The Vivec Incident

OOC: Actaully Darkom, your character is in sync timewise pretty much. the meeting was happening as we sat at the tavern, so you wont have to time skip too much

IC: Ravu, Temple district

Ravu looked as the man before him cried out in desperation. "What are you!?" He yelled. Ravu gave a cackling laugh as he approched the man.

"I am a Saviour of Morrowind. I know the way, I know how to stop the corruption that slowly spreads across Tamriel. I am the only man who can stop it." Ravu grasped the man by the throat and lifted him and looked into his eyes, "You dont know what ive done, how far i will go, to save this forsaken place. Men like you, who claim to be brave, would quiver at what i have seen. What is happening tonight is the beggining. Of a better Morrowind. Of a better World. Soon, I shall put an end to the corruption. And we shall be pure!" He yelled. He threw the man away, he landed a few yards in front of Ravu with a thump.

"There are no Gods, no tribunal, no emporers to save us now. Our fate, rests in man and mer!" He said. "I should silence you now, shouldn't I? That would be merciful, wouldn't it? To silence all the voices that ring in your head. But I wont. rather, I shall let them ring. And when corruption overwhelms you and takes all that you held dear, those words shall echo within you, and you shall realize something." Ravu drew a long, white blade.

"I was right." Ravu handed the man the blade, and then dissapeared into the night, to begin the path to purity.

Quick-Tail

Quick-Tail was a bit bitter that Anrays did not wish to help his comrade, Trihas, but he realized he was right. If Trihas is hiding, there is no reason to find him. If its any of the other 3, there will be no reason to find him either. Quick-Tail sighed and went to take a sip of brandy, but realized it was empty.

"Bugger. Im out of Brandy. Well, I have to Agree with You Anrays, we should go start looking on what the hell is happening in Vivec. If we are going to look around, I'd say we either look in the foreign quarter or Temple district. both places have experienced mysterious, yet massive fires. We may find clues on who did this there. Of course, its your call on which one we search first." Quick-Tail said as he leaned back in his chair.

OOC: Alright, I just wasn't sure how long the fire burned for or whether it was night or day. I'm assuming that the meeting happened a little while before dawn, and you all are in the early morning hours. I think that's right...

IC: The figure drew closer; Folven knew it must be the mysterious bandaged leader of this blood cult. His laughter echoed into the chamber behind him, mingling with his voice. The effect was both enchanting and terrifying.

"I am a Savior of Morrowind. I know the way; I know how to stop the corruption that slowly spreads across Tamriel. I am the only man who can stop it." With that the man took Folven by the throat, lifting him into the air with superhuman strength.

"You don't know what I've done, how far I will go, to save this forsaken place. Men like you, who claim to be brave, would quiver at what I have seen. What is happening tonight is the beginning of a better Morrowind, of a better world. Soon, I shall put an end to the corruption. And we shall be pure!" The leader threw Folven several yards down the street, his great bulk cushioning his fall. Even if he had the mental focus to shout for help, he would not have been able, so injured was his windpipe.

"There are no Gods, no tribunal, and no emperors to save us now. Our fate rests in man and mer! I should silence you now, shouldn't I? That would be merciful, wouldn't it? To silence all the voices that ring in your head." He took from his billowing robe a pure, white blade. Folven managed only to swallow his bile, tears threatened to fall from his wide, panicked eyes.

"But I won't. Rather, I shall let them ring. And when corruption overwhelms you and takes all that you held dear, those words shall echo within you, and you shall realize something." Folven hardly heard him. He did not begin to comprehend what the man had said until he began speaking once more.

"I was right." The man tossed the single edged blade, free from sheath, towards Folven. In no condition to catch anything, the dark elf raised his flabby arms to protect himself from what he thought was the bandaged man's deathblow. The blade hit his hands, and then fell onto his large belly.

Folven stared at the strange steel, glowing red with the reflection of the nearby fire. By the time he looked back up to the robed man, he was gone. Folven sat alone, tears streaming silently down his face, with a naked blade in his hands, for what seemed like hours. However long he despaired, by the time the first tendrils of sunlight had struck the city, he had only managed to stumble along aimlessly to the Arena Canton. He spent much of the day lying among beggars against an outer wall, still clutching the sword the man had given him. He clutched it so tightly, his blood mingled with the tears that dotted the white steel.

OOC: You are all in the Arena district, no? If not then let me know so I can change it. If so, then would one of you be so kind as to notice poor Folven? I am kind of waiting for a plot advancement, not yet decided whether he will join Pure or not. Oh, and Galvon, you really need to catch up ;)

OOC: Swift-Blade, next time, maybe post the exact hour, that'll make things clear. (It's around 1pm now, no?)

Philias, Tavern

"I would prefer not to walk into a blazing inferno and as far as I know, that's what the Foreign Quarter currently still is. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if both these quarters would have been sealed, no?" Philias had actually no idea why he was talking, the others seemed to be ahead of him on every single aspect of the current events, like he was just here to state the obvious. "Let us go and find a way in to the Temple district, I don't think we'll find many clues in the Foreign Quarter yet."

Philias ostentatiously began to prepare to leave, as to get the others finally undertake some action instead of just discussing what 'might' be best to do. - He drank the goblet of water and grabbed his dinner plate to put it in his backpack, against the outer side. Nothing is going to hurt Mr. Cuddles. he thought.

Realising the others had been following his actions closely, he freezed. With a blush on his cheeks he stumbled: "O-or we could, of course, if you want, ehm... stay... a little longer and think it through... if you want." - He felt so embarrassed he could sink through the ground.

Anarys didn't pay attention to Phillias's odd action with the plate. The breton might be several bricks short of an ordered stack, but his quirks seemed mostly harmless.

"I also thinks we should try the Temple rather than the Foreign Quarter. The fire is certainly still burning, there will be plenty of peoples fighting the fire and tryng to save what they can. Hardly a good place to have something secret running.

The Temple is a way better bet. Since the fire, most of the activity had been moved to the Ministry of Truth and Vivec's palace. They're rebuilding the High Fane of course, but that's out in the open. And with the activity moved away, the storages and cellars don't see much use.

There might be another reason : whever is behind seems to have a soft spot for letting peopls hang themselves and rub salt in wounds. From that angle setting shop right down where his ennemies were is likely to add spice to utility."

Quick-Tail, 1:00 PM, Areana District

Quick-Tail nodded, "Well, Since you guys don't like the idea of going out into a fire, Temple district it is!" Quick-Tail laughed And Aylia chuckled too.

"Ill go out and grab some things before we go. We dont know what to expect there, and its better safe than sorry." Aylia got up, "Ill meet you guys here in about 10 minutes. I'll be quick." Aylia said and walked out the door quickly

"you know, the good thing about her, is when she says she will be quick, she will be quick." Quick-tail laughed and asked the bartender for some mutton. "Wanna be full before I go. Better safe than sorry, or so I hear." Quick-Tail said, a smile on his face as he obviously made fun of what Aylia had just said before him.

As he smiled, he heard the door open again. He turned around in his chair to see 3 men, in odd looking white robes, their face concealed by... Bandages? It was absolutly bizzare. Of course, judging from the other bandits, thieves, and ne'er-do-wells in the tavern.

"Who are those guys?" Quick-Tail asked, pointng to the robed men. He was even more suprised when they drew swords and began toapproch them.

"Whoever they are, i think they are trouble...

"I will have some things to get too ? I'll pick it on the way when we move through st Olm's Canton. Some armor mostly"

Anarys tensed slightly as the three odd mens entered the tavern. Partly because their oddly bandaged faces brought back to his mind the unpleasant memories of corprus victims trying to hide their affliction. But also because these men's attitude told him they weren't shopping for a drink, having merely glanced at the bar before heading their way. Surveying the room for targets or trouble for sure.
Without showing any sign he had noticed the men, he backed his chair a bit, giving himself some room to stand and mentally reviewing a spell in case these peoples were looking for a fight rather than simple intimidation.

He said to the others, in a voice low enough that the newcomers couldn't hear him. "If I speak the word 'light', close your eyes for a second. And get ready to fight."
As soon as the men came within hearing range he nodded to acknowledge their presence, asking aloud "What sort of business do you want with us ?"

Aylia, Arena District

Aylia quicky wove through the crowd in order to grab a few potions, poisons, and food from a shop nearby in the Arena district. Usually the district was not very crowded, but from what was going on tonight, hundreds of people had fled here, hoping that the warriors of the arena could help keep them alive. As she strode through te crowd, a man caught her eye. He was an older, slightly flabby dunmer, who was weeping and holding a white sword. And not just a slightly white sword. this thing was pure white, whiter than even a silver weapon. Odd that a man would be crying when he owned such an obviously expensive sword. Aylia topped for a moment and looked at him.

"Whats your problem?" she said as she walked towards him

Quick-Tail, Arena District

The three white robed men approched. Their blades were made of steel, and they held them with finesse instead of power. Crap... Just my lucky day. these guys look like able swordsman. Quick-Tail turned around and tried toseem like nothing was wrong with them. He grasped his empty bottle of brandy and lifted it, pretending to be drunk. He stealthily went for his short sword, which he kept in a leather sheath that blended with his armour on his thigh. If these guys think I'm drunk and they want a fight with me, they won't think I have any sort of concelaed weapon. They will think I'll go for for my longsword, and that since im wasted, they will get the first strike. Quick-Tail suppresed a smile as he turned to the men and lifted his bottle.

"Its a... a Wondeful night for a drink... Eh?" He said, doing his best impersonation of a drunk man. he could see their faces past the bandage, so he was clueless on if they were buying it. "Have uh... uh... Drink wit us!" Quick-tail started laughing hysterically. The robed men didn't seem amused by him.

"Your the man who our master hired for the thefts, correct?" The man in front asked. His robe had a few gold linings on it, so he was probably thier "Leader" of this little gang. Quick-Tail continued his Drunk charade and laughed, "Yah... that me... I did good! Those council guys won know wha hit em!" Quick-Tail made his best impersonation of a hiccup and laughed some more.

The leader-man nodded, "Our master want you dead. So, you will die!" He walked forward aggressivly, and raised his blade Quick-Tail grasped the hilt of his Shortsword, and looked frightened."Wai! Wai! Lemme.. tell ya sumtin..."

He smiled and in one quick motion got out of his chair and thrust his shortsword into the suprised mans chest. He gasped and a red patch began to cover his robe. "They don't call me Quick-tail for nothing" Quick-Tail said with a smile he rmoved his sword and the man coughed, blood staining his bandage over his mouth. The man collapsed to the floor, struggling to breathe.

"If its a fight you boys want, you got it!" Quick-Tail yelled

IC: 1:00 PM Cultist Meeting

Shabael slowly exited with the mob of cultists. His mind was racing with the dangerous words spoken. He noticed that he had a liking to Ravu. He has a great respect for the old ways of the dunmer Shabael thought to himself. He continued as the mob thinned out, and stopped off at his camp where he noticed Dun-Il had. He noticed an Ordinator walking among the many gatherings of people talking and laughing in their hesitant merriment. He watched them carefully as they butted into conversations and inquired on their day. They're scared he thought to himself, smiling. He found himself almost feeling agressive towards them. All these years of opression are coming to their climix. He entertained the thought as he drifted to sleep.

Anarys watched as the bandaged trio came forth. Keeping in line with Quick-Tail's show of apparent inebriation he just rocked slightly on his chair, holding his glass his front of his eyes. Which let him see what happened while appearing lost in a drunken stupor. It's only shein. Sujamma would have been better, but beggars can't be choosers...

As soon as Quick-Tail moved into action, Anarys did the same. Though not as fast as the argonian, he nonetheless managed to act before the men still standing. Picking the one closest to him, he relied on the experience from countless tavern brawls to throw the alcohol straight into the man's face as he stood up.

Raising up while his opponent while still half-blinded, Anarys reached for the man's sword arm grabbed it at the wrist and dragging he man ? if it was a man under the robes and bandages ? to him. Pivoting on himself as he pulled, Anarys grabbed the man's elbow with his left hand, before driving the arm down with all his strength to meet his raising knee. Ending with a broken arm and falling sword, his opponent yelping in pain.

Before he could fully recover, Anarys pressed his attack on. Keeping a hold on the man's wrist to control him, he slammed his left elbow into he bandaged face. Repeating his strikes until the man dropped limply to the ground. Amateurs. I've come on top of that sort of fights when they weren't even gleams in their father's eyes. A good assasin don't talks, he kills. We'll see what you can tell. A ruined face won't silence you.

Having dispatched one of the would-be murderer, he turned his attention back to Swift-Tail, ready to help the argonian if he was in trouble.

After Anarys' words of caughtion, Philias carefully slipped his hand into his back, looking for his puny dagger. - "Its a... a Wondeful night for a drink... Eh?", he heard the Argonian say and in an uninspired attempt to blend in with the scene, he stone-dropped his head on the table, like he'd gone fatal on the ale... not his brightest move ever, he had to admit, as he much rather caught extra attention than blended in - not to mention the headache, but it seemed good enough for the mummies.

There he lay, face down on the table, one hand firmly round his dagger, waiting for the right moment. - Now!, he thought as he heard the Argonian utter a groan. He slipped under the table, hoping to stay unnoticed. He could see the unfortunate leader fall to the ground, staring at him in disgust, and Anarys rushing by, taking care of the left wingman, which left only one guy... his. He prepared for a low jump - else, he would hit the table, which wasn't advisable, especially after the blow in his drunkard-move - and set of, dagger forward, right at his foe's feed, who still seemed undecided on what to do. Let me decide for you, he thought and plunged his dagger through his left heel. A high pitched scream came from the robed man, who fell on his knees in utter confusion. "Sorry" he whispered as he dragged the man's head down, his dagger to be buried under his chin for a swift death.

Folven was woken from his stupor by a small commotion nearby. He blinked his eyes, touched the evil sword to make sure it had not been stolen, and then sat up to observe what appeared to be six men preparing for a fight. 'The bandaged man! He's here?!'

The Dunmer man immediately shrunk back, trying to make himself look inconspicuous as he watched. 'No, not him, but he is a Pure...Who are they attacking?' Folven took stock of the three seemingly normal men the robed Pure were approaching. A red and blue Argonian, a small Breton, and a large silver haired elf all sitting together.

The Argonian seemed to be drunk, addressing the robed men cheerfully. Folven could not hear what either men were saying, but the bandaged man seemed annoyed. Folven gasped as he saw the Pure raise his sword, preparing to strike down the Argonian. Just when it seemed the drunk was about to be sliced, he fell out of his chair, right into his assailant's stomach. Folven turned away, not wanting to see the Argonian die. He heard a body crumple to the floor, combined with the shouts of the other two.

'What?!' Folven turned back to look at the gruesome scene, only to find the robed man on the floor, and his two counterparts were struggling with the Breton and Dunmer. The Dunmer had one robed man by the arm, throwing repeated elbows to his bandaged face. The Breton was kneeling in front of the Pure, his dagger lodged under the robed man's jaw.

'Impossible...they defeated these Pure with such ease...Who are they?' Folven unsteadily got to his feet, his eyes still locked on the bloody robes of the Pure.

Quick-Tail could't help but smile at the ease the trio dispatched their attackers with. "Hell, we make a good team, don't we?" Quick-Tail laughed, and thn noticed something. The leader he had attacked was still alive, asting healing spells to try and save his fatal injury. Quick-Tail knew there was nothing that man could do to save himself, he was unarmed, too injured to effectivally heal himself, and outnumbered. But, the fact he was still alive meant Quick-tail could get some information out of him.

Quick-tail approched the man, who was reahing for his blade, and stepped on his arm hard, and he heard a snap and a moan from the man. Quick-Tail looked at him, "I want to talk to your face, not some bandages." He said, and then leaned over and tore the bandae from his face, revealing an older ashlander man, blood stained on his face. Quick-Tail stood up. "Ahhh. Much better. Now, whats your name."

"Yergas... I will tell you nothing more." he saidn spitefully and spat on Quick-Tail. "Well, Im not much of a fighter, but my friend Anarys here would probably be much obliged to get any information he wants from you. one way or another." He turned to Anarys and winked. "He's all yours, pal."

Quick-Tail sat back down and noticed a dunmer man, holding a stark white sword, was staring at him and the men with amazement. He seemed to have been weeping or something of the sort, and Quick-Tail looked at him. "Hey, that sword." He walked over to the man. "Kinda odd that its so shiny. You look like you've had a rough day. Join the club." Quick-Tail laughed. "You know anything about these guys?" Quick-Tail asked, pointing to the robed men.

Now that the combat was over, Anarys watched impassively as Quick-Tail deprived the leader of his sword and made a first attempt to get informations out of him. Without much success. When invited to apply some persuasion, he didn't flinch. He had wasn't attracted to torture, but neither had he qualms about using it when needed.

He grabbed the man by his broken wrist and the front of his robe, lifting him to the table while strongly gripping the wrist, feeling broken bone grind on broken bone. Commenting in a conversational tone, without more emotion than if he was picking up a fallen plate. "Sounds like you think yourself a though guy. I've met quite a lot who did the same. Most of them felt all they needed was to be though with others an crumbled fast. Let's see how though you are."

While speaking, Anarys started preparing a spell, releasing it with a short incantation, sending arcs of lighting through the hand gripping the man's robe, the electricity inflicting small but extremely painful burns. But the spell had another effect, not visible effect. It forced a sentiment of dread and fear into the man's mind, the electric shocks acting as a distraction from the true cause of the emotions.

"Tell me. Who are you, and who is that 'Master' who sent you."

Anarys exepcted the man to take more 'persuasion', but one could never tell. Fanatis tended to be fairly resistant to interrogations, but sometimes seeing their plans fail destroyed the notion that the justice of their cause predestinated them to success and made them talk almost immediately. And even if the leader proved intractable, the henchman he had knocked down might be easier.

The man howled in pain as he felt the shock of lightnign flow through him. Yerga yelled in pain, and tears ran down his face. the felt the lightning course through him, burn his skin. His wound from the argonian felt unbearable now, and with the mans age, was even worse. In the past 5 minutes, Yerga had been stabbed by the man he was sent to kill, tricked by him, felt the ultimate humiliation for having his bandages removed (for a pure, removing of the bandages was the ultimate humiliation), and now this. Yerga couldn't take it.

"PLEASE! I'll talk! I am about to die, let me speak before I leave this world!" he cried some more, "My name is Yerga, I am from The Pure. Iam the second in command to the holy Ravu, and was sent here to kill the Argonian and his Comrades. That is all I Will tell you swines though! You shall hear nothing more from me! Corruption is already consuming this city, and we can stop it! Infidels like you, though, cannot see that, and shall die like the rest!"

Yerga gave a kick as hard as he could with his remaining might to break free of the mans grip, drew his blade, and then thrust it through his own head. Yerga collapsed to the ground, dead, as the three men that he had came to kill watched.

"Pure, eh? Well, Anarys, yah did good man. We are now one step closer to solving this." Quick-Tail said and walked next to Anarys and placed his hand on his shoulder, "Too bad he took the cowards way out." Quick-Tail stepped away from the man and looked to the man with the pure white sword who was staring at the Pure, "You know anything about these guys?" Quick-Tail asked the dunmer man

As the man escaped his grip and killed himself Anarys cursed loudly. Damn, it's been a while since I last interrogated someone. I've lost my touch...

"I wouldn't call him a coward ? he had enough guts to kill himself before I could get much out of him. A true coward would have spilled all he knew and begged for his life."
He turned his eyes to the man he had knocked out, still sprawled on the ground. "I have kept this one alive. Maybe he will be more cooperative than his leader. I don't think he has much to tell about the Pure's plans, but he knows at least where he and his pals are hiding. Bu this time I'll make sure he won't be able to play tricks."

After sending the dead leader to the ground, Anarys lifted his unconscious 'patient' to the table. Then he used the man's own bandages, completed with strips cut of from his robe, to tie him to the table. Making sure he wouldn't be able to escape and could see his two dead companions. Once done, he examined his victim, making sure he wasn't in danger of dying, before casting a minor healing spell to revive him.

He greeted the man's return to consciousness him with a cold smile. "Where are Ravu and the rest of his merry band hiding in Vivec ? You are going to answer that question. How much time and pain that will take is the only choice you have in the matter.". His tone perfectly calm and matter-of-factly, stating a fact rather than issuing threats.

OOC: I was ready to respond the first time, but thought you might want to take care of that first. I'll just use the second one.

IC: Folven continued his silent observance of the events, his unease growing with every word, every movement. The fighting ended, and the Argonian proceeded to torture the man for information, first breaking his wrist, then removing the blood stained gauze from his face. As Folven had expected, the cultist gave no information willingly, only divulging the name of his master upon the Dunmer named Anarys' use of lightning magic. The robed man broke free and drew a second, shorter blade. For a moment, Folven feared he would attack again, but his apprehension was replaced with renewed nausea with the Pure cult when he turned the sword upon himself.

The others did not seem phased by Yerga's actions, 'They must be battle hardened warriors to behave so.' Instead, the Argonian leader of the small group addressed Folven directly.

"You know anything about these guys?" The old hunter searched the Argonian's reptilian eyes, hoping there he could find the answer for his current state.

"Only that they are madmen, bent on destroying Vivec for their equally insane leader. I was unfortunate enough to intrude upon their meeting last night, and lost all but my life because of it." He shook his head, the memories were still too fresh "You, however, seem to be in a worse state than I. If He wants you dead, then you stand little chance." With that Folven looked past him, to his two comrades. The Dunmer had the Pure he had knocked out on the table, proceeding to strap him down. The Breton had walked off in a haze towards the bar. "You two would be wise to stay away from this Argonian; else you get dragged into this as well."

'Odd, I must sound like the old man in children's stories. Seems to be that that is what I've become.'

OOC: Well, it seems we have all ninja-ed each other. I'll make an amendment to include your post, Manu.

All time since he had killed "his" robed man, Philias sat still, staring at the corpse on his lap, completely detached from the world around him. I have deprived a man from his life... an integer personality, robbed it of it's essential base... A man, like any one else - probably - ... What was his story? he pondered as he felt his stomach turn. Does this make me a... murderer?. He had to stand up, get some air or - more urgent - a drink.

Still oblivious of his surroundings, he stood up and got to the bar. The bar tender, as if he saw this all the time, poured some strange blueish fluid in a goblet and put it on the bar, not even showing the slightest bit of emotion. "It's on the house", he said. Philias looked at the goblet first and the strange fluid inside, with an enchanted stare he reached for it and mumbled "Thanks", before putting his lips to the edge.

Quick-Tail chuckled, "Um, sir, did you not see we just wiped the floor with these guys? We took out all three of them without even getting scratched. Whoever theseuys are, I'm sure we are a bigger threat to them then them to us. Why else would they want us dead? Cause apparently, I'm touble." Quick-Tail laughed again, and then looked at the man, "You seem like you don't like these guys either, and it seems like they made it personal with you. If you like, your welcome to tag along with our merry band. We're gonna find out who did this, and why, and stop it. Besides, if you know a good bit about them, they'll probably want you in a grave like me, and probably now my friends too. We will protect yah. Come along, man." Quick-Tail said. Then something occured to him.

"Speaking of our merry band... where's Aylia? She should have been back by now..." Quick-Tail asked. He thought about it. I bet they saw her leave the bar... oh no.

The man who Anarys had bandaged to the table was bewhildered. "I..." He thought about it. He joined these guys for the money. His wife and 4 kids were poor living in St.Olms. He Needed money, and this guy promised money in return. All he cared about was his family. And right now, this guy looked like he would kill him if he didnt talk. Screw Ravu, my family is much more important than him

"Temple district underground is where we met. Well, where i used to meet. I'm through with those guys now. Just dont kill me! I'll tell you anything! I have a family! Please, i want to see them again." He began to cry, "Please... Please let me live... I will give you anything! just let me live to see my wife and kids..." He pleaded through tears.

Having obtained the informations he wanted, Anarys thought about killing the man, the postponed the idea. I might need some more informations. And maybe give the guy to the Ordinators as a mark of goodwill. But it would be inconvenient if he runs back to daddy Ravu to spill his story...

He left the man tied "You've been cooperative and I will probably have more questions. I won't kill you unless you give me a reason for it. But if you even think about running back to Ravu, I will find and kill you. As slowly and painfully as I can, and I can plenty. If Ravu hasn't already killed you for your failure and loose lips first."

Returning to the conversation, he merely smiled when Folven advised him to stay away from the argonian. "Bah, I've knocked down one of Ravu's pets out in plain view to help Quick-Tail. No doubt he won't like me when he hears about it, and I'd rather have someone to watch my back than stay on my own.". He looked at the two dead and the prisoner. "And if these are a good sample of what he's recruiting, we can manage unless they're coming in wholesale lots."

Then Quick-Tail thought about his partner. Anarys shrugged "If she's as good with a blade as you, odds are she's simply delayed. If they killed her we'll hear of it as soon as we leave. And If they have her prisoner, odds re they're already on their way to the Temple District. Not much we can do beyond moving there fast. But first I'll have to dispose of our guest." Adding in a lower voice. "The simplest way would be to kill him, but I said I wouldn't unless he gave me a reason for it. I'd rather not break my word for mere convenience."

Quick-Tail felt a bit panicked. "If they have Aylia, what would they do to her?" the fretted argonian began to pace, imagining all the strange forms of torture he had heard of. "Oh by the gods... we have to help her!" Of course, Quick-Tail knew it was probably a trap. But his panic prevented him from seeing that. "Gah, I feel so stupid! Why did I let her go? This is my fault..." Quick-Tail sat in a chair, looking sullen. He sighed, and then looked at their prisoner. Quick-Tail walked to the man on the table and asked, "What did you do with her? Why do you want her dead!" he hissed.

The man looked confused, "Who, what are you talking about? I dont know! I really dont!" he said. Quick-Tail snarled, "You know something! You know it! TELL ME!" He yelled and thrust his fist into the mans stomcah. the dunmer on the table vomited from the blow.

"I'll talk! I'll Talk... We... we weren't the assasins." Quick-Tail looked, "What! That is your second in command! He is DEAD! And you will be too! Anarys said he wouldn't kill you, but by messing with Aylia, you have messed with me. And if you don't tell me what happened to her, I will kill you." He drew his shortsword and held it at the mans neck, "Tell me what is going on!"

The man was in total shock now, from the fact Quick-Tail was having a full blown mental meltdown. "Please! Don't Kill me! There were 5 of us. 2 assasins and us. When we saw your friend leave the tavern, the hunters went after her. We... were the distraction. And as for Yerga... Ravu wanted him dead anyways. He said that this was my last mission. If I did this for Ravu, He would give my family money to move to the imperial city! And if Yerga survived this, that I was to kill him anyways. The real assasins are after your friend. Their mission is secret. I'm Sorry! I Don't Know!"

Quick-Tail held his position a minute longer and then looked into his eyes. He saw fear, but not for himself. He saw that fear, the panic of not seeing those he cared about. Those he loved. just like Quick-Tail. Quick Tail took a step away from the table. "I..." A tear ran down his face, "Need a drink." He walked over to the bar and sat down, and waved for the bartender to bring him some brandy. the bartender gave it to him, but Quick-Tail sat silent, not touching the bottle.

He sat there for a few minutes before getting up. "We have to find her." He declared.

As he said this, an imperial man burst into the bar. "There are people, in white robes, Killing ordinators! This city is going to hell!"

Folven watched as the Dunmer interrogated the Pure. He was silent, the elf's refusal of his warning still simmering in his mind 'Fine, then you're dead too.'

Once more he merely observed the Argonian's fit of panic 'So he does have someone that makes him sweat. And now she is going to die. I doubt he'll listen to reason any longer. A pity.'

Suddenly, the group was interrupted by an Imperial man "There are people, in white robes, Killing ordinators! This city is going to hell!"

'Oh Azura, they wen't through with it!'

"No!" Folven shouted. If the Ordinators could not stop this madness, no one could. Vivec's only protection from this madman Ravu was gone. The whole of the city, including Folven, was at his mercy.

"We have to get out of here! Flee the city any way we can!" Folven hoped these young fools would listen to reason. They could not stand against an entire army by themselves, no matter how excellent of fighters they may be.

Seeing Quick-Tail's frenzied reaction, Anarys kept silent, not willing add oil to the fire. When the prisoner spoke about them being a diversion he wasn't too surprised. The trio had been particularly clumsy in his attempt. But the man's frantic babbling about getting money to take his family out of Vivec gave him a convenient way to dispose of him without breaking his word.

Drawing his dagger he cut some of the ropes, letting the mans sit on the table. Speaking in a harsh tone "This Ravu send his second in command on some fool's errand to make sure he dies, conveniently out of sight from whoever might wonder about it. And you're expecting that same man to keep the word he gave you ?

I'll tell you what will happen. If you don't die from a dagger in your back on the way, you'll be blamed for failing to kill your target and protect Yerga. And probably executed on the spot for it, before you can tell something embarrassing. As far as you family go, do you really think he'll consider them important enough to be worth the effort of sorting them out when 'purifying' Vivec ? Anything that won't be wearing a white robe and bandages will be fair game."

Then he cut free the man's leg "If you care for your family, you'd better go straight to your home and forget about reporting to Ravu."

As he heard someone yelling abut white-robed peoples attacking the ordinators, he pushed the man toward the door "Seems like the show's started. You'd better be quick to your home before it gets torched like the Foreign Quarter."

H face a panicked folven "And then what ? Wander in the countryside until he either succeed in his madness or get stopped - though with an headless Council I don't know who's going to do it. Even if they've slipped back from the Tribunal's days, the ordinators are still though nuts to crack. His best fighters will be out to fight them. That give us an opening, but we will have it only once. But we'll have to be as sneaky and mean as we can."

The man was shocked by what his interogator told him. "Your... your right! I'm getting out of here!" He Ran out of the Tavern and dissappeared outside.

"We Can't Leave, Can't You see?" Quick-Tail said, "Our actions has made us irreversably intertwined with these guys. And They've now struck personal blows, to me at least. for the sake of this city, for the sake of morrowind, " quick-Tail sighed, "For the sake of Aylia, We cannot let them succed. Besides, you leave the city, your a dead man. Whole citys on lockdown, no one gets in that isnt military, and no one gets out. strictly enforced by the ordinators. and I don't think these Pure guys are gonna let us out either. So, we have an option. Sit back and watch these guys take over the city and hide like rats, or we do something about it. And I'm not really in a mood for hiding anymore."

Hearing Quick-Tails words and tone, Anarys realized the argonian was slipping into a blind storm of emotions and sending cautions to the wind. If he remains in that mood, he's going to have us all killed.

He placed a hand on the argonian's shoulder to hold him in place. "Think with your brain, not your balls, lizard" - using the gesture and the insult to go through his rage. "You're not a thief, not a knight. And neither am I. We play for keeps, not for glory. The white-robed bastards won't be any deader if you charge them from the front than if you poke their backs, but you will be. And of no use to anyone, especially the girl."

Quick-tail sighed, "Yeah, I suppose your right." Quick-Tail took a deep breath to let out his emotion, "Alright, we need a plan. We should make haste to the Temple district as quick as possible. With the pure attacking ordinators, we may find where they are hiding without facing major restitance. Then we can find out what the master plan for these guys is. Maybe even get a shot at their leader. We better hurry though." Quick-tail smiled, letting his familiar humor return to him, "Don't wanna be late"
