Theme Song!

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 3:27 am

I'm guessing that it is the official theme.

For me, it perfectly fits in with the location. It has chanting, it's Viking-ish and so on. The best one yet. What about you?

EDIT: Added "I cannot decide." to the poll for... well, people who can't decide.

It fits the province and those that inhabit it well. Personally, I liked Morrowind's the best.

I would say that its "one the same scope as the other theme songs (=awesome)"... But now I either have to say that its the BEST themesong of them all or that it is worse than some other themesong...

It's alright, not quite as good as the very similar LOTR track. But hey it's better than Oblivion's and that's what I asked for!

Mr Soule seems to have failed to make any innovation over Oblivion, which was itself a step back from Morrowind.

Not good. I disliked the theme in the announcement and I hope to god that the rest of Oblivion's music has not been reused as well.

I think what really struck me during the teaser music was the drums at the very end. It elicited a primeval response in my heart becuase it reminded me of morrowind's theme. But the chanting was very intense as the voiceover says "Dragon-Born." It exactly does what music should, evoke emotional response.

I prefer Morrowind theme. Crap, I have over 4 mp3 versions of that one. It's simple that TESV theme can't be the same as TES3 but i will be happy seeing both of them similar.

Another option. It's good, equal to the others, not inferior nor superior. That's my vote. :P

This theme is perfect for a game taking place in the land of the Nord. But as for it being the best? No, Morrowind's "Call of Magic" is the best. There's a simple elegance to Call of Magic that isn't there in this one.

I think it's on par with Morrowind's. But since that wasn't an option I voted "It's the best yet"

It's the second best so far. I love choirs, but the Morrowind theme is still better.

So it's the third best theme of all, with the first one being Stones from Ultima.

I think it's the best of Soule's themes yet - of course most of the original melody originates from Morrowind, so I voted it as "not as good as". Polls don't provide reliable demographics. :P

In the YouTube video of Todd Howard's announcement of the trailer, I heard background music that sounded pretty good - assuming it's for Skyrim as well, I think the game's soundtrack will be better than Oblivion's, at the very least.
