The Warren-Sign Up
-A collaborative Rp made by Yttrium, Silly Cat, and Jonasvault101-

Plot: A group of individuals emerge from their personal bunkers shortly after the bombs fall. Sickened by the barbarism of the world they get together to build a city that would protect people form the harshness of the wastes. They must go through many challenges as the build their city, everything from food shortage to Raider attacks.

Setting: (Kansas) The town hall (in the center of said town) will be a large movie theater called, The Warren. It is a massive two-story building with a massive parking lot that circles the entire monstrosity (by the way, this is all real, only its in Wichita). The theater itself is situated on a plateau, overlooking the city of Belton, situated 1 mile into the city. Belton is a small city, tall buildings, lots of people, ripe for raiding parties and ghoul packs who roam the night. Belton is situated near a large river, as well as I35. A multitude of roads lead up the plateau's switchbacks to reach the grand theater. The City of Killeen is a large city that is an even larger threat. Temple is another city near The Warren.

Requirements: You must be an experienced Rper, dedicated, have good grammar, and is patient. If you have none of these traits, than this is probably not for you.

Rules: I'm pretty sure we all know the rules. Just a couple remainders

-OOC pvssyr to a minimum, have any questions PM me, Silly, or Jonas and we'll answer as soon as possible

-Swearing-Keep to a minimum, no more the once or twice a paragraph

-Please, no two line posts, a couple paragraphs at least.

-Please, don't post when someone else is posting

-Please, no quitting, I'll find you

Extra Stuff:

Town Bulletin-This will be located on the first page, the first post. This will bring news and other crucial info about the town

Meetings- These happen after each person accomplishes their goals. This is were we discuss what happens next and is the only place were two line posting is allowed.

Time Warps- After a series of events or after a meeting, the time will fast forward, for the sake of realism. Building a town takes time so we need to fill the gap. These time shifts can be anywhere from 3 months to 3 years. So a young character is recommend.

Town Layout: We have a map( a link will be provided, via the bulletin) that will show the town as it grows. Of course you can shape the town layout during the meetings by offering your suggestions.

My char:

Name: Cain Johnson

Age:17

Gender: Male

I just want to ensure I fully understand everything. So before I fill in the format, I'll ask questions about whatever aspect I'm not absolutely sure about.

Name:( Nomen in latin) I don't fully understand why it's stated 'Nomen in latin'

Age: (Keep it young, by the time this is over, you'll be old)....Would fifteen or fourteen be acceptable? (I'm not sure how 'young' they should be, but I'm trying to make the character considerably so, but to an extent where they still have some ability in being of use without being guaranteed to die in doing so.)

Race:( Probably best if you were human) This is for future reference, can a character be 'ghoulified' as time passes on? I might not actually do it, but I'm curious.(Since the radiation, I'd assume, will be pretty harsh since the bombs just fell. Which, also, brings another question. How hard was the area around them hit?)

Weapons:(Weapons civilians would have, rifles and handguns are the most common, shotguns too. No civilian has access to a Fatman, at least I hope not.) This is just to clarify, to be absolutely sure, does it matter which Fallout game the weapon you have is from? Does it have to be from a Fallout game?

Bio: (Keep it simple) By simple, do you just mean not to make their history overly complicated/detailed? (That would make sense, since it can make a character a little over-done, but I just want to be perfectly sure by what you mean by 'simple' specifically.)

Nomen is my the word of the day, I also have to rember it for english. Every time i come on here I see that it has no purpose other than that. Plus you probably learned something. So, no just a normal name

Fifteen would be fine

Ghoulfication would be interesting, but the others have to agree with it.

Weapons can come from the game are in real life as long as it's seventies or later

Yes, thats what I mean by simple

Anything else?

Name: Collie Entragian

Age: 19

Gender: Male

Race: Human Caucasian

Appearance: Blonde hair in a buzz cut, Hazel Eyes, Not particularly attractive, about 210 pounds but solidly built

Personality: Calm and not very sociable. Quick learner. Obsessive. Has inherited his father's anger issues and addictive tendencies. Alcoholism is a very real possibility.

Skills: Good with machines. Knows how things work. Good knowledge of Science, Repair, and Anatomy due to his time with his father and obsessive nature.

Weapons: Generic Bolt Action Hunting Rifle. It is a simple gun, easily repaired and kept in good condition. Obsessively so.

Other Stuff: Carries a small military style backpack with a few items in it. Copies of Guns and Ammo, Science!, and a Medical Journal. A large torque wrench. A hunting knife.

Clothing: Tan chinos, wife beater, windbreaker

Bio: Collie was never too good with people. His father had anger issues and "Di'int want no [censored] of a son," so Collie learned to fight to gain his fathers love, though it never came. Branded a trouble maker in his small town, accurately enough, he was ostracized. Collie took to spending more time with his father then who was interested in little more than chasing women, working on his car, getting good and drunk, and beating his wife. Still seeking his fathers affection Collie took to the two of those interests he might maybe actually have a chance at. That'd be drinking and working on the car. He became proficient at both.

At some point his mother fell down the stairs in their single story home and went to the lord leaving him alone with his father. It wasn't long after that that the sirens started ringing. Collie had been out shooting at local wildlife, a good way to let out his frustrations, when the first bomb fell far to the North. He knew enough to know that now would be a good time to get home. He arrived home to find his father's car gone, no doubt out grieving the loss of his wife in the arms of some woman. Collie didn't know where to go to be safe but figured the basemant would be his best bet. Good guess.

Nope, that's all I needed to know, I believe. At least for now. Thanks. :)
And yes, I actually find the Latin language and such interesting-I just wanted to make sure that it didn't have any relevance to the character I'd be creating.

Name: Katherine(Kathy) Adler

Age: Fifteen

Gender: Female

Race: Human (Hispanic)

Appearance: Short(slightly above the shoulders), chocolate brown hair(highlights being more 'golden' colored(not by much)), with slight curling at the end in a ragged way. Approximately of average height(5'3"), and skinny due to little available food(about 99 lb.). Has developed feminine features, but aside from the general shape and traits(to where its clear she's female, such as how her hips are wider than her waist), she's fairly flat due to her skinniness. Has a somewhat deep, tan skin color with a reddish tint(not so much yellow), and hazel eyes. Her face's features(as well as some other physical traits previously mentioned) reflect her mixed heritage slightly.

Personality: Still suffering from the devastation of the Great War personally; otherwise generally bold, outspoken, and active. Too much so, at times; often aggressive or excitable, and can be grudging as well. Either is neutral(not very cruel, but not very generous either), or means well, in a situation(generally). Fairly young, she's still impressionable-and hasn't completely developed her independence or opinion. This is even more the case due to the fact she has a fairly more open-minded nature than the average person.

Skills: (She has some knowledge(not much) in repair and guns.)

Weapons: (Assault Rifle(If that's too powerful, then instead a 10mm pistol))

Clothing: Long jeans, ripped at the bottoms in a few spots, one hole is significantly large-the others not as much. As well as a tang top that is a bit too large, reaching past her hips somewhat and otherwise somewhat big for her of a light brown color, wearing a somewhat thick jacket over it of a darker color. The jacket is often unzipped in hot weather and, like her jeans, somewhat torn up. While it should have sleeves that reach her wrists, the left side was cut off an inch or so above the wrist after it became too tattered. Often caries a bag with her which, while barely holding itself together, does successfully carry her possessions. What she wears is what she had when she had to rush to find shelter before the bombs hit, much of it has torn from a series of moments where they might have caught onto something.

Bio: The teenager's heritage comes from either one, or both, of the Americas and Europe(possibly having miniature traces of history from elsewhere, but not enough to where its of much relevance). Her mother's side of the family has roots mainly in Mexico, with very little ancestry from Europe. The father's side of the family instead has Spanish heritage, but also has German and English blood. This is likely the reason her surname, Adler, is of Germanic origin.

It was mainly from her mother's strong personality and her uncle's expectations and support that brought her to be confident, though at times with too high of standards for herself. Kathy has long had an interest in engineering, curious about how electronics and other man-made objects function. Which, one way or another, brought her to gain some knowledge in repair and guns. In that factor, her uncle was of little influence-though he did often give the materials she might ask for.

Before the war, she was among the upper middle class-and lived a fairly pleasant life with her uncle, with few personal issues of her own. Those issues mainly coming from a poor beginning to childhood with her parents, though its somewhat vaguely remembered by her due to how young she had been at the time. Still, the events of her younger years seemed to have partially aided in developing some of her attitude. Her uncle, since Kathy had been taken away from her parents, cared for her most of her life, almost more as a father than otherwise. She had lived a mainly urban life, and she and her uncle had intended for her to go to college so that she could support herself as an advlt. Kathy's guardian had a job that often involved travel, during which the hired babysitter would care for her. However, during the fateful day of the Great War, there was little warning. Katherine had made her way into the bunkers shortly before the bombs hit a colossal number of places across the Earth. At the time, her babysitter had not been around-and her uncle on some trip. Since the Great War, she hasn't seen anyone that she knows well, and for personal reasons has been particularly traumatized by the event.

Hello everyone! I'm not sure if anyone remembers me from a while back but this seems like a new idea that this forum has not seen in a long time so if you would allow me I'd be interested in joining this RP. If you wish I could submit my character sheet to you first. Thanks.

I'm just going to put up my char sheet first then.

Name: Henry Jones

Gender: Male

Age:20

Race: Caucasian

Appearance: Henry is a slim man, at 5"11 with brown eyes and very shortly cut brown hair. He is clean shaven and tries to maintain good personal hygiene even after the bombs fell. He often has a rather confused look about him(at least until he settles in) and is quite shaken at how all law and order has been destroyed. Before the bombs fell many said he looked very educated and learned.

Personality: Henry has a strong sense of morals and enjoys educated discussions as well as reading and writing. He is generally polite to others and tries to maintain the social requirements of prewar America. If he had someone to talk to, Henry would probably start opening up and talk openly. If wronged, he would usually opt to take the more "civilized actions" whatever it may be.

Skills: Henry was a National Guardsmen at the time when the bombs fell and has some college education. He has knowledge on electronics as well from his studies in the past.

Weapons: Standard issue M16A2 and actively works hard to maintain such a fragile weapon.

Clothing: Standard issue service cap and a dusty olive drab military uniform, second rate gear in general

Bio: Henry grew up in the suburbs where his dad was a cop and his mom worked at a nearby hospital as a nurse. Having parents who instilled good moral values in him wasn't always the best thing. He would frequently get beaten up in school for standing up to bullies but eventually people respected him for helping others. When he graduated high school Henry attended college but dropped out to take care of his mom after his dad was killed in a shooting involving a local gang with his father getting caught in the crossfire. At the advice of his mother he joined the national guard to avoid getting sent away to Alaska and had just finished his training when the call came up that the country was at Defcon 1. All Guardsmen were deployed and Henry was stationed at a roadblock only two blocks from home. In all the chaos and confusion Henry slipped away to check on his mother when the sirens started blaring. Realizing he had little time he ran as fast as he could and got himself and his mother to take cover in a bomb shelter built under the local market with twenty panicked shoppers.

For several weeks they stayed there until some of the people turned on each other and the ensuing fight left all of the food supplies destroyed. Since there was no way for he and his mother to survive there Henry had no choice but to emerge from his shelter. There he had his first taste of the new reality of the wasteland. The filthiest man he had ever seen rushed Henry as soon as he emerged from the shelter. It was no longer a man but a ghoul, the ghoul struck Henry down and then proceeded to kill his mother. Bringing the Ghoul down with his rifle, there was nothing left for Henry but to leave, stopping only to bury his mother.

The first day out was absolute hell. The entire land was barren and dead, when he had last seen the land a few weeks ago it had been lush and green. He first went back to the roadblock and saw that the area did not get hit directly in the blast. With most of the equipment intact but the Guardsmen nowhere to be seen Henry did his best to recover as much as he could, storing the boxes of food and ammo underground in a hole that he dug and marked down his coordinates in his map.

When he saw a fellow human being, he first tried to greet him. However, when Henry saw that the man was trying to loot a military vehicle Henry warned him that it was US government property and that he would be shot if he did not stand down. It did not end well. The man instead took out a knife and jumped at him yelling that there was no USA anymore and how he was going to tear his heart out and eat it. Needless to say he was put down but since then it has never been the same. Henry knew that man as his old neighbor but to see him reduced to such acts shook Henry and made him realize that civilization was no more.

There wasn't any rules stating no Soldiers so I think in this case a guardsman would be fitting as after all, they are citizen soldiers.

Wow, i'm suprised by the amount of people already signing up. Whats good for all you, but bad for us is your submissions. These are all so good, it may be nearly impossible for us to make the selections. :D

Ah, Norman! Good to see you. Based on this sign up, rather than basing it off on who signs up first, we will be doing a sort of selection of the people we think will be the best for this. So, it would be best if you just posted your sheet here, for the convienence and ease. :P

Keep up the good work, it's great to see all these submissions.

Yes, I'm considering it as well. I've already sent a message to the Gm about a character idea to see if it's acceptable.

As of now, 3-6 seems to be it. It might get bigger depending if we have the dedication from all the players, and several other factors. We are not, however making it too big. Then it wouldbe a giant mess, and nearly impossible to keep everyone orhanized.

Short answer: Small compared to other RPs. (Make sure you take your time doing a good job on the sign up to increase your chances of coming in. :D)

Well once I get an answer back, hopefully soon, I will have a character sheet ready and prepared. I may need to wait until after I come home from work tomorrow evening (or even later, as I'm currently battling viruses and malware on my computer), but rest assured I will have something up and ready in a decent amount of time.

Hmm... Gotta start again somewhere and this looks excellent and well-constructed... I'll try to do my best at getting in.

Name: Andrew Cailan

Age: 16

Gender: Male

Race: Hispanic/Caucasian (Mother Hispanic and Father Caucasian)

Appearance: Andrew is slim with naturally tanned skin, approximately 5'5, around 50kg, he has a light layer of a beard growing and is planning on letting it grow. He has dark brown hair cascading over his ears and down to the back of his neck.

Personality: Andrew is and was a quiet child, preferring to turn to technology and his family over anything else; with little friends he grew cold and always turns to himself for help first.

Skills: Andrew knows some things about technology and construction, and is willing to learn more; but doesn't understand any in-depth info on construction.

Weapons: He is only in possession of a simple 9mm handgun, which was his Father's and was kept in case of emergency with little ammunition.

Clothing: Andrew wears light blue faded jeans and a dark grey shirt with the words 'Ignoring you is my way of saying I don't care' written on it.

Bio: Throughout all of his life Andrew was a loner, turning to himself and parents over everyone else and learning as much as he could. He was excellent in all of his subjects that he studied at school and was thus often shunned by most of the school. One of the girl's whom he had a crush on at the time flirted with him for a laugh and ended up hurting Andrew severely. Due to that he turned into a cold and dark figure, brewing in his thoughts and letting his feelings drop down. After a short time he was put on pills to help him, but it was feared if he stopped taking them things may go wrong.

As the bomb warning was issued to the masses of America Andrew was ushered into the bomb shelter with his parents to wait it out. Unfortunately, one of the seals on the shelter door was faulty and thus let in radiation straight into his parent's sleeping area. After two days from the bomb's falling upon the face of the US his parent's layed dead from radiation poisoning. Andrew mourned them, then packed up as much food as he could carry as well as enough pills to keep him going for a long enough time to hopefully find more. Hefting it over his back he left the shelter with tears in his eyes, hoping to find a better life out in Washington DC... Now known as the Capital Wasteland.

Name: Illiana 'Silverwind' Morgan.

Age: 23.

Gender: Female

Race: Human, Caucasian.

Appearance: Illiana has a young face, she has deep red eyes that burn with the fiery passion of her upbringing. She has long black hair that reaches down her back, she keeps this tied up in a single ponytail. She is 6'3. She keeps herself fit but is not overly athletic

Personality: Illiana is mostly quiet and relaxed when she is not doing anything, most usually in deep thought about something, she enjoys finding the beauty in simplicity. When she is in high stress this relaxed feeling stays the same, this makes her very usefull in battle as a tactician, being able to make split second descisions and making sure they work.

Skills: Strategist, Hand to hand and Minor Rifle Training

Weapons: Assault Rifle, Brass Knuckles

Clothing: Black Tank top, Light grey flak jacket, Low cut cargo shorts, Fingerless gloves

Bio: Illianas mother died at childbirth, in a family of 3 brothers and a father she grew up not knowing the loving embrace of her mother, instead she craved attention from her father who was a former marine for the United States of America, by the time she was 12 she had realised what she needed to do to gain her fathers love and affection. She begain to dissasociate herself from the other girls, she begain starting fights and skipping school.

Eventually her and her father did make a very special bond, he taught her some things he had learnt in the marines by the time she was old enough to handle a gun (16). When she turned 21 her father was asked to return to the front almost 10 years after serving, he was asked to join a strikeforce that was being sent to Alaska. He died in the first wave. Soon after that the bombs began to fall and Illiana prepared herself for the world of the future. Clambering into her fathers home made "Bunker" beneath their house, her and her three brothers prayed for survival as the ground above them shook.

Wow guys, I'm really impressed. Great job with the layout of the sign-up, very good character sheets so far, and I'm really loving the interest this is getting. I'd like to be more involved at the moment, but just to let you guys know, I'm going through a few rough spots lately (undertaking a huge move from Florida to Kansas) in my life. But in a day or two, I'll be back and in gear.

To Yttrium and Silly Cat- :foodndrink:

I'll try and get my sheet in some time today.

EDIT: And Deadlysin. Your character wouldn't happen to be a Native American would she? Its a good sheet, nicely thought out. But for this RP, it may be a bit too bad ass  (and I don't mean that in a good way). You're supposed to take on the role of a simple civilian, who has a shelter, never got into a vault, and managed to escape the apocalypse with a miracle. Your character is basically a taking on the role of the typical hard ass 'I can beat up grizzly bears!' person, who is just not right for this RP. No matter how awesome her father was, or all that, she's 23. I'm not trying to be sixist either, but somehow all of her fathers' gear was sent back to her in the states? How was this done, did he write a will perhaps? "I leave my daughter, my modified assault rifle!"

Dumb it down. You can keep one of two things, her skills, or her equipment. But not both.

Yeah, I suppose. However from i'll have to talk to Yttrium first. It just would have helped if Jonas told us about this firsthand. So I don't know what you could do to help right now, but thank you for the offer. Just hang on until I can find out.

Name: Eli Daniels.

Age: 24.

Gender: Male.

Race: Caucasian

Appearance: Ear length wavy black hair. Light stubble, shaved into a goatee. Green eyes. Glasses. Most folk would consider him handsome. Muscular, but not considered buff. He's only about 5'8, short for his age.

Personality: Eli is the friendly sort, to his friends. Anyone he doesn't know will usually get a face full of insults, which leads to the question of how he came to even acquire friends. But, he just has this charm, people like him, even if he doesn't like them. With his friends he's a Joker, a real 'Wisenhower', and if not, he turns his humor into rudeness. Other then that, he's mostly passive aggressive and greedy.

Skills: Two years as a mountain guide has given him standard survival skills i.e.: Herbalism, food foraging, making a shelter.

Weapons: 17" http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_7LS4WnHcgiw/RYwGmZt05MI/AAAAAAAAAP4/n-zu1lZIfYo/s320/machete.JPG

Clothing: http://www.liberty.co.uk/pws/images/catalogue/products/aw09nyha122001250-brown/large/aw09nyha122001250-brown.jpg, grayish jeans, red canvas shoes, old grayish-blue school gym shirt with the number 17 on the back.

Bio: Eli was born to a small family, with only one sister. His mother worked at a store and his father at a local Corvega factory. His family was well-off, enough to buy a small bunker in the back yard. He was always a popular guy in school. Football, honors, track, always had a new fling. He never really enjoyed it, but did it because anything else seemed below him. After High school he became a small time guide in the mountain ranges near his hometown.

He was about to move away four days before the bombs hit. He'd already moved his belongings to his house, in Arizona. The only thing he had at hand was his machete he used to cut down a weeds or poisonous snakes. The day the bombs fell his family was out while he was home moving boxes when he felt the Earth shake. He quickly grabbed anything he could, as the bunker was already filled with rations. He shut the door, sealed it, and listened to the Nuclear thunder above him.

Hey Yttrium and Silly Cat. Jonas asked me to help with the RP. Is it okay with you guys if im added to the list of collaborators?

I can't actually remember you contributing much. I brought up the idea, the setting was argued by a lot of people, mostly me and Silly, and Jonas came up with the actually setting. I wrote the plot, and Jonas and Me got the first scenarios together. I can't remember you helping much, If you got mention, why not ShadowStrike, Gunner, or DB? They helped out some too, from my standpoint more than you.

Is it too short?

Name: Jonathan McCarthy (Bringing him back from the dead!)

Age: 16

Gender: Male

Race: Human, Caucasian

Appearance: Jonathan is not a very muscular man, but he is fit. With brown eyes, black hair and standing at around 5'10” Jonathan has shaggy hair and a stubble. (He recently stopped shaving)

Personality: He is usually quiet around people who he hasn't gotten to know better and will try his best to not strike up a conversation first. Jonathan is loyal to his causes and beliefs and believes that people should be treated with equity and fairness. He is highly loyal and faithful to his trusted comrades. Sometimes he likes to spend time alone to sort things out in his mind clearly.

Skills: Has some knowledge in medicine; he's also dabbled in writing, taking journalism while in high school

Weapons: An old Cleaver

Clothing: a pair of goggles, a small scarf around his neck, red and black flannel shirt, black jeans, and dirty black and white converse with a black shoelace on his right shoe and a white one on his left.

Bio: Jonathan's life was alright for him. His parents earned enough to survive and made sure Jonathan went to the best schools and learned the subjects that would profit him the most in the future. They gave him a choice between either studying law or medicine, and he chose medicine, specificly ER medicine.

For him law sounded boring and ER medicine seemed fast paced, at least that's what it looked like on TV. He also took some journalism, but that's because his friends persuaded him to enter the class, and it was actually pretty fun for him. When the bombs fell he took shelter in a small bomb shelter behind his home with his parents but they weren't adequately supplied so they had to leave early.

We aren't accusing you of anything, we were just curious as to why we should give you credit, as Jonas never told either of us about you helping out. I'm just confused about this right now, that's all. Of course, the break between then and now has probably meant Jonas will be online sometime later anyways, so we will find out eventually. :P

And it's good to finally have the forums back, for the short two and a half days it was gone. :stare:

So, I will post my sheet up very soon. Just waiting for someone else to post so it won't look like double posting.

Oh, and to DB, it's fine. :D

It felt a lot longer than two days...x) I wanted to keep up with this topic, so when the site went down I wasn't too happy. The looks of the site are very nice now, however. :) I love the updates to it.

More on topic, however-I was just curious when the decisions would be made to who's going to be accepted into the RP? Not trying to rush anyone or anything, but I don't know if there's a particular date where no one can make another bio after, or if it depends...or what?

That's a good question.

Well first, I have to wait for Yttrium and maybe Jonas to respond. Then, we would have to make the decision when to set the deadline. Until I get that response, it's up in the air. Of course, for anyone reading this, that doesn't give you the chance to procrastinate. So get cracking, and put that character sheet up!

Whoa I'm surprised at how much I missed before I could respond. Anyway, I just wanted say that it seems like this new Rp and the new forums looks is just what this forums needs! We're seeing the return of a lot of good talent here.

Mainly I think its because the setting is more fresh, instead of making it 200 years after the war, having the setting take place in the immediate aftermath leaves lots of new possibilities and excitement to be had. Now I'm just starting to get worried that I won't get in!
