How'd everyone like the newest episode

Loved it, just like the previous ones. :D

Spoiler
Too bad Francis, I mean Merl, managed to escape. He might not be very happy when/if he meets the rest of the group.

Oh by the way, if you don't have access to AMC, you can purchase the episodes on iTunes for 3.49$ each or you can buy the full season for 18$. That's what I do.

I have to agree, it is becoming rather 'LOST' like in the sense that there are too many threads left hanging after each episode. It could go out of control if they don't cut off some of those hydra-plot-heads. The thing I hate most about the show is the sense of impending drama-llama between Rick and his partner and his cheating wife. Seeing one of the Boondock Saints with a crossbow was pretty cool.

My understanding was that he jumped off the roof, cause the door was still locked when they got up there and they didn't find a body

The last 5 minutes or so... was intense.

Great episode. While I agree that not too much happens plot-wise, I like how it focuses on character development more than relying on action to progress characters.

Spoiler
What a great way to thin the current cast of characters though :P I think they showed at least 5 of them going down, with more off the camera.

That first sentence was an understatement.

I don't think I've watched a more intense scene on a TV show.

Episode 4 spoilers ahead. Don't read if you haven't watched it!

Spoiler
Wow, clearly my favourite episode so far, and it's not because of the gorefest at the end, but because of the aftermath. The third episode had a more happy feeling/regular life to it, this one completely broke that out with the last 5 minutes. I was convinced Merl might come back to camp and start a brawl, instead I was surprised to see zombie attacks and pleasantly surprised by the characters' reactions. Loved every seconds of it, and felt bad for the survivors. And the kids.

Plus, there are no longer extras in the survivor side, all eaten by the undead folks. Only the actors are left. Which is always nice. :D

Heh, actually it's the first intense scene I've seen in a zombie fiction. Not cliché, realistic.
One of the most intense scenes I've "seen" (no pun intended) (HBO's Rome spoiler ahead)
Spoiler
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7FvgP5hO99o in Rome. Especially after having spent a full season developing both Ceasar and Brutus so that you don't have any hard feelings against them. And Vorenus' reaction when he learns the truth about the child.

Yes but a confirmed, full second season! :foodndrink:

Spoiler
I don't think that was a conveniently sized pack of wandering zombies. Besides, Merl had one hand and no weapons, what damage could he have done to the few armed men?

Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Great episode, and I really appreciate that amidst the whole setting the author / director does not aim at shock horror.
Because that would make them a dike. (possible a collective dike, and thats gay)

Spoiler
I apologize if I offended any gay people.

Spoiler
Oh I wasn't talking about him trying to kill folks. But more about being an uncontrollable, berzerk fella, throwing everything around, maybe hitting someone while he's at it. :P

I also had the crazy thought of him filling the van with zombies and unleashing them on the camp, somehow... but I doubt he'd have been able to do it.

Oh, and I don't smoke thanks. ;)

Regarding horror, I would have prefered to see the girl put down on the floor while she's being eaten by the zombie... instead of standing still, yelling while her clavicle is being eaten.

Time will tell. But now that you mention it any suggestion of that could have been just pandering to the audience, of people like me.
And neither do I. :frog:

Loved the first episode and I dont care if it started out like 28 days later (I loved 28 days later as well). Since 28 weeks later was an aweful sequel I'll consider this show to be its true follow up.

Only seen the first episode (on line) because I dont have cable but I saw clips of the next 2 episodes and I cant watch to watch them.

I thought they were gonna have to do a quest for the guys in the hospital to do the person for person trade.
It would have been awesome if they had to.

I think a deal for Season 2 was made after Ep 1 aired.

Here is what I think will happen with Merl based on what's already happened in the comic

Spoiler
Merl stole the van and eventually makes his way to the village with the psycho mayor which the group encounters later on. Considering Merl's personality I think he'll find himself right at home in such an environment. When Rick is captured Merl cuts off his hand as revenge, giving the wound a bit more of a meaning for the TV version

I've only read the first comic but from just the first episode it seems to be following the story well, and the acting is good in my opinion.

I'm enjoying it.

Nice to refresh my zombie apocalypse viewing every Sunday.

Spoiler
Only thing that annoys me is that the Sheriff is an instant headshot machine in the first episode.
