TheDaywalker's Faerie Realms

Post » Sat Oct 16, 2010 7:50 pm

Stinger (update), not yet final version, but for thr moment I can live with that texture. When the creature is wearing an armor, you won't see so much of the green parts at all. And as the place where they live is pitch black, I need to keep a bit of glowing on their bodies. :P

Ants, hmm, let me think, nod a bad idea at all...I try something out. Making the evil faes more insect-like. Wait a second, ah yeah, here you go:

My new Ice-Runner-Fae. Originating from the icy plains of "TheRift"/ Skyrim. These little guys are the most civilized of all faeries and some of those creatures even do some trading with the nords, who live their. Ice-Runner-Faes never kill other beings for no reason. They hunt for eating and making leather from the skins.

There is only one thing, you should never ever do and that is stepping into one of their icy underworld cities, without being invided. They are small and don't look very strong, but they are plain deadly. Why? - Try and find out!!! :nono:

These are my first semi-handmade textures. I know they are not of very good quality yet, but I'll try to improve my skills till this mod is released!!! The creatures will also have wings, but I got some problems with collision issues that need to be solved, before I add the wings to the creature!!!

Here is my newest creation, the "Honeylicker - Fae", a small sneaky and thievy bastard with an insatiable greed for any kind of sweets, especially a certain kind of honey, which only can be harvested/ stolen from rare bee's nests in the blooming realm of "A'lyndrah", where they come from. This honey has some special power, which can only be used by this race. Hope this is scriptable! :D The Honeylicker-Faes are not really evil faes, but they are thievy and clever and like to play all kinds of pranks on other beings.

I tested the race ingame some minutes ago and I nearly ... my pants, so funny it looks when this little guy is sneaking around with his long tongue being animated to move around. I think I will start a new game with this freak, just love it!!! This race will have wings in the final version too!!!

...From the poisonous hot climate swamps of "Mudluren" comes this little faerie, called "Flyhead". Flyheads are immune to poison and illnesses and master camouflage from birth. Flyheads are very shy and try to prevent being seen by other beings if they can. Only a few of them turn into adventurers and dare to leave their birth territory to see what's out there. The last one of those faeries was seen by a pilgrim in the swampy region that is called bittercoast, but that's years ago...

Those last two faeries are very cool looking. Maybe it's just the lighting but it looks like the honey licker's head textures need to be matched closer to the body (just trying to help).

But cool work so far! You are going to have lot's of different types of Faeries filling your realms! Nice work!

The textures of the head don't match that of the body, although I have exact the same settings. It is a problem of the different meshes. LizTail's is rather lowpoly and mine is a highpoly mesh. I will try to tweak it a bit, but sometimes you can change the settings in nifskope and hardly anything happens.

There will be many, many new faeries in my faerie realms. I guess about 20 if not more and I will release about 5 of them in the first episode of my mod.

Ah, I see. Yes different poly meshes can certainly be an issue. As I have just started retexturing. I can feel some of your pain at least :poke: texturing can be a fork up the tailpipe sometimes.

...when the "Guards of the Fae-Queen" step onto the scene, even the most evil villains decide to run, because those powerful drones were only bread for one reason. Seek and destroy anyone who dares to go against the swarm. They are known for fighting till the end and never ever you'll see one of them retreat. Those mighty faeries live in the forbidden realm called "Old Dranesh" and you better don't be caught their without a personal invitation of the "Fae-Queen"

...Deep down in the southwest of "Old Dranesh" there lies a small secluded valley named "Valley of Leshruc" and it is the place, where the mighty wizards of the Fae-Queen reside. Although the wizards themselves are very powerfull, they prefer to let the Queen's guards care for security inside and outside of the valley. Their main office is to keep intruders out and prisoners inside "Leshruc".

But as there has never ever someone managed to get in or out without the wizards' permission, you could say that this is one, if not the safest place in whole "Dranesh". Some folks say that the valley is the guards' inofficial place for vacation and recovery after comming home from struggle.

Oh, well, you sure want to know, how to get permission to get to "Leshruc". Hmm, that's not easy at all, because you would have to become either a Queen's Guard or a Novice of one of the wizards. In both cases, you will have to prove yourself worthy in the eyes of the Queen first and once again our royalty is in not so good mood these days. So better wait some time before asking for an audience... :nono:

No fear mylady, this giant thing is just a hollowed out chitin armor of a dead giant wasp. There will be a living room section inside it. But be careful if you see someone pointing this weapon here at you, it's poisonous and lethal. I took a wooden stick and tied a wasp at it's end. Then I animated the wings, so that you see them move ingame. :D

This weapon will be available in the first episode of this mod and is reserved for the "Guards of the Fae-Queen", oh well, and those people who are strong enough to kill a guard and take it from their cold hands!!! :P

Wow that race looks really cool when I get to see it in game. I love the weapon with the animated wings (and the wings on the race too) great textures!

One thing though....I'm no insect anatomist but do males really let their longsword hang around in the wind? Do they even have one? Just commenting, I really know nothing on the subject... :D

Ooops, they have a longsword!!! :biglaugh: I thought this is ok, because you hardly see it because of the yellow and black colours. Actually this is a faery and not an insect, call it a hybrid. Wasp-Faeries which are no beast creatures belong to the family of the good faes (non-beast-faes) and those look more or less human.

PS: If someone feels offended by this little black and yellow thingy, I can release a replacer using a clean version, no problem!!! ;)

The sword, uh yeah...well  , let's talk about the wasplance now. The wasplance is actually a spear and it will be enchanted with a custom poisonous spell, with some other negative side effects. There will be a special script on this weapon though, but I won't tell you what it will be about yet, hehe!!! :)

Actually I'm working on some custom armors and weaponery for my different faerie races. You have already seen my wasplance, at least I hope so, and this here is my new deatmoth-shield.

I'm not sure, should I make the wings transparent. Should I make the whole shield looking more metallic?

There will be different armor sets, like you are used to form morrowind. As far I have planned:

1. Deathmoth Armor
2. Bark- and Leaf Armor
3. Dead Mouse Armor
4. Insect Citin Armor

@Linora: Glad at least one person liked the vid! I'm trying hard to improve my skills, but Morrowind is an old game and especially considering animations, it has it's limitations. Sadly only a small bit of what is possible to do in blender, I can bring into the game. Ok, for all who like videos, here's a new one, featuring my little sneaky "Honey-Licker-Faery". I just love that little bastard!!! :P

In the south-east of the realm Bethraine, lies a region called "The Deep Waters" or else in the language of the fae it is "Luren". Luren is once belonged to the evil "Goat-People" the archenemies of the entire fae-folks. But after an immensive earthquake the whole area was flooded and the Goats former capital, the "City of Luren" drowned completely. Only a few of the natives could survive this catastrophy and emigrated to the swampy region of "Mudluren" and to "Whistling Hills", latter place originally belonged to the Rat-people of "Shagrazz", but the Goats didn't care at all and just claimed the land they needed. The Rat-People still try to drive them out of their homeland these days, but that is a different story.

After the earthquake, the valley in which the "City of Luren" lay, ("lay" is because only ruins remained of what was Bethraines most beautiful and richest city), became connected to the open southern sea and this must have been an open invitation for the "Water-Faeries" who originally dwell in the deep blue sea. A large number of this folk settled down in the underwater city and build a new realm, with new king and queen. For the mighty king of the water-faes ,"Luthraan", this is still a thorn in his paw and it seems, as if the day is close, that he will try to dethrone his blasphemous opponent and take over the "City of Luren" with all it's ancient treasures...

No one, except the water faeries themselves, has ever seen the forbidden underwater city. Wanna sneak a short view?! Here you go: :D

My whole Mod will be completely interiors, so there won't be any conflicts with other mods!!! What do you mean with overview? If you want percentages for the progress, I have to say that I just started the project. So when it's done, it's done. :P

Actually regular chitin armor would be made from insects. Chitin is a tissue that forms an insects exoskeleton.(in the real world not sure about morrowind)
