parts of the wilderness as well. I think it will be more fascinating and exciting to explore the wilderness in Skyrim than Oblivion because there aren't any generated landscapes.

Skyrim. Home of the Nords and frozen tundra in every direction. If you will direct your attention to your right there is white, and to your left white as well, and if you look in any other direction you will be suprised to see (what do ya' know) WHITE! I don't want that much snow, but you know enough to make it feel like its north of the eaquater.

Is that confirmed.

They've never ever mentioned anything alike in any of the talks that have occured about what environment types will be there.
Just pine forests and fall forests. Also, look at what we've seen so far. I'm taking that as a confirmation.

It sure would be nice to have other types of forests though, like oak.

You forgot Marshlands and Volcanic Tundras.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to doing all of these a lot but mostly traversing steep mountains and exploring frozen wastelands in the North (voted for the latter).

My khajiit is at home in the forests of the world, making a living on hunting. Should be pretty epic scenery to find. :D

Cyrodiil was 95% green and a little generic

There's lots of this world we haven't seen yet.

This is one thread among the five he's started today. I don't think he could be bothered.
