The Walking Dead

One little thing that had me confused:

Spoiler
The last we saw of the father and his son in the premier, the father was just blasting away at zombies from the attic window. Wouldn't that like attract every zombie in the area to them? Isn't that like not a good idea?

I know, that bugged me a little bit as well, but from the way Morgan (the father) explained it:

Spoiler
Zombies don't have very big attention spans and don't really try to get into places unless they're in big numbers (like in the city at the end). There weren't many zombies in the area at that time, plus their house was fortified, so I guess he figured they'd be safe.

But overall he was just doing that to draw his wife to the house so he could put her down.

He was wanting to attract them, in hopes his wife would venture over and he could finally put her down.

EDIT: Seems I was a little late. Damn FF crash.

Epic show! As a fan of the graphic novels, I felt it went well and I eagerly await for the next episode.

Spoiler
I was on the edge of my seat during the tank scene. I knew he would survive, obviously, but I had no idea what he was gonna do. Haha. I love how there was no hesitation when he jumped through the hatch. Just half a second before he was gonna blow his own head off! D:

Also, it pissed me off that his wife didn't recognize the voice...

I also wondered how the dead couple wrote "forgive us god" on the wall when they blew out their brains...

Also *whistle* boom headshot!

The way it looked was the husband shot the wife, wrote one the wall, and then shot himself. That's how I understood it.

Im kind of sick of post apocalypse these days, not to mention zombies are overdone too, but the show was alright. The show had a daytime/sunny/natury feel to it as apposed to all death and decay. That probably sounds weird but it made it tolerable to watch.

No, it adds realism. The 'real' feeling of it made it much more enjoyable.

What was the deal with the
Spoiler
leg-less zombie. Why did he pretty much befriend the thing?

Also, I guarantee he woke up in that hospital 28 days after he got shot. Guarantee it, I tells ya!

I was a bit disappointed with the beginning since it seemed to be exactly like 28 days later...Thought I was watching the movie at first.

I know. I actually called BS on the show during the beginning, but I took it back after the story picked up.

Bad injury -> Coma -> Wake up -> Hurt yourself on IV needle -> Find hospital interior demolished -> Check phones (not working) -> Wander around -> Find zombies

Pretty much the whole hospital scene is the beginning to 28 Days Later.

I gotta admit i was like "omg 28 days later is on AGAIN!?" it literally too me up to the zombie door part to realize that the show had started and it wasnt 28 days.

I agree with that. I was completely expecting him to light a match right on a zombie's face in that stairwell.

Also, someone mentioned earlier that the black guy said that zombies have a short attention span. I was thinking about this in the shower a while ago and I remembered that when the little boy saw his mother he said that she was coming back "again", meaning that she had come to the door a few times before. Wouldn't this contradict the short term memory if she keeps coming back to the house?

No, because you're talking about two different things. The short attention span has nothing to do with their memory as far as forgetting, they just get bored and easily distracted.
