The world disappoints....

Post » Wed Mar 05, 2014 8:59 am

I grew up thinking since Skyrim didn't charge a fee, and since air was free, and walking was free if you had two legs and if you didn't, there was always a wheelbarrow or skates or rides with my buddies. And I could alternate eating free at all my friends houses every evening and eat there and then use their phone and watch their tv and so that was all free, and then public pools were free if you just snuck in when they weren't looking and everyone knows that the water is free cause its always there and stuff, but then I went into the software store free and the dude that worked there said that ESO was gonna charge a FEE and I said NO WAY and he said way and I said no way and he said way, so Im now kinda sad thinking about how the sun is free and the air is free and the dude said that this wasn't going to be free and I said no and he said it was gonna cost money and i don't need money and he said yes I did and so I said well ok but this isn't right and so I said ok, and so Im kinda sad... And so... the world disappoints.... sarcasm/off

Well service and content are not free, Skyrims addons Dawnguard and Dragonborn were not free either. Dont expect your ISP to give you internet connection for free, thats service as well and everyone does pay for it. Enjoy sun, it is free (unless you live in UK, we dont get to see sun often here).

Capitalism is short for Capitol.

Capitol means money.

Money is a form of paper that signifies a certain denominational value of precious metals, err, well it used to anyway.

Now we use something called Fiat, which essentially means the value of currency is directly valued upon what the world economy states it is worth through our labor forces.

Anyway we trade these pieces of paper to people in exhcnage for labor. That labor can be a service such as making you a Hamburger.

In the case of Elder Scrolls Online that labor is in the form of content.

The people who draw the art, design the quests, voice the characters, balance the PvP need money in order to continue to exist. They need money to also buy services like hamburgers.

You want Massive Multiplayer with people all over the world in a huge fantasy world? Then it costs dough.

Sorry kiddo we are not living in a post resource based economy. We don;t have robots making our burgers just yet. We are still limited on the number of resources based upon the condition of our non interstellar travel capabilities. We havent even started to mine asteroids as of yet so we have only the resources that are on Earth, and only the people to get those resources.

Once we have super robots and interstellar travel we can have no scarcity, and then video games will be so good we will be living in the Matrix.

No john you are a zombie.

And then John was a demon.

promised a story too, here goes

Was questing along in morrowind way back when the game of year version was out...

Came across a man at a crossroads had to do an errand for him, deliver 5 shirts to a vendor, naturally I picked it up and continued on my way he did though make me swear on Zenithar to complete the quest.

So I got pked err powned by some cliffracers and needed to make repairs as I had not any hammers. My gears borked and barely made it to a town, and approached a vendor, the vendor would not commerce with me, no business, I had offended Zenithar?

So I try another vendor same thing, and so on and so forth. Needless to say quite the frantic panic trying to figure out what had happened... ah that dude back there made me swear on Zenithar god of commerce to deliver the 5 shirts and I could not buy or sell until I had.

Zenithar god of commerce, Zenimax lord proprietor of Teso, dost command thou knave, to purchase game time to play Teso and that is how it is.

Not sure some people got to the sarcasm/off part. He's trolling the pro-F2P folks.

I have a job, and the minimal $15 fee per month for a game that gives decent content updates is a pittance for the amount of fun I think I will have playing it. I've been in betas since November and the job ZOS has done is beyond awesome.

I expect the mods to lock this thread soon as the F2P/P2P thread is getting old.

New Topic: Who would win in a street fight, Balreth or Doshia? Discuss amongst yourselves.

BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP You WIN!!!!!!! Im not sure if Trolling is more correct than making fun of, but You WINNNN!!!!!

And I also agree that its a pittance to be so upset over thus the parity of and sarcasm to, which MOST didn't even get when they "got to" it.... LOL

Dame Sally: '"Yes, I will marry you" cried Geraldine. "I will! I will!". The End. How many pages?

Miss Grace: Um, twelve.

Dame Sally: Oh. '"Do you know the Bible?" said Lord Harper. "No," said Geraldine. "I've never even heard of it." "Oh, it's really good. Let me read it to you," said Lord Harper. "Oh, OK then," said Geraldine. "Chapter One. Genesis. In the beginning God created heaven and earth..."' You'll find the rest of the Bible on the shelf, Miss Grace. Wake me up when you've finished.
