@C.Mireneye: It's an old script from my first mod, which I had to give up, 'cause my scripter deserted without a word. It originally was thought to be used on a flame with "hurt colliding actor", but It is fine for other things too. It is just enable object when radius < certain value, it doesn't controll if player is standing on it. I didn't do the script myself, I just copy and paste. What a shame, but it works!!! :P

@Midgetalien: Hi mate, long time no talk, since chat at GHF was down! I'm trying my nest on this project, but my knowledge is few, I can't even do dialogues yet!!! :(

You should use "GetStandingActor" It's much better for things like this. It actually knows if you are standing on a model, so it's dependant on the collision of the mesh rather then the radius.

Keep on rocking =)

@Dirnae: I'm good in 3D modeling considering I'm just a modder, but I just got my behind kicked at the german blender forums some minutes ago!!!

Yeh, that'll happen in every 3d forum you go to, trust me, there are always some insanely good modelers on those 3d modeling forums, most of whom I've known to spend literally weeks on perfecting their models (unfortunately I don't have that kind of resolve :P).
But hell, at least you do something cool with your models, unlike most of those 3d artists...

And I'm all about mean and unfair, hell if I were making this mod, it'd be riddled with traps :D . But that's mainly because I like traps in games, they always keep you on your feet.

The voice is awesome, has some real character to it, and though the quality is kinda low, its not anything I think anybody would actually care about. You could try to clean the voice up a bit... or get a better microphone. :D

You could replace the parts the character is supposed to be saying (it is meant to be the character saying it, right?), with the creature questioning the character ie. "Let me in" becomes "What? You want me to let you in?", and let the player just fills in their parts themselves.
Or you could have it as voiced over dialogue, with the character giving responses in the usual dialogue form.
OR though this would require a lot of work, you could even have a fairy companion who says the one part of the dialogue (keeping in mind that fairy companion = pure winnage).

Just throwing a few of my many ideas out there, keep it as it is if you want.

I had planned to do it as you suggest, but I will have to learn how to script and do dialogues first. This video was only supposed to showcase some funny ideas!!! :D

It's a cool video, tho you might wanna mix one voice or use another actor for one character, because it can be felt a bit, that the voices are kinda the same, except he other one's a little deeper.
And your voice doesn't svck at all, it sounds quite like it's some original voice from in-game. You could be quite good voice actor.

I guess nobody likes his own voice, lol!!! What you see in this video will not be in this mod in that way. It was just for showing and I'll make something completely new. The idea with voice actors is great, I also want some singing and music in this mod, maybe we got some talented musicians hanging around here?! I'm already working on dancing mushrooms!!! :biglaugh:

Btw, I made Lord Vivec do the moonwalk and some other special moves, looks crazy, but of some reason blender doesn't want me to export it and gives me an error all the time. That's my main problem, I spend hours on an animation, try to export it and blender says "Error", but doesn't even give me a hint what's wrong. I really love animating, but I really really hate doing animations for Morrowind!!! :banghead:

Do you have blender or 3ds max?!

I have no all in one tutorial for Morrowind animation. All I know about it is from several bits of information which I had to puzzle together and from hours and hours trial and error and of course A1x2e3l and the guys from niftools helped me much. I'd advice you to learn basic keyframe animation first, there are some video tutorials about this on http://www.youtube.com and maybe also on http://www.vimeo.com Most video tutorials are pretty easy to follow, cause they were made by young people. A very good side with a lot of quality tutorials is also http://http://walkercreations.org/blender.html#Neal%20Hirsig%20Video%20Tutorials , isn't the name of this side lovely?! :D

If you prefer to read instead, check out the blender documentation for example http://www.blender.org/documentation/htmlI/p6390.html

Just try to make simple exercises, take a cube and move it around, rotate it, scale it and so on. Then export and check ingame. Next make a more complex animation, export, check ingame. Then maybe try out shapekey animation, take a cube and let it morph into a sphere. Next model a face which smiles and let it morph into an angry face.

If you feel familiar with that, you may try to rig a character and animate its bones. This is the most difficult part in animation, because you have to learn a lot about biomechanics, walkcycles and so on. Check out the "Gingerbread man tutorial" and similar, they are for older versions of blender, but you get a good overview of what character animation is about. If you have managed that, then you can try to make complex animations for Morrowind. Combining rigged charakters with with shapekey and keyframe animation. This is where the fun begins, but it is also very painful, cause you'll get a gazillion of unspecified export errors or animation group errors ingame and so on. If I didn't scare you off, then hurry up and practice!!! :)

PS: Give me some time and I'll make you a list of useful links!!!

Yes I do have blender, but I'm glad to know that keyframe animations will export and work with morrowind cause I seen tutorials by super3boy on youtube about this and other things but I didn't know if they would work in morrowind.

On a side note for all you beginner modelers out there look up on youtube for super3boys blender tutorials they are VERY helpful.

Super3boy, hahaha, that's the way I got started with blender!! All animations I named work with Morrowind: Keyframe animation, shapekey animation and rigged animation. But not all that works in blender will be able to be exported into a nif and not all that gets exported works ingame.

Hi guys, as I always liked the bandit stuff when playing Gothic, I have decided to have some bandit hideouts in the faerie realms. Haven't yet decided what race they will be. Those bandits will not be made to just kill and loot, there surely will be a quest around this. Most likely I'd make them a new guild, but I don't want to promise too much, cause I don't know if time allows me.

Here some pics of one of there hideouts, high above in the sky, like a bird's nest.

Nice use of existing exterior architecture pieces!
Keep it up.

Also try to have an idea of where to limit yourself so that you don't go crazy and add everything that comes into your mind, believe me, it doesn't turn out great in the end.

Wow TDW! I just decided to drop into the forums to see how Morrowind was doing and I noticed that this WIP was at the top of the list. You have done a lot of work since I last checked up on this! Absolutely outstanding, I love the videos and your animations are exquisite.

Keep up the good work! I'm glad to see you've stuck with Morrowind :goodjob:

Limiting what you do is probably a good idea, maybe you should finish what you're working on at the moment, with NPCs, creatures, and some basic dialogue (I'd leave quests till after most of the areas are done), so you can work out realistically how much you are going to be able to do.

Looks nice, though tbh I was expecting something more... well... crazy from you. :D
Wont you need to make one of those pathgrid thingys though so NPCs don't walk off the edges of those platforms while following the player.

Thx guys, I think you're right with your advice. I tend to do too much. I will go into detail now with what I made up to now and I also got to work out all the interiors of the several dwellings. The bandits architecture in this case will not be crazy, but it will get its own unique oulook as well. I just started yesterday on this. When I'm done with it, it will be a patched together architecture featuring all which other peoplke throw away or what was stolen from other people's property. And certainly there will be some custom meshes of mine too. :D

Concerning the NPCs paths, I should overwork the architecture a bit, surrounding the houses with more platforms for example. The ropebridges should be no problem for an NPC and the other paths will be reserved for the player only.

Question@all: I would like to mod the screen for this mod, so it has its own identity. I thought of a faerie at the top of the screen, much smaller and decent as on the picture I took (It's already an ingame shot!!!), under it the name of the mod and episode and the sceens sides covered with some decent ranks or faerie-style ornaments. It would be seen only in 1st person view, but it is a mesh replacer, so it would affect normal morrowind too. I would add my mod a re-replacer, so that everyone who unlikes it after playing it can get back the vanilla style at once by overwriting my files again.

So, before I get to work on this: Would you like something like that or should I dump it?

Don't worry about it not being crazy, I was just kidding.

About the frst person veiw, make it so it's a very thin around the edges, with the bigger pictures behind the map and health and stuff. That way it wont affect the view that much. I think you should keep it as small as possible if you want to do this.
Maybe you could do it through shaders instead though? Then you could activate it with a script, so it would only be active in the fairy realms, and you could have different screens for each area, which would be cool. You could use a script and shader similar to that in DN's 1st person helms I think. Though, me being a modeler as well, I understand complete and utter blockheads like us cannot handle heavy scriping.

A mate from my german forum advised me to make more mushrooms for this mod, he is a real mushroom addict. Well, to please his addiction I have started with some "Mushroom-Overhaul" and these are the first exemplars. I have to reduce some polys though, cause my PC is very laggy since those shrooms showed up. Oh yes and I invented a snake-shroom, a mushroom with snakeskin, it will be poisonos ans snakes feel attracted by it and stick around in the area where it grows. It's the one on the last picture!!! :D
