TheNiceOne's nice-to-have mods

Bug in your RBP omod installation script for the resources. Trying to install files for Roberts Male Body gives the following errors:
...
It appears that the stuff for roberts male is located in folder 06, while all the felmale mods are in folder 05. This is with RBP 10.52, don't know if changed from 10.5.

Thanks for reporting. It seems I have to revisit the omod installer.

Also regarding your MMM omod installation script, it lacks options to install the following following MMM Knights.esp, MMM Knights.OOO, Diverse Runeskulls Loot G &GD.esp, DiverseRuneskulls Loot OOO.esp There may be a few others files in the MMM 3.7b3 archive that lack the ability to install them as well. Not sure if this was intentional, but thought I'd mention it.
I must admit that I don't remember now, but I think I was thorough and had a good reason for all I left out. I will recheck though.

theniceone does any of your mods change how the quest journal updates? what i mean is that do any of them make journal update without a popup? I'm just trying to figure out which of my mods is doing this....i swear i found out which it was before but now i just can't remember :S
None of my mods are doing this. I know Darnified UI has this as an option though.

RBP OMOD install doesn`t work for me.

Conversion of .esp is OK, installation files however don′t show up in the "create" screen of OBMM after I select "add archive".
HD works for a moment and then... nothing.
I know that creation of omods of large resources folders can take a very long time, so long that people think it stops working - i.e. 5-10 minutes or more. Can it be that?

Hi TheNiceOne!

I actually downloaded "Real Sleep Extended" and "Enhanced Economy" - first of all, good work, definately. By any chance will there be something like "Real Hunger" or "Real Thirst" in the future? I'd really like to see something like that.
Mods with those names do exist, and are generally considered to be good, I think - though I've never played with any sleep or hunger mod myself.

Why? Real Hunger and FF_Real Thirst works perfectly in my experience.

Oh, I haven't found anything like that, yet. I'll take a look, but thank you for informing me. :D
If you could give me a link, I'd be grateful.

These are the ones I'm using. I've never had any problems with them and they work perfectly:

http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=21106
http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14214 + http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15168

There are others too which also work fines AFAIK, so there's no need for TheNiceOne to waste his modding abilities reinventing the wheel, so to speak. :)

Sure, if something's fine already, there's no need to do it again. :)
I'm still curious on what he's going to do next. *hides spycam*

Actually, I'm in the process of doing exactly what PetrusOctavianus said there is no need to. I am reinventing the wheel. :P

Or to be more precise, I am reinventing the hotkeys wheel.

Hi NiceOne,

I waited for over an hour for the conversion to finish. No go...

So I installed Birthsigns Expanded and nGCD(?).
Makes for an interesting game too.

How much free hard disc space do you have? I recall some having problems with creating omods due to too little disc space. OBMM needs quite some space to unpack and repack the resources.

I noticed the Tears of the Fiend delayer mod and rememberedhttp://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1019798-relz-bash-able-quest-delayers/ here that this is included in.

The main thread link for the Level Based Health is bad.

Hi Nice One,

I have over 200 GB free space.

Anyway I encountered a similar problem with another large mod and tried this:

- I unpacked the mod to a folder and told OBMM to "create" and then "add folder". Got message that omod data is available and imported it.
Nothing showed up in the "create" screen but I pressed "create omod" anyway. And guess what, the omod was successfully created and seems to work OK!?!

I don`t know if such a simple(dumb?) solution will be punished later, but we`ll play and see.

Hi Nice One,

if you feel bored sometime could you perhaps contemplate making OMOD installers for

- Alive Waters and Inoxicant Improvement?

And provide links to prerequisites for your mods like Pluggy 128?

i don't even know where pluggy 128 is hosted...the pluggy nexus page contains 125b and then it's 132, the 132 caused transition crashes for me so i can only use 125b now....and i really want to find out where i could dl 128. Btw nice work theniceone, your little mods are just amazing :D

Just noticed typo (?) here from the OP:

Level Based Health
Detailed description
Main thread
Calculates your base health depending on your current level, and nothing else (no Endurance dependency). You decide your level 1 health, the additional health gained per level, and an optional maximum health. This lets you easily set up the game to give the difficulty you want without having to adjust the haggle slider as you level up.

Wrong mod?

I don't think Pluggy 128 is hosted anywhere anymore. I use 132 myself without any problem. Note that for both my Pluggy-requiring mods (EE and MMO), it is possible to enable Pluggy for a short time, and then remove it again when you have imported prices (EE) or saved/read a map marker backup (MMO).

Wrong slider. It should've been the difficulty slider. Thanks :)

I am trying to figure out how to add "Walking horse" as a variable timescale. I thought I would use the "sneak" time scale or "walking" so I don't have to add more lines to floats and the ini file.
Bleh - The force of my scripting is weak....
Anywho. I was trying to add a few lines to check for walking a horse but ofcourse the compiler returned an error.
I was adding a something along the lines of:

elseif timeWalking > 0 && timeWalking < RSi
let RSi := timeWalking

But I guess that will not work at all :(

Here is the snippet of code I am looking at:
; Riding			if RShorse.IsMovingForward || RShorse.IsMovingBackward || timeStanding==0				if timeRiding > 0 && timeRiding < RSi					let RSi := timeRiding				endif			; Standing still with horse			elseif timeStanding < RSi				let RSi := timeStanding			endif		elseif player.IsMovingForward || player.IsMovingLeft || player.IsMovingRight || player.IsMovingBackward

Cheers!

I do think it is rather stupid that once you hop on a horse and just sit on it, time speeds up.

Well you can set it to what you want.
I am one of few who thinks that raising the speed of time makes the world (with a few Jedi mind tricks) seem bigger. It takes time going places.
So especially for galloping I want game time to speed up real fast. I galloping to save me some real world time not because I want to reach my destination faster in the game world :P

But there are times I want to slow down and just walk my horse - then I don't want the sun to speed along in a race track. That's why I am trying to set a Ride Walking speed.

Cheers!

I guess the thread for Level Based Health has gone to oblivion or something. Anyway I just wanted to mention that if you get anybody complaining about it being incompatible with Oblivion XP, then tell them to turn off Ob XP's control of their health! Oblivion XP has more configuration settings than even your mods and this is one of them :) It's this line in the ini: Set ObXPSettings.healthControlEnabled to 1 - change the 1 to a 0.

I saw the comment in the OOO thread and thought I'd mention it here.

I'm also trying to match your frequency for updates, but that one is going to be tough

Hello,

I just would like to show you my gratitude for the mods that you produced. Some of them have become trusty companions of my journeys through Tamriel, and I wouldn't leave my "comfy imperial prison" (or ship) without them! Here comes some feedback of me using them :

  • Map Marker Overhaul
At this point, it just seems perfect to me. Very configurable, very useful :)

  • Enhanced Economy
While I was interested by the new guard looting = stealing feature introduced by the v5, setting almost every container in cities to "owned" prevented me from using my http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11495. The starting gear granted by that mod would suddenly become stolen, which I don't want. Since I could deactivate this behavior, it is really only nitpicking.

This mod seems more packed (with features) than my Morrowind Guar sometimes, and I discover more of them as the in-game days pass. I am really fond of the discriminating prices between merchants, and even cities, for selling or buying various items. This breathes in a real sense of economy to Tamriel, and makes my time in game worthwhile looking for a shop rather than another.

  • Real Sleep Extended
Sometimes, I get the feeling that if I sleep more than the recommended sleeping time, I feel more tired than before, forcing me to sleep again after a night of rest. However, this is only a feeling at this point, and it might be related to other mods that I've installed. The best part about this mod is that it manages to remains... simple, yet efficient in almost any situation (vampirism included), despite of all that it manages. I am still a bit skeptical about bundling mods (I've discovered that this one contains your Automatic Timescale mod), but as long as it works, I am a happy camper.

Since you seem to pay a particular attention to enjoyable gameplay through all your mods, I would be grateful for your advice about "equivalent" (in quality and design spirit) mods for Hunger, Thirst and why not Exhaustion, ideally using COBL.

  • Enhanced Hotkeys
I don't use the special equip/unequip hotkeys, since I find them redundant with the vanilla hotkeys. For example, if I hit an equip hotkey twice, I unequip the weapon, arrows included for bows. I don't use the extra wheel letters (YUIOPGHJKL) either, as I like to keep my standard keys free of any functionality for as long as possible. In my mind, hotkeys come as keys "out of my way", that I would rarely use otherwise, or as a combination of keys. For example, Shift/Ctrl/Alt + something. In that regard, the extra numpad wheelset is very welcome. Compared to other hotkeys mods, this one is the first that remains stable throughout my game, which is also a major plus in my book.

  • Display Stats
I sometimes get strange error messages in my Conscribe/OBSE log files about "An expression failed to evaluate to a valid result", but again, this might be linked to some of the more "exotic" mods that I am using. I appreciate the additional feature to press a key to get the stat panel to pop up (set tnoDS.show_health to 2). If I activate it, I don't get any messages.

  • Quest Log Manager
Again, a seemingly simple mod, with a great idea behind it, truely adding to my gameplay. I get the same benign "An expression failed to evaluate to a valid result" error message than for "Display Stats", but otherwise, it works flawlessly.

  • HUD Status Bars
If I had to pick only one mod of these all, this one would be it. Woaw. How many times had I wished to "see" something explicitly on my screen, not having to rummage through the menus to find the information that I needed under hand. Health of my summons, health of my companions, health of my enemies, blood pool, experience and skill progression, almost everything customizable... and it works! That is a fantastic job!

Again, this message is meant more like a token of gratitude than really a bug report. Your mods add greatly to my enjoyment of the game, because they appear as simple to install and use, come as tested, and enrich my gameplay without detracting from the essential : the fun to be had!. Therefore, and I really mean it, thank you :)

I'm not sure what else to say, except that your post is deeply appreciated and one of the reasons that modding is rewarding.

...and I'll try to weed out the remaining bugs without introducing too many new ones ;)

So it has. And I have downloaded that latest version of Map Marker overhaul as well.

I just thought it past time that I comment how heavily favoured my "Base" load order (that is the mods that I can't not put in there) is by the mods from Arthmoor and your good self (TheNiceOne that is.) :D
And none of that was due to me actively seeking out more of your mods, it just turned out that way through the merits of the mods in question (in fact in many cases I was already a "fan" but did not realise that 'that' mod was one of yours as well!)
