Then pay with your blood!

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 6:57 pm

When are they going to stop! Just becouse i killed a couple of people doesn't mean they have to run after me across the map(sarcasm intended). And how do the other guards from other cities know that i killed someone . Do i really have to pay ALL my gold to make them like me again. If so what's the point of joining the dark brotherhood if your just going to be attacked by the guards 24/7.

The DB quests are designed in a way that getting caught by guards isn't really that hard to get around. In some of them, for example, you don't outright kill the NPC, or the NPC is placed somewhere where no guards are present or you talk to the NPC and threaten them and make them hostile towards you by doing so. Anyway, that's not really all that big of an issue with the Dark Brotherhood questline.

You can always go to jail if you want to avoid the fine. ;)

I guess killing people can be inconvenient at times.

Sarcasm much? I have to kill 3 people for that crazy guy who says people are spying on him.
Murder was the case and they blame me!

charm 100, fort personality 100

next guard will make all the guards go away until you kill again.

Not with a bounty >500. Murder bounties start at 1000 (1040 if there's an assault thrown in).

As far as Glarthir goes...enlist the help of the city guard. Don't kill the innocent citizens of Skingrad, report the dangerous paranoid schizophrenic wood elf and let the city guard do all the killing that's needed. Or, after your meeting with him behind the chapel, murder him in cold blood - GREAT way to get into the DB without a bounty.

Well, if you're in the Dark Brotherhood business anyway, why not join the Thieves Guild also and use their "connections" to make your fines go away?

That's the best advice so far!

Maybe if you select the guards dialog option for:

"Yes I murdered those three people in cold blood. But I had too! Some weird guy I just met told me to murder them."

then maybe he'll understand.

Or just "pay the fine" murder is surprisingly cheap. Or as mentioned above join the theives' guild, they have an arrangement that can get you off for less money.

charm 100, fort personality 100

I don't think so. That only works if your bounty is less than 1000, and it won't be less than 1000 with murder.

Also, if the trick works, the Fort Personality 100 is unnecessary. At my current character's skill I can make all guards within 12 feet think the world of me for about 3 seconds. Something like that.

In the long run it'll probably just be easier for you to pay the gold or go to jail. Although it's always easier to just avoid getting bounty in the first place.

you're right, sorry. i've never used more than 1 hit to kill someone, my murder bounties are always 40 gold (assault charge). it didn't even occur to me that some people don't power game. though that brings up the point - if you're good with poison, it effectively reduces the bounty of murder from 1000 to 40. this lets you kill a dozen people and still lets you use the charm/personality trick.

-Hey, man!
-Yeah?
-We′ve never met before, but can you kill these people I suspect are following me for whatever reason?
-Eh, well... sure what the heck!

Rest my case
