The waters of oblivion

what do you think the battlespire traitor meant when he was talking about a crisis comeing with the waters of oblivion recedeing.

here is the original texts.
"why have I been kept waiting? Lord dagon will wish to see me imediately. The portents are most propitious, but a crisis is comeing, and we will wish to take the tides at their flood."

"this is unacceptable! This is but the calm before the storm. The tides of magic are at the remoest ebb. His lordship must be prepared to ride them at their flood, or all may be lost."

"the fate of the realms and all that is in them is affected by the ebb flow of magica. out there in the void, the waters of oblivion have receded far from the shores of the mortal and immortal realms"

and imago storm says
"in taking battlespire, our clan has overreached its resources and judgements. a time of change is coming -- it is written in the firmament -- and it is time to make fast and conserve our realm, not to extend our grasp. battlespire is a rich resource, and will e coveted by the other clans. we do not need such distractions, especially as the storms of change come upon us. is that clear?"

what do yall think they mean by all this?

You sure do like to hop in the "way back machine"

We know that they were refering to the Oblivion crisis (TES IV) what with the opening of Oblivion gates and the whole Daedric invasion fanaggle...

Here's to hoping a shiney new splash page appears sometime soon...

It looks like foreshadowing to some future crisis, which unfolded in TES: IV.

If it's a threat related to Oblivion, my first guess would be that it's referring to Oblivion. Bethesda seems to like to put forshadowing for future games into the Elder Scrolls games, Morrowind had some talk of trouble with the Imperial succession, and in Oblivion, the Emperor and his heirs get assassinated, granted, the actual crisis that this caused was not quite what the rumors suggested, but it still seems that Bethesda may have already considered doing a story related to such a subject when making Morrowind, and then there's the End of Times cult or whatever they called themselves in Tribunal. It waits to be seen whether anything in Oblivion is foreshadowing for future games.
