The Walking Dead

I think the reason the survivors got into the CDC building was simply because the show creators didn't know if they would get a second season. And just in case they didn't, they wanted to end the series with the survivors in a safe place. Y'know?

I just hope we see more comic related stuff, though. Like,
Spoiler
Carl killing Shane
.

I do think they'll include this, or something like it because
Spoiler
Rick going back and finding Shane in his shallow grave is what proves all dead people become zombies, not just the bitten ones...

Only watched the first episode so far... really liked it.

Did anyone else notice the Xbox achievement sound after the first zombie is shot??

My wife thinks I'm crazy, but apparently I'm http://www.google.com/search?q=walking+dead+achievement+sound&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a.

So I read through Volume 1 of the comic on Sunday night and watched the episode...I really enjoyed it, both the comic and the show. I need to go back and watch the first few episodes, but I can already tell this is going to be one of my new favorite shows.

I really want to get volume 2 of the comic before Sunday (since volume 1 ends before the end of last week's episode) but I don't know if I'm going to have the chance. However the last episode seems to take a turn away from the comic so I might not be missing much if I watch the show before reading the comic. Either way, loving both!

Not at first but now that you mention it, I thought it might be the shell hitting the ground but then realized he is using a Python.

Another good episode

Found it interesting during the preview of next weeks episode you hear him say
Spoiler
That as far as he has heard the French were the longest to hold out.

It makes some sense though. They could go into the mountains, or something.

I am never not right.

Seems fairly rash. I might have to fire this Darabont guy and do all the writing myself.

I agree. Maybe I'll pick it back up again after they start fixing it up. Oh I know it's too late now with the season finale done, but may as well watch it with this good news. Now I can only hope they stick to the book a little more consistently. I don't want it railroads plot, but you know. I want to see it resemble the book, these last two episodes got all wacky. It was like cramming 4 episodes into one.

I can't believe the writers have been fired....I've really thought the writing was great. There are moments that seem a little fantastic but it's zombie fiction! There are definitely going to be moments of no reality...

Darabont was the one who fired the writers.

Yeah, I think that the writers getting fired was odd, I never found anything "Too" over the top ridiculous, and the show has to be one of the better ones I've seen in a while. Hope the new writers don't svck for season 2.

I'm also pretty excited for the season finalie.

I've watched a few episodes and it's been good. But I have no idea how this will survive more than 2 seasons.

People said that about Lost though.

"How can they do more than a couple of years about people being stuck on an island...?"

I don't see how anyone thinks that's the xbox achievement sound. Compare the two. Here's the sound http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HkExBV05_EY and here's the sound from the show. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4JD7Cliu7g

Two COMPLETELY different sounds. Walking dead has a "Kachink" chain rattling sound after the gunshot. Compared to the soft "Badoop" of an xbox achievement sound.

The achievement sound is in the background, quieter than the chain rattling.

No it isn't. There's the chain rattling. The sound of the gunshot although muffled and the zombie making a "gearrou" sound as it's shot in the head, this sound is very faint yet I can make it out clearly. The mistake is coming from the muffled gunshot combined with the starting rattling of the chain.

You have to listen closely, its very faint and you can tell its not just the chain link fence.
