Indeed. Trust me, this is merely speculation..I'm not putting much hope in it because I know the game doesnt always keep up witht he lore.

I really hope the Volkihar are in the game, they sound awesome.

And well done OP, they may very well hide beneath Lake Jorgrim if they are in the game.

By the Eight plus one, if that lake is frozen I'm going to be scared just walking over it, even if the Volkihar aren't even included in Skyrim... :P

Yeah, I doubt we'd be able to become one...though it would be epic if we cold...but I have yet to read anything that confirms the Volkihar WONT be in the game. I've even seen concept art...so it atleast means that Bethesda was considering having them in.

Vampires are already confirmed to be in game. And since Volkihars are the only vampires that appears in Skyrim according to the lore, Im sure they will be included

My thoughts, exactly..though the footage I've seen of some of the vampires in Skyrim indicates that they arent Volkihar. (Atleast they didnt look like the concept art I've seen) 200 years is a long time. I'm sure other strains of Vampire have entered the region.

Lol, thanks. Upon further inspection of Lake Jorgrim, I see that it has something that looks like floating masses of ice in it. I honestly think this could actually be where the Volkihar are. All the information seems to point to it.

I Agree.

I believe I've read a similar article...A man was talking about fighting vampires in a cave...but these vamp were using fire spells. Though I may be talking about a different article.

Yeah someone was playing the game at Bethesda headquarters and Todd supposedly said something like "You weren't supposed to get this far"

For some time now, I've been wondering if the Volkihar would be making an appearance in Skyrim. When the concept art vid was released, I saw a quick glimpse of what could very well be a Volkihar vampire. Afterwards, I quickly searched the web for a map of Skyrim in a desperate attempt at trying to see where their location may be. I found a map with Skyrim's environmental geography mapped onto it (Canyon, Tundra, Volcanic, Fall Forest, Pine Forest, ect). I then re-read the book "Immortal Blood" and found this: "The next day, he did return with more questions, these ones very specific. He wanted to know about the vampires of eastern Skyrim. I told him about the most powerful tribe, the Volkihar, paranoid and cruel, whose very breath could freeze their victims' blood in the veins. I explained to him how they lived beneath the ice of remote and haunted lakes, never venturing into the world of men except to feed" -- [eastern Skyrim, lived beneath the ice of remote and haunted lakes]. I first looked far east into Eastmarch and discovered that it contained Volcanic tundra...far too warm to have frozen lakes. [Scratch that off the list] I then went slightly north to Windhelm and decided that this would be the most likely area, but I couldn't pinpoint exactly WHERE the lakes would be. However, recently the english translation of the map has been 'leaked'...I took a look and saw a massive body of water named "Lake Jorgrim", east of White Shore. The lore as well as Skyrim's geography seems to point to this exact spot as the location of the Volkihar Lair. I wanted to see if anyone else came to the same conclusion?

Share your thoughts.

PS: I apologize if this has already been a posted topic...I also hope this thread doesnt become locked. In RARELY post anything up here and not exactly sure of the policy in terms of posting links.

You all can stop discussing the map leak and maybe discuss the OP's interesting opening post - which is cool speculation, with or without a link to a map. I would love it if the Volkihar were an enemy - love when they call out stuff like that, and Immortal Blood was one of my favorite ES books. :)

Immortal Blood was also one of my favorite ES books by far.
