The Witcher 2 Debut & Witcher 1 Discussion

Wasnt 1 being released on the 360 or was it canceled ?

They ended up canceling - reasons are unclear - either they just couldn't do it, or a deal or something broke down. I forget, though i remember reading something about it at the time. It was called the Rise of the White Wolf, which you can google for a clip.

I just got the Witcher, and was really surprised how the game pulled me in. It really wasnt what I was expecting at all. Im definitly going to get the Wticher 2, the main char is just too cool xD

First off the graphics were better than I thought they would be, combat as well, though different, is still fun, and I like the new talent system, makes you want to keep playing to get strong in the areas you like to play in :)

The story is rather good so far too, and the option to make some decisions in game def a plus.

Anyway, importing saves from Witcher 1 into Witcher 2 = good stuff. Looking forward to it.

Is there any truth to that rumour? It'd be an entirely logical feature, since the Witcher was in part a character-driven game, but I haven't been able to find anything to indicate that it's being done.

EDIT: Ah, I think I found the source: http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&sl=pl&tl=en&u=http://polygamia.pl/Polygamia/1,95338,7695190,Zaden_plotek_nie_zatrzyma_Geralta__czyli_nasze_wrazenia.html&rurl=translate.google.com.au&usg=ALkJrhgolnBD0lNuvOBkr8L00cI7JkJQcw
Do love a good bit of auto-translation. "It will be 'cooler than in the single scull'" indeed!

I'm also wondering how they're dealing with the http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BagOfSpilling. Most of the equipment we're seeing Geralt with doesn't look that much like the stuff he had in the first game, but that may just be an art upgrade. I'm also hoping we don't get reset to level one. That bothers me inordinately much, though I've played few series which to are the same character each time.

Incidentally, they recently updated the website with a bit more info: http://tw2.thewitcher.com/#news/item_5406231
Looking good Dandelion!

Genius! The thread i was wanting to find!

Well someodd months ago i had finally beaten the witcher on hard, >< GOD that was satisfying when i whupped the king of the wild hunt's ghostly butt. That was not only challenging, but strangely FAR MORE enjoyable

Instead of feeling like this grossly overpowered god, The fights were actually more fair for the sorry foes who came across (normally i'd stand there and wail, guess what? I'm performing every acrobatic trick in the book just to keep a superior position!)

As alchemy, well i got a tad bit OBSESSED and would systematically hunt down each and every book, scroll, reagent and base i could get my dirty paws on just to be able to survive those fights (lost count on how many times i died fighting The Beast)

I'm gonna do another playthrough of The Witcher, but I'd like to know if there is any way to bind the mouse wheel to scroll through my magic signs. You can't bind the mouse on the controls screen, is there a config file I can edit to achieve this?

I wonder when the release is? Didn't even give a rough timeframe.

Nuff said

Ugh reminds me, I bought the enhanced edition and have still yet to install it. :(

I really should do that too.. though number two really does look great!

Edit: In goes the original install disc - forget homework :)

It's awesome. I DL'ed the Enhanced Edtition when I found out it was for free. I bough the original buy if I had to the self in the middle I could have gotten the Enhanced Edition for the same price. Saw it when I left the store :(

Given the relatively small number of developers who think of the PC market these days as the primary one we have to prove them wrong once again by showing our support for the Witcher 2. One thing we have to make sure is that the Witcher does not become a console oriented series because it isn't profitable enough. If you are a PC gamer make sure that you buy this one on the day it is released. We couldn't even be bothered about Crysis, it can even become a console exclusive for all we care, it is just another generic shooter, but give us a great RPG that is made for the PC because this is exactly what we need.

Hopefully, this time around the voice-acting and the dialogue won't make me cringe. The first game was so awful in that regard I couldn't take anything seriously. Geralt just kept delivering the lines in that monotone of his. A shame. :/

Kill the tentacles, then smack the head around. The tentacles on the grates are immortal, don't try to kill them, and use your silver sword.

I know, tried many times, getting my butt handed to me most of the time. Using group silver on the tentacles and then strong on the head, but the head deals me loads of damage :brokencomputer:

Medium. I've finally killed it, why it was so hard is due to the facts that I haven't got the Raven armor... :nope:

I ordered a new copy of The Witcher from Amazon yesterday for $10.00. And I even found a new copy of Morrowind for $5.00 on Amazon since I lost my original CD :nope:

The E3 videos I found all show the same thing (encountering the elf in the forest, or a demonstration of the village and throwing enemies off the cliff). Are there any more?

Heh, that post of mine you quoted was from months ago, they have since come out with a release window, early 2011 as has been noted here. :)
