The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a story-driven next-generation open world role-playing game, set in a graphically stunning fantasy universe, full of meaningful choices and impactful consequences. The world burns as the Empire of Nilfgaard pierces through the heart of the kingdoms in the north. Geralt of Rivia is pursued by an enemy devoid of mercy--the Wild Hunt, a mythical cavalcade of ghastly riders, harbingers of doom and destruction, capable of destroying entire settlements overnight. Driven by a deeply personal agenda, Geralt must navigate a maze of hostile forces to find and protect the one described in an ancient prophecy.

Upcoming Expansions

^

Hearts of Stone

...will take Geralt on an all-new 10-hour adventure into the wilds of No Man's Land and the nooks and alleys of Oxenfurt.

Hired by the Merchant of Mirrors, Geralt is tasked with overcoming Olgierd von Everec -- a ruthless bandit captain enchanted with the power of immortality.

Caught in a thick tangle of deceit, Geralt will need all his cunning and strength to solve the mystery and emerge unscathed.

It introduces new characters, powerful monsters, unique romance, and a brand new storyline shaped by gamer choices.

The expansion also introduces a brand new system of Runewords that significantly affects gameplay.

Each Runeword will impact a different aspect of in-game mechanics and will allow the players to experiment with various strategies and tactics.

v

Blood and Wine

The Second Expansion to Action-RPG The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt created by CD Projekt RED. This time we accompany Geralt during his stay in Touissant – one of few countries in The Witcher’s universe still untouched by war.

However, under the veil of carefree idyll the city hides a dark, bloody secret. Investigating the mystery is another task for the White Wolf. Just like in the first expansion, new content does not end with new missions.

The add-on also features new items, characters, and monsters. According to the developers’ estimate, Blood and Wine offers over 20 hours of gameplay.

Hearts of Stone release date: 13 October 2015, while Blood and Wine is slated for 31 May 2016.

Both expansions will be available on all three platforms: Playstation 4, Xbox One, PC.

*******

The Witcher 3's paid DLC expansions will be available as part of the game's Expansion Pass, which will retail for $24.99

If players want to purchase the add-ons separately, Hearts of Stone will cost $9.99, while Blood and Wine will cost $19.99

Gwent

Gwent is a collectible card game you can play in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. It puts you in a role of a general battling an enemy army with your own customized deck of cards.

These cards can be obtained throughout the game world: bought at shops, acquired from NPCs after winning gwent matches, or won in high-stakes tournament in Novigrad.

Each player must have a full deck for at least one faction to participate in a game of Gwent. This includes a minimum of 22 unit cards and a maximum of 10 special cards.

These unit cards can be made up of faction-specific units or Neutral cards, and if a player has more than 22 cards, they may choose to omit them from their deck in favor of drawing a better hand.

Thank you for starting a new thread Mark.

Do we have any news on CDPR's plans for a limited creation kit? If I remember right it was not going to be anywhere near as powerful as BGS's CK.

I think they released the tools for making mods, and sadly the tool is quite limited. I think that was back in September or something like that. I think that is one of the reasons not that many mods have been made for the W3.

Yes, these tools are limited and have a steep learning curve - which is most likely why we don't see as many mods as some of you would expect.

However there is an interesting site on CD project RED forums. May be worth looking: http://forums.cdprojektred.com/threads/61433-The-Tutorial-Compendium?p=2100530#post2100530

Last year someone leaked an old build of the REDkit for The Witcher 3. Yes, a http://redkit.cdprojektred.com/en/home. It was on the Nexus briefly and some modders managed to grab it before it got removed. But they weren't able to get it to work with the current build of the game. Anyway, CDProjekt RED was working on one as originally planned. Why they stopped during development is anybody's guess but I think the most probable cause was they encountered a major roadblock and had to scrap it. I haven't been to CDPR forums in months but there was a thread about the leaked REDkit and last I know they were investigating the source of the leak.

My guess is that CD Projket RED will release more flexible mod tools after they finish developing and releasing the Blood and Wine expansion pack for sale and the last remaining patches and DLC's if they will develop anymore DLC's at all.

A CD Projekt RED employee said what was it in 2015? That they want a flexible modding tool similar to the PC version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim's Creation Kit for the PC version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

At least I hope that is what CD Projekt RED is planning to do.

So the most important question there is in the Witcher series.

Triss or Yen?

I can't decide....

That's a no brainer. Yen.

It is unfortunate the game does such a bad job of explaining you and Yen's relationship.

Besides Triss used your loss of memory to get into your pants. Do you really want a girl like that. Triss and Yenn are friends. With friends like that who needs enemies.

That's a topic that causes so much drama. For a while you weren't allowed to discuss it on CDPR forums because fan-boy wars would break out and the moderators got tired of cleaning up threads. If you were to follow Geralt's pattern in the books he always goes back to Yennefer and they were never technically broken up - only separated by an outside force. Some book fanatics will cry lore_raqe if you choose Triss (again, drama) and believe the player should not be given a choice in this matter. But thankfully, CDPR are more sensible and this is a game afterall that let's you make decisions for Geralt. I don't dislike Yennefer but I choose Triss because I like her and her relationship with Geralt a lot more. I agree with Doug Cockle's (English version Geralt) view on this:

https://youtu.be/GTsy43v2wIA?t=1034

https://youtu.be/GTsy43v2wIA?t=2055

https://youtu.be/l1Dtr6SuKB0?t=3024

In the end choose the one you like best. There's no right or wrong answer - only your decision. Your Geralt will have a different ending of course.

So would I want a beautiful buxom Redhead who craves six with me? Uhhh... would Geralt?

So I take it that the Triss and Yenn debate is basically the Witcher 3 equivalent of the Skyrim Civil War debate.

Of course I already know what happens if you try to choose both, which to say is something really unpleasant for Geralt.

I felt like Geralt conveyed perfectly the reason for choosing Triss over Yen when he explains to Ciri that with Yen it was "fight after fight, lots of arguments, drama...it got to be exhausting. With Triss, it's not." I went with Triss because I felt like I was making the choice I would make in real life when presented with the same options. There's only so much a man can put up with, ya know?

I think they just mean that it's the last story DLC and the last adventure of Geralt - i.e. no more expansions and no more games with Geralt.
