...http://thelisteningcentre.files.wordpress.com/2008/11/mushrooms-topper.jpg addict?
Your friend has got some real problems then.

Hell yeah! The crazy is back! Wizard hat mushrooms look extremely crazy.
Edit: why do nearly all blender users make crazily high poly models. Try Blender's version of Optimize, I think it was called dessimate, right?
Or you could just use a lower poly model with smoothing.

Oh, no he just like mushrooms ingame, he's not addicted to psylocibes, haha!!! Wasn't aware of the double meaning when I wrote this. The problem with polyreducer and decimate is, that it really destroys the mesh's structure. Details get cut away, edgeflow gets weird and unwrapping and texturing becomes a real pain!!! Building good looking lowpoly meshes from scratch is hard hard work and takes 10 times as long as making a highpoly.

This is why I come from a lowpoly speed modeller background.
You have improved much since this thread started my friend =)

I love the mushies =)

Yap, indeed my first models really make me laugh, when I see them now and when I go back through the threads when I started modding it gets even worse, here's a best of:

...Very few is known about those little sneaky creatures known as "Foxlings". Those creatures are half a man's size big, they are experts in sneaking, climbing and thievery. As far as we know, there are 3 different tribes of tehm, which easily can be divided by the color of their fur. The "Whitefoxes", which are the most civilized of that tribe, live in the light marshes of "Lithria", a small secluded realm, which is neighbouring the swamps of "Mudluren". The average "Whitefox" is a fisher, hunter or scout. Some of them even do a little trade with the other folks.

The Blackfoxes are the smallest tribe of the three. They had been large in numbers, but after they dared to raid the Faerie Queen's palace, they were radically decimated. Now most of them have joined bandit clans, like the "Black Hood", which is the biggest and meanest one and is supposed to be hidden somewhere in the mountains of Djaha.

The third tribe are the "Greyfoxes". Not much can be said about them, but it seems to be proven, that they are almost all devoted to a sinister god, who calls himself...

These Foxes look great! It would be fun to role-play a thief using this race.

Yeah, I always loved those thievy fox-characters. Back in the days I made my own pen and paper RPG and I played such a fox in there and well have a look at my avatar, there he is!!! :D

Here comes the "Greyfoxes". Gave them a head shape, which is a bit more of an advlt fox and made the face animation more grimly. :flame:

Here comes the "Greyfoxes".

Somehow I thought I'll see something similar to http://forceoperationsx.webs.com/mgs-cyborg-ninja.jpg Grey Fox character :P

I didn't know that Metal Gear thingy, but even though it would not be very hard to make as a race, it doesn't fit in this mod in any way. This is too scifi, maybe I'll do an alien themed mod after this one, then we can talk about that guy again!!! :D

Here is another race I made today and it's the first of a large series of those creatures: "The Gnomes". I love to model these freaky little guys and I'll make a whole gnome posse.

@Dirnae: I could need your new discovery on scaling charcters. I want this guy to be a bit fatter and with a nice round belly, the arms just a little piece longer. Do you think you could do that for me with a clean male orc body?! :)

Haha, I was only joking, I'm a big MGS fan so I couldn't help but comment!
Keep going with the faerie stuff for now. Your newest creation is real ugly! Which gets me thinking... any plans to make any big races?

And about the scaling, it would be complicated with playable races as you can't attach animations to characters through script, but if this is a non-playable races I can do it.
However I need to test the scaling method a little more, I've found some limitations and some possible solutions with using it, so I will need to fiddle around with scaling the animations in different ways which will probably take about a week.
I'll be making a pot bellied animation after next week though, so I can easily tweak it for your creature.

@Linora: Hey, my fan girl is back, where have you been so long?! I'll make some more cute stuff for the ladies here. If I find the time and some help of a scripter I'll make a cute little companion too, maybe!!! :D

@Dirnae: Ok, take your time!!! I make mostly small characters for this mod, because faeries are small and the realms seem to be much bigger, when you are only half as big. You know I built all this here inside Interior cells. But I may make some bigger race on request. Any special wishes?! But please keep in mind, it has to be lorefriendly!!! :P

...there is an old say, that tells, whenever you catch one of those little green Grasshead-Gnomes, he has to tell you a well kept secret. If he doesn't, he will turn to a puddle of muck at the end of day, before the sun goes down. If you catch him at night-time, he won't tell you anything, cauese he knows, nothing bad will happen to him. Sadly those creatures usually never come out of their hideouts at daytime and even then it is a hard job to catch them. They are fast, twobit and don't hesitate to cast some nasty spell at you...

Hi guys, got some pics for you from the "Valley of Leshruc". These will be the last pics for some time, because I'm going into detail now and you're not supposed to see too much. But these pics shall show you what direction the project is going.

PS: As you might know, I did create all this alone and I'm kind of a productive person, but I'd really like to have a small reliable team of engaged and somewhat skilled modders assisting me on this!!! So if you like to be a part of this WIP and don't care too much about Morrowind-lore'n'stuff, shoot me a PM!!! :punkrock:

Awesome, you've done great work by yourself and I would love to help, but if I join a team now I'll never get my wip done. I could model somethings for you now and then as long as it's nothing to complicated, just send the request by pm.

@Taroustheslayer: Thx for your offer mate, but please do finish your WIP first! This mod will take me at least 2 years, I guess, so there is plenty of time left, where you could join!!! :)

@Midgetalien: I'm not yet satisfied with the animation, cause it does look not half as good as it does in blender. Not that easy to fake mving water!!! Btw, this animation will also work on NPCs, so I could do teardrops, blood dripping wounds, a vampire who runs blood out of his mouth, zombies with maggots crawling in an out of holes in the body and much more. Will feature most of this in this mod!!!

EDIT: Updated the video, now the animation can be seen much better than before!!! :)

those new creatures/races look great! Although I think you have used the vanilla body-meshes. Wouldn't it be better to use better body meshes for them, cause I couldn't imagine that anyone that would download this mod, doesn't has BB in his/her must-have collection.

I know this is a bit late say this, after you've already made those awesome things. But I'm still sharing my meaning with you!

P.S.: I can't believe you've made all of this within such a short period of time!

@Zobator: Have a closer look mate, all human bodies you see are "better bodies" and all beast bodies are LizTail's "better beasts"!!! :) The only thing that is custom are the heads and wings of the creatures.

My buddies from my local german forum always make jokes about how fun it would be to kill all that small creatures I made and me not liking this, promised them to provide something tougher thatn that with which they could play. Well, here it is, it's a fire demon, I just summoned it from the ancient fires and what shall I say, it doesn't seem to be amused about this... :o
