But still the community was great, they certainly didn't do much effort to patch the game and still the community wasn't as complaining as it is now.
So with Crysis 2 - a whole different game that i think has nothing to do with crysis at all. I can remember i said this like ... many times throughout the checkout and DX11 a bit.
You did this to your self Crytek - you had great PC reputation and exploiting consoles has ruined that, with that kind of marketing you just brought another breed of PC people - that extremely enjoy complaining when they don't get what they want. But just look back and see HOW much did you support Crysis1 when there was NO complaining at all.
I haven't been on this forums since Crysis 2 got out .... i am just too old for console ports sorry. I ain't complaining, i just didn't give a rats ass, and that's what most people did, these complainers should be the new guys but they do remember crysis on PC and that's what you get when you screw with PC people - a ton of bad press, a ton of complaints, a ton of that.
Crysis is a too precious brand to be consolized, i didn't knew what to do, if i was a 10 year old kid i would burst into tears, seriously how can a masterpiece be that abused and put into console world and strapped with the ala call of duty style multiplayer, the mp is a CODrollercoaster, a mixup of some 5 different casual trends that make it so annoying that i played for 15 minutes and i basically couldn't be more astonished as how it played similarly to MW2 mp (which i also played for 10 mins, and one SP playthrough). My brother and i were really looking forward for Crysis 2, when he one day tried the demo MP, i come home and he told me to try it, we were mixed and kind of meh, canceld the PC preorder what else can we do, we were kind of disappointed so no much talk, **** happens, and it was pretty much forgotten in 2 weeks.
We liked Crysis 1 multiplayer - however a huge potential YOU NEVER SUPPORTED. More modes, maps, airplanes, fixes , optimizations, no ... took 3 years to find out that PC games SELL OVER TIME.
I remember when they joked about april fool about the community suggestions "jet airplane" was for me the most wanted vehicle.
Crysis was a such big game you could create so much more compelling stuff in it. And replayability was one of the highest in PC gaming - that's QUALITY. Crysis (Maximum edition) is still selling on Steam , it's on 6# place of top 10 sales for the last week.
Next time create a another separate IP as a console exclusive.
And next Crysis better be PC exclusive.
Multiplatformers never worked, never will, unless there are 2 different products with the same name.
As far as the "delayed DX11 update" for Crysis 2 goes, the game has probably been rushed in time for the EA march fiscal year end, Crytek broken under the EA pressure - another mistake. Find another publisher then.
One more advice: You don't need to screw PC marketing in order to make console version sell - this is a half-baked strategy. @bethesda @ragegame ; they put all efforts on marketing that only attracted mainstream whiners and sold most on consoles, now they say "see how PC sold weak, we told you" - obviously. It's not weak platform at all , it's inability of the industry to create something PC would want to buy. They're making more reasons not to buy the game for PC every week with weird comments and negative atmosphere.
