Patches are only for the good of the game
To enhance the experience
And most of all to not use things in ways which they were not meant to be used...

I've never exploited that glitch. I don't see what the point is.... There are only 5 billion weapons out in the wastes.

I can still use the glitch even with the GOTY.

@mpls Big Daddy

This glitch will provide you with weapons and armor that for all intents and purposes is indestructable.

What would the point of that be? Why not just cut out the glitch and type tgm into the console? Unless you're dying every five feet on Very Easy then why do it?

Removeing haveing to repair and removeing haveing to use stimpaks are 2 different things , thats why. Plus if you dont play on a PC version you dont have access to the console commands.

I'm aware of what the glitch does.... but.. you already become king of the wastes by about level 15, unless it's your first play.... Sounds boring. That's just my opinion.

The guns and armor look nice... I was upset you could not get the armor when you completed the dlc!

I love the Gary 23 glitch!

Oh and for goty version, it stills works.

Do you find Fallout 3 overly difficult on Very Easy?

Your question has no relevancy to the OP's wish that the glitch worked.

Is it so unfathomable that someone might not want to be bothered with the tediousness of packing around extra's of everything for need of repairing?

Not always. Sometimes they intoduce bugs in the patches such as what happened with VATs and the 1.1 patch (a couple of things still aren't fixed).

I'm not against people using glitches to make the game easier, I just don't understand why anyone would purposefully remove part of the challenge beyond the reason I first stated.

Don't know why the OP traded in the game since Gary 23 was never patched out. At least it wasn't on PC or 360 so I can't imagine they fixed it on PS3 either.

No feathers ruffled here , But it seemed you were saying that exploiting or modifying the game outside of the intended Vanilla , was equal to just typeing TGM in the console command. I was merely stateing the difference. Especially for those on other than PC platform.

And the fact that FWE mod by default setting drastically scales back the degradation of your equipment and expands the items you can repair with. Shows that others have found the Vanilla repair mechanic tedious and unrealistic.

I myself Do have access to the command console , mod installation and use of the GECK within my knowledge of it.
For the sole purpose of enhanceing gameplay towards my personal enjoyment of it.

One particular element I simply change by the control keys is not useing Vats and pauseing through bringing up the pipboy in combat. I personally find that element overpowerd and breaks the emersion. I also combat the bullet sponge effect by picking easy on the difficulty setting and increasing my luck for criticals.

Should I then just pick TGM and relegate myself to haveing worthless FPS'er skills?

I'm not against mods or making the game easier if that's what you want, but this glitch completely removes the need to repair and can give an infinite amount of ammo. I personally don't see the fun in that.

But no where near the same as just typeing godmode in the console command.

I completely understand your point for saying that would not be fun for you.

But IMO , I find the use of Vats and pipboy pauseing in combat more of a crutch than just typeing player.additem. Which is what this glitch effectively does for console users.

Looking back, saying its similar to typing tgm is going a bit far. Though this is one of the things that really annoys me especially when the OP said he flew into a rage and actually traded in the game just because they fixed this glitch.
