Okay, you know when you've left the vault for a while, than you get a signal from Amata and you go back, and they want you to help them get out of the vault ?

Well, I did the quest a different way and let the vault people escape. But most of them died and Amata disappeared. Does she die if you let her out of the vault?

I normally do the right thing and tell them to stay in the vault. Since that is the best choice after seeing what happened.

I honestly never killed the Overseer because then Amata gets pissed at you. So why does everyone in the vault continue to tolerate the Overseer's crap?

Deep down do they respect him or how does that working out for them?

I'm sure other players have put a bullet between his eyes without so much as a second thought to it.

You should maybe try a different approach.

Spoiler
You can convince the Overseer to step down and let Amata be in charge.

Pretty much. Later on there is a random encounter where she is stopped and interrogated by Enclave soldiers, and they shoot her.

Well when I left vault 101 I kinda killed every guard that tried to stop me. I spared the overseer which made Amata happy though she seemed pissed I didn't help her when she was being questioned by her father the overseer. Strange I know. I picked the "I'd have helped but I was trying to escape un noticed"

Anyway fast forward to later I get her message to help them out. Which I did. I choose peacefully convince the overseer to step down and let Amata take over. I also convinced them they should live in the vault but not be trapped in there. That they should come and go but that the wasteland is not a friendly place.

However since I sort of shot my way out earlier I was unwelcomed to remain in vault 101. "Thanks for the help but people haven't forgiven you for what you did, get out." kinda thing. I did later on bump into one of the vault 101 dwellers out near Bigtown on the road. She gave me some purified vault water as a gift and was then on her way.

It kind of angered me that they blame you and your "dad" of all things.

Its like " okay, what did I do? you guys were going to kill me like you killed Jonas?"

Its like they want to take it out on you because James ran off.

Even more frustrated. Amata is annoyed with you no matter what you do. Killing her dad makes her hate you, and if you don't kill him, she's mad because you never came to her aid while her dad and some guard slapped her around.

You can still intervene but not kill her father. The security officer is the only one you have to kill if you decided to stop the interrogation.

I'm not sure where you're getting this from.

Spoiler
I've always sneaked passed the security office, and when I talk to Amata after opening the Vault door, she never has a problem with me not helping her. She tells me she understands.

You really should have posted this thread in the hints, cheats and spoilers forum. It's hard to discuss anything without giving something away.

When ever I go back to the vault, I always end up shooting this guy any way. So should I ever start over, I may just do that.

It depends on one of the answer options that you give her as well before leaving.

Also If you feel it needs to go in that part of the forum, than speak with a moderator. I apologize for not doing so and realize my mistake. Thank you for informing me. It is appreciated.

Even if you kill no guards, and help out Amata later in the game, there is still no way to be free to return to the vault. You'll always get exiled.

No problem, it happens all the time. There's a fine line sometimes between general discussion and giving something away. I've already notified the moderators and they have in fact moved the thread.
