It's possible. Due to us coming out a short time after the blast, a lot of dirt and dust would be in the air causing blackout. Neat IMO.

Also, I had another question. Since we came out a short time after the blast than why have settlements already begun to pop up? First post said that there will be three cities located near The Warren, one having lots of people. Wouldn't people be disoriented and raiding random areas for supplies after the blast?
It was just an example, of how it would be possible for other cities and towns to develop at the same time around The Warren.

Really? Only a few weeks? Would that just be because of the intense level of radiation(since the bombs recently fell), or is that in general?

I'm just curious, because I thought it would at least generally take a few months of constant exposure to radiation before it would actually ghoulify anyone.

Not that I don't like the idea of ghouls, but wouldn't they still be...technically...sane? (Takes a while before they become feral, I'm pretty sure.)

I guess, sane or not, some humans would still be scared out of their minds and kill/hurt a ghoul they might see.

What are night ghouls, by the way? Might as well ask while this subject is still being discussed.

Basically the idea of night ghouls (which technically don't exist in the FO universe) are ghouls that are more aggressive and active during the night. However, I wouldn't consider using it as an event until several years later, when the town develops. It would be a pretty fun scenario later on.

It will essentially keep on expanding until we, as in all of us, finally decide to end it. It would eventually become a city, and even a metropolis. From there, if it somehow expands far enough, and this is very far, the city would eventually become a nation. A country formed in the wasteland of the Midwest. But this is only a dream, and the odds of that is very unlikely. As for the size, the map (which I will be making :D) will help show the size of the town as it keeps on expanding, from buildings to neighborhoods to sections split up in the city itself.

And, from what I know, JonasVault101 has the idea already planned on how it will happen. More than likely it will be a scripted event planned out by us. As for what it is, I cannot say as of right now.

Figured I'd try my luck at this rp, considering that it sounds pretty solid and the hosts are some fine fellas. Need to get myself back into rp'ing, I'd almost forgotten how much fun it was.

--------------------------

Name: Alex Winchester

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Race: Human, Caucasian.

Appearance: Slightly tanned complexion with icy blue eyes. His hair is straight and dark brown, grown to medium length, about half way down his neck. Alex has a tattoo of an owl with it's wings spread on the front of his neck. He stands at 5'11" and is built slenderly.

Personality: Friendly and outgoing. Being alone is one of Alex's weaknesses, he always has a buddy at his side.

Skills: Good at running and parkour. (Endurance and agility.)

Weapons: A 9mm beretta pistol and an old trench knife.

Clothing: A black zip up hoodie with a white v-neck underneath, along with a pair of grey skinny jeans and black sneakers, using a white shoelace as a belt.

Bio: Alex had been sitting in his backyard when the unforgettable screams of the bomb sirens rang through his ears. The only place that he could think of going was his basemant, so he took shelter there, and prayed to god that it could withstand a nuclear blast, and that his father would be okay. Little did he know, his father had been driving home from work, and was no where near any sort of accessible shelter. He stayed in his basemant for only a few days, as he quickly ran out of supplies.

Eh..this might be a little late.

But I realize I forgot to mention my character's heritage in her bio-would I be able to/should I add that now? It's nothing too big, just telling what 'blood' she has(like her older, likely dead and direct relatives might have come from a country in Europe, or Africa, etc). Though I think it effects what her life was(and, obviously, some little details about her physical self) like a bit.

I'm being very vague right now, but I'd be more specific if I edited my app. to add it in.

I don't think it'll be a big problem. It just fleshing out the character more so it wouldn't bother anyone. But, I'm not one of the GM's, so I don't know what they think.

No I can't think of a reason why that would be a problem. Besides didn't I say you could sign up or edit your character until the end? If not I'm saying it now. And who knows, it may seem insignificant, but that could determine if your in or not...Just saying.

If there was anything terrible wrong with your character, we would've of notified you. As for anything specific, I can't say. Me helping you wouldn't be fair and since the sign-up sheet isn't entirely yours anymore how would I be able to judge you fairly? Just make sure you have correct grammar, other than that you'll just have to go with what you think is right. I do appreciate how much thought you put into your character though...

Kansas it self is pretty boring for are purposes(no offense to Kansas), so it would be different even if you eagerly studied Kansas. Of course it would be similar to Fallout's geography(ruins, barren wastes.) But there will be pockets of vast flatness, but it doesn't make it very exciting if you have to walk for miles and can snipe someone from a thousand yards. Yeah, so just think of Fallout's terrain and you'll do fine...Also, since we start on a plateau , it would be good if you know what that is.

Ok thanks, its just some RP hosts dont like some things in some people's chracter sheets so was just wandering. Also i was wandering about Kansas because i thought maybe Kansas hadn't been hit as hard by the nukes like vegas.

Thank you for clearing those two questions up for me :)

Thank you for asking questions, I know everyone is not going to get everything about this Rp instantly some of it's a little foggy and it's nice to see that people that have the initiative to ask questions.

Edit: We've said before that we were going to start the Rp by tomorrow, but after re-reading some of my messages, I learned that Jonas did in fact say he wouldn't have computer access until Wednesday, so I say we postpone this until at least Thursday. I know that's another day and it's been up for a long time, but it wouldn't be right to start this thing when he hasn't even reached his deadline.

Will we have to wait till Thursday to find out who's in then? seeing as Jonas is one of the GM's right? Sorry is I'm being a pain, I'm just quit eager on this RP seems different in a good way.

Also edited my character sheet, well not edited but went over and ironed out the horrible spelling mistakes in there.

It's ok, normally I'm half decent with spelling and grammar but that was just horrible when i read it back 10 minute's ago, i mean my keyboard is a little dodgy but thats no excuse for those mistakes.

And Thursday it is then, unless you have to postpone longer, i can get some more Fallout time in! :D :fallout:

Well, I just wanted to be sure it was alright. :) I've seen a number of times where people aren't supposed to edit a profile, or anything being judged at all-or after a period of time. Anyways, I cleaned up the bio a bit and fleshed it out(hopefully not too much.)

And I'll be able to be on daily-so waiting another day for announcements is fine with me.

Also, will the RP start immediately after the announcement of who is accepted is made?

Maybe, depends on how everything is planned out. Everything is still kind of hush hush, but I would assume we would announce the people who are on board, tell them to get ready, and post the RP shortly after that.

And yes, we will have daily updates until we can get contact from Jonas, and put this thing into full gear.

Hey guys! Sorry I've been a wee bit absent, had a hell of a time getting the internet connection up and running. I'm back and still working on my sheet. I'm unable to use my much better laptop so I have to use this crappy desktop.

Anyways, on the subject of the enemies we'll face. There will be ghouls, lots of them. Raiders... I don't think a whole lot of people would become full-fledged raiders in the matter of time we leave our shelters (3 weeks I believe). We may have a hostile group of survivors armed with some meager bludgeons and knives, perhaps a gun or two, but not REAL raiders. Geckos, I don't think that kind of mutaion could occur THAT fast. Dogs, mutated wild animals, some roving bands of potential misfits and ner do wells, they will be our biggest enemies. As well as a lot of night ghouls, roaming in packs at night.

Why? Are you trying to limit how many actually make it in so it doesn't get out of hand?

Well yeah, they're picking who they're going to allow into the RP(3-6 or 7 members, I think?).

And I agree with the idea of something like early raiders(not actual raiders, but hostile groups as Jonas said) to be in the RP. I remember(again) that one ghoul character in the Underworld mentioning everyone was acting like 'wild animals,' and panicking and turning on one another.

I like the idea too. It also means we can develope the un-organized crazed attackers into raider groups ect good for th story IMO
