The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a story-driven next-generation open world role-playing game, set in a graphically stunning fantasy universe, full of meaningful choices and impactful consequences. The world burns as the Empire of Nilfgaard pierces through the heart of the kingdoms in the north. Geralt of Rivia is pursued by an enemy devoid of mercy—the Wild Hunt, a mythical cavalcade of ghastly riders, harbingers of doom and destruction, capable of destroying entire settlements overnight. Driven by a deeply personal agenda, Geralt must navigate a maze of hostile forces to find and protect the one described in an ancient prophecy.

In the end, after everything is said and done, I want to see a single snowflake dropping down from the sky.

Just to know that Jacques de Aldersberg was right.

This has GotY written all over it. Only 2 games this year with instant pre order for me. This and Bloodborne.

Over 100 hours gameplay, IMO this kind of long gameplay just fit games like TES. After all you're Role-Playing and the exploration factor is vital in TES.

I am very much looking to play The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt once I purchase it once it releases for sale on May 19th, 2015.

I mean every thing I read so far about The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has gotten me very excited, the last time I was this excited was in 2010 when Todd Howard announced The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, but I know for sure I will be playing The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for more hours than I played The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, because The Witcher video games have better stories with consequences depending on the actions you make during the quests compared to what The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has. The video game world map having no loading screens, unless you Fast Travel, Novigrad seems to have 2,000+ NPC's each with their own schedules like being a bandit, prosttute, etc. Monster NPC's to kill under water, treasure to find under water, some random even that might trigger a quest, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt looks like it will let Geralt of Rivia use more than just swords, but axes, crossbows, and possibly many more types of weapons, like maces, etc.

I mean everything I read about The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt each month is what The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim should of been minus having a set Player Character (PC).

I even think I will not be excited for new Fallout and The Elder Scrolls video games instead I will be excited for more video games that CD Projekt RED announces, lets hope Bethesda Game Studios tries harder this time and tries to beat CD Projekt RED.

I don't really get excited for many video games, but this has just got me wanting it very much to play.

This is the positive effect that can happen if The Witcher 3 is a huge success, it will influence and push other developers to raise their standards and do better.

Considering how many people give out their GOTY awards, that's not really impressive. I'll be completely honest. But I agree, it will probably win quite a few.

Yeah, It's good to know that the game will give me plenty of fun for my money.

Yeah, I'm really interested in seeing their future projects, we haven't seen a lot of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P99qJGrPNLs, but I am pretty excited. CD Projekt RED just seem to put so much love into their games, and they treat their customers right.

Yes me too, there seems to be a lot of enthusiasm and anticipation for TW3, more than for any other recent game I can think of in this genre. Purchased a new 40" TV yesterday partly in preparation for TW3 and a couple of other games so I'm fully prepared for the action. Pre-ordered the game a couple of weeks ago and sometimes when I pre-order I have received games before their release date, only a day or two early but it's nice when it happens. Roll on May 19 so we can all get started!

Congrats on the new TV. If you do happen to get the game early let us know how good it is but without revealing spoilers of course ;) I'm going to have it pre-loaded so I'll be ready to jump in on May 19.

Good plan there, I only sometimes get them a day or two before the official release date and if I do, I won't post any spoilers of course. :D

Well, I'm done with dentist expenses for now. Guess who got home and yelled "Let's pre-order this [censored]!" at his computer screen?

Not me, yelling at your screen is [censored] weird. I did have enough money to pre-order though. Yes I am quite happy about it.

In tangentially-related news (which is about a month old now), the second book, The Sword of Destiny, http://www.gollancz.co.uk/2015/01/gollancz-acquire-three-more-witcher-novels/

I usually do not pre-order games but TW3 is an exception (as well as Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Zelda games), so I acquired it. I didn't get the collector's edition even though I wanted it, but it most likely won't have a Steam key. So I bought it via Steam store. Looking forward to May and by then I'll have my new PC rig built. Can't wait to play it on max settings and possibly stream it.

Yeah, I got in on GoG though, I got a loyalty discount for having the other titles there, and I didn't have enough money for a CE, damn those CEs are expensive nowadays.

Cheers mark, been working really hard just lately so figured I should treat myself. I had a 32" for about 7 years and decided that I wanted a bigger new one this year at some point. Been playing AC4 Black Flag on Xbox one on it and it's awesome. The graphics look so much better on the new tv and so much better than my old 360.
Happy with my purchase and really looking forward to TW3 now!

I'm going to stay away from most news about the game untill its release. and check different reviews on it. after I got exited about assassins creed 3 (native american aspect had me Intrigued) I got burned the game was ridiculus and the same about modern warfare 3. (I loved modern warfare 2) now I don't see the witcher 3 in the same light bt none the less I'm being carefull the amount of hype for this game staggering.

Meh, I got a discount, and a soundtrack. As long as it's equal to or better than the first one (which I am currently wrapping up, think I'll be done today or tomorrow) I will be happy. And if nothing else, I will own one of the prettiest games out there.

I loved the second one. It had big improvements in just about every area. The game world was beautiful and so well crafted it made me wish it were an open-world game so that I could see more. The Witcher 3 will grant me my wish, in a way, since it is open-world and looks like The Witcher 2 but with better graphics. I didn't hesitate for a second on the pre-order, first day, first chance I got. I was expecting to pay a lot more but got a loyalty discount for owning the previous 2 games. I would've gladly paid for DLC too but CD Projekt RED wants to give it away for free. :foodndrink:

Well, I started Witcher 2 yesterday, not quite sure how I feel about the UI, I feel like it was easier to maneuver through the menus in the first game.

The combat is different too, I don't mind the changes, but I kinda have to master a new system again. But so far I am enjoying the game, despite dying like a little [censored] every 5 minutes or so. I kinda miss group style combat. :P

There's no shame in starting on easy because the combat can be difficult to learn. I recommend spending a couple hours in the arena to get used to it. A friendly tip - the game has a fork in the road that will give you a different set of quests and perspective for the second half of the game. I recommend creating a save so you can go back and choose the other path to see what you've missed.
