What is so particularly special about Vivec? He stole the power of a god to become like-a-god, only to be broken back to his natural state by another mortal a few millennia later. Why is this thief afforded so much significance? Because of CHIM? He's hardly the only one to have achieved that.

He's the first. Everyone else who achieved it since is just him anyway. Plus he broke the Kalpic cycle by arriving before his time, according to that one piece of Velvet.

I can't find the link, but there were these forum posts, most likely by the devs, which were formatted as letters between some fellow named Chimere Graygen (?) and some other guy. These letters claimed that the Tribunal really were supposed to be the next Kalpa's versions of their "anticipations"
