In fact, not even mods can do it.
And that said, vanilla doesn't involve romances.

Only mods involving SOMETHING related to relationships are six mods.

Just did some research and found out some people have almost finished the six mod.

Surely mods could do it, just nobody has tried? All it takes are dialogue options really.

There isn't one in vanilla and I find this a good thing.

I think you're looking for a Bioware game.

Mods *could* do it, but romance requires very good writing, that most professional writers who've spent years training can't get right.

It is possible with mods, but no mods for that have been created.

Bittercup is as close as it gets I think. Or maybe Clover. It's difficult when each character in the game has less than a dozen lines of spoken dialog. Not much of a relationship.

No but you can get a girlfriend and watch her play FO3. That sounds like more fun anyway. :hubbahubba:

The two are mutually exclusive, at least for us.

And why not? If you're roleplaying what's wrong with starting up a relationship with someone in the wasteland. Someone that thinks like you and wants to help you make a difference or possibly take over everything.

You can use various companion mods that are available from here - http://www.fallout3nexus.com Browse the catagories for companions or look in the top 100 list for some good ones. It may take some pretending on your part but you can get some really nice girl companions that will follow you around everywhere.

There is a Seducing Women mod that incorporates a lot of new dialogue, and an Animated Prostution mod there but I can't provide links due to the advlt nature of the content. Check the top 100 list link and look at the advlt only list to find those.

Clover calls you 'lover' and says you can take anything you want. There are some mods to make her look good. That's as close as I've come.

Those mods svck. I mean, A for effort and everything, but I think the guys making them are so excited at the prospect of six, or so addled with a need for it, they overlook stuff like spelling, and uh... finesse? Most of the dialogue is beyond dire, and the execution for the romances is ridiculous. One of them turns Vera Weatherly into a six-crazed deviant from the nether regions of Satan's [censored]. The prostitution mod likewise is hilariously pants. I can't believe the time it must have taken, and what could have been achieved with the skills that person has, if he put his mind to something a little more... productive... not in the RE-productive sense of the word.

Just IMO, though... they're obviously very popular. They were on my system for about five minutes each though. ^_^

I thought the story line was developing with Bittercup in Bigtown. After the .... battle she does say something like "come back and see me." But to my dismay, I returned and she was just another one dimensional character. I thought we had a connection!!! With the Lady Killer perk, I thought there might be an added dimension to the relationships.

I'll tell you what female character is starting to get a little too clingy though... that woman in Megaton who keeps giving me Nuka Cola or Cram when I enter town. Really, this relationship is going no where for me. I think I'll randomly kill a few people just to bring my karma down a few notches. Keep your damn Cram. eheheh

Still. . . trying to make a gf in Fallout 3 is like trying to stick Master Chief with Samus. . . it just shouldn't be done. I mean it would be better to just keep the girl in real life and not make one up. . . no offence of course. And the game is pretty much an RPG and is good just to keep the mods to weapons, armor, and new areas.
Besides, if you have a gf in real life then you shouldn't need on in the game. And besides, with all the killing, and fighting, raiding, and saving, there isn't really any time for that sort of stuff. It be better if you were making a movie in the Fallout world and you wanted the main character to have a love interest. : ) But as for playing it yourself, it's as useless as the six mods someone talked about. XP

Oh! And Bannon, she does give you stuff. : ) I didn't go back for a while and she was like "Oh! You came back! Er I mean, yea." then she gave me some ammo. I think it's more like a time basis thing with her.

And she's more like surprising then clingy. Like when I come out of the house and all of a sudden my camera is pulled away, I was like "WTF?????" Plus Fawkes was in the way so I was just seeing him. lol But I like that I get free stuff because sometimes I get ammo. : P

Agreed.

OniOne seems to know an awful lot about those mods for someone who only had them for five minutes. ;) I kept SW around for ten minutes until I discovered the description was a lie. Never did find a guy I could talk to but Captain Danvers liked me. Hmmph!

A romance companion mod would be really nice to have. You up for making one, Pistolero?
