Hello,

I've just started playing The Well of Minlorada, and I am completely stuck at the very beginning of this quest.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD

So far, I found the charred corpse, took his charred journal and read it, and then opened the Ayleid cask and took out the Ayleid scroll. I got a message that I will need to find someone to translate the scroll for me, but there is no clue as to whom.

I explored the Ayleid ruin where I found the scroll, and inside I killed a zombie, a lich, and a necromancer adept. I looted the Welkynd stones, as well as the various casks and coffers inside. I searched every dead body, and also the underwater area in the middle of the ruin. I can find nothing that relates to the quest here.

Reading the charred journal, it seems the victim was preparing to head to "Darius' house." I've searched every city and the whole countryside, and can't find a house belonging to someone called Darius.

This is the very beginning of this quest, and I have absolutely no clue how to proceed. Am I experiencing a bug? Have I overlooked something obvious?

Thats odd, I did have that mod once and I thought he was outside of Chorrol.

Darius' house is due East of Chorrol. There should be an undiscovered map marker visible when you get around that area. It's a big Imperial City-esque house in the middle of the Great Forest.

Awesome! I will look again. I've been back and forth between Chorrol and the Imperial city several times looking for the house, but haven't come across it yet, nor any map markers. I must have missed it somehow.

I will report back with my findings.

Okay, so I found Darius. His house was somewhat northeast of Chorrol. I'm a little embarrassed to say that I'm stuck again! I've talked to him, and he only has one topic, in which he describes how he left the Mages Guild, but is still on good terms with them. I got the translation book, as well as the book on Minlorada. Read them both. Found the key, and opened the ancient Ayleid cask in his sleeping quarters, and took the Ayleid carving.

I don't know if I'm just being obtuse, but again can't figure out what to do next. Do you have a walkthrough for this mod? I'd hate to keep bothering you with questions.

A walkthrough should be present in the zip file in two separate formats. Has the quest started? It should have, once you picked up the Ayleid Scroll in the chest outside of Elenglynn. I don't believe Darius has any dialogue option to progress the quest until the quest has started.

Interesting. I initially extracted the files using 7-zip. It didn't extract the walkthrough.

I just extracted it again using the default Windows 7 "Extract All" option, and now I have the walkthrough file. Hopefully I won't have to bug you anymore!

Okay, I think I may be experiencing some kind of bug after all. Darius never tells me to go to the Arcane University to retrieve an extended edition of The Firmament, as indicated in the walkthrough. I'm wondering if the initial 7-zip extraction screwed up the mod somehow.

I'm going to reinstall it, and load an older savegame to see what happens.

Okay, I reinstalled it and backtracked. The problem persists. As far as I know the quest has started. I can't get Darius to tell me to go to the Arcane University. I went anyway, and the updated copy of The Firmament is nowhere to be seen in the lobby.

All Darius will talk about is the one topic I mentioned.

Unfortunately, the book won't appear in the Arcane University lobby before the quest gets triggered, in hopes of avoiding someone picking it up and misplacing it before they were supposed to and thus losing it forever.

Open the console with the ~ key and type in:
setstage 01MinloradaQuest 25
And then go from there.

That is a glitch that some people experience and some people don't and I've never been able to figure out why. If anyone has any ideas, let me know.
