I know it's not a popular sentiment around these parts, but I just don't care for Bethesda games anymore. I wouldn't say hate, that's a strong word, but many of their staples just don't agree with me these days.
The games typically have great stories on paper, with decent lore (from what I've seen) and some nice music. On the other hand, those great stories are typically told in-game in ways that fail to hold my interest. Characters seem so flat. Be it their animations, voice acting or just general design, they all run together and aside from only a few of the most notable characters in the game, aren't unique or memorable in any way. The player character, being of you own design, doesn't feel like part of the story or world. I've always felt like I was just along for the ride, a floating camera that kills things every now and then. The expansive, open worlds feels empty and lifeless.
Now, before he inevitable "why are you here?", back in 2006 when I registered I was very excited for Oblivion. I played Oblivion to completion, and eventually did the same for Fallout 3. After which I lost my taste for that sort of gameplay. These days I stick to Community Discussion.
Couple others I don't really like:
Final Fantasy XII
Secret of Evermore
Suikoden IV
