I suspect it is going to be intentionally vague so that if that′s what you wanna decide for your character, sure.
Er... right. That definitely makes more sense than Beth having planned to include both like they have since ever.
Not to mention the leaked scripts mentioned both genders as playable characters
It's more likely that we learn to use power armor over the course of the game like we have in the past.
consider the E3 demo implicate we can run into that PA sequence as like a level 1-2 character if we walk the right direction, not really, our character definitely had pre war PA training.
the time gap between the fear buzz over a female protagonist and the E3 demo was to short for them to have done that, I think it′s simply that despite the strong 1950 vibe, the fact it′s 2077 might mean more equality in some fields.
doubtful, the laser musket is clearly a babies first laser weapon and the way Todd talks at Microsofts event where we see most of this clearly hints this is a mission we will run into early, clearly meant to be the classic power tease trope.
watch the microsoft video, as the player vaporise the last raider before the dialog scene he levels up and it says in the upper left corner "You′ve reached level 2"
He said it's "one of their signature weapons" why would he call a throw away beginner's weapon that? Not to mention it keeps cutting from scene to scene and skipping what's in between. Does clearing out a city full of raiders and deathclaws in power armor really seem like a level 1 quest to you?
I think he means more in terms it′s signature for 4, since none of the older games had something like it, just look at that design, it is so clearly meant to be a new low tier energy weapon, basically the energy weapon equivalent of a varmin rifle, instead of letting us jump straight to a laser or plasma pistol like 3/NV did.
actually yes, as I stated, it′s a kinda common trope, the early power tease moment where a game lets you be basically like a end game character for a moment then some in game event strips you down to starter baby level, I imagen it′s the same here, we get to go kill some raiders and deathclaws then conveniently the suit power runs out just as we kill the last enemy in the quest and we are booted out of it, then for a good while we can′t use it unless we find new batteries or craft one of the torsos with it′s own plant.
I think the laser musket is a good signature weapon for the Boston Wasteland and is certainly a neat solution for someone with a broken laser rifle and no fusion cells.
Cetainly a weapon that doesn't need fusion cells or any other type of ammo can be pretty useful in the wasteland.
I'm sure by the time you fully upgrade the laser musket, it will be pretty impressive even if it doesn't compare to a fully tricked out auto plasma rifle.
And you still might carry a laser musket for sniping and hunting in order to save your auto plasma rifles fusion cells for when you really are in the thick of things.
I agree this is wild speculation but I could see them giving the Lone Survivor a badly damage suit of power armor suit and a mini gun with almost no ammo left fairly early.
A town full of raiders and a deathclaw would use up a lot of ammo.
if you look at the E3 presentation where the Lone Survivor is working on the power armor some of them have a "PA Bat Drain Rate" stat and we did see him put some thing like a fusion cell in the back of the power armor before getting in.
If so then the Power Armor would be a hanger queen while you scavenged around Boston trying to keep it charged and repaired, at least on till you got it upgraded.
I mean, if the previous games are anything to go by, it just takes a few hours with a Brotherhood knight to learn how to use power armor properly. Which is something of a nitpick of mine, but whatever.
I imagine that male of female won't make any difference and that the 'veteran' role is assumed on the part of the player character regardless of gender. The spouses role (if any) will likewise be gender neutral and attached to whichever the player isn't playing.
Since Power Armor is in widespread use in the US military, including the National Guard, if your a veteran of the time you have probably had some contact with Power Armour giving him/her basic operating knowledge (which frankly seem very easy) and probably the basics of repairing light damage......no idea if its possible to create Power Armor, seems more like mix and match of existing types.
You could equally argue that the player must be a weapons technician since you can apparently take a pistol and convert it into a rifle or a sniper rifle, you can build sophisticated optical sights with everyday junk. You can also argue that your ability to build a house, wire up electronics and power lines etc means you're player is in the house building trade, or that your ability to hack computers makes the character a professional hacker, or the ability to pick locks makes him/her a locksmith.
Also why Anchorage, use of Power Armor is widespread so they could have served at anytime in the previous 11 years of war with China, the Occupation of Canada and internal 'policing' of the US.
What others said, she can the same way he can. There were pre-war female soldiers who did frontline infantry (and presumably anything else), as seen in the Operation Anchorage DLC
I can see PA being given to us early then gets wrecked or breaks down while defending a town form raiders then we have to do lots of quest to get the parts to get it running again. or it could be they just spawned the PA for the demo footage and forgot to turn off leveling up.
isnt the signature horned helmat in skyrim one of the worse helmats in the game?
Pretty sure Bethesda never called the iron helmet "one of our signature helmets" it was just the one used in the trailer. (Though the dragon bone helmet and daedric helmet also have horns)
i never said they did but it is skyrim's signature helmat regardless but my point is it can be a "signature weapon" and a lowbies item
