Is there any way to give your spouse nicer clothes

Post » Sun Jun 02, 2013 6:50 pm

I married Camilla Valerius from Riverwood Trader. She's a decent looking girl, but man that brown dirt-stained dress doesn't compliment her in any way. I think she'd look great in some fancy Noble Clothes. but even when I pickpocketed her current dress and replaced it with a nicer one, she doesn't actually start wearing it. Anyone know how to make your woman wear nicer clothes?

No, impossible unless on PC.

It should have been added with Hearthfire.

yeah I bet. I'm not close to getting lvl 100 pickpocketing though. I guess in the future I'll make a point to marry someone based on there clothes, rather than their looks. lol

If you marry someone who is also a follower, you can get them to change their clothes. On one of my games I married Mjoll and she wears Nightingale armor. Another character married Jordis and she rolls with me in enchanted Tavern dress. I tell you, the most beautiful thing about Skyrim is Jordis the Swordmaiden in Tavern dress and wielding a Daderic war axe.

I might try that. but how do you get them to wear non-armored clothes instead their armor? don't companions wear stronger items over weaker ones?

Housecarls seem to have the same issue, I think: once they stop following you, they revert to default clothing. Too bad, because I think Lydia looks sixy in ebony armor.

If you take their default armor, they revert to wearing nothing but underwear. There are vids online that show how you can get your spouses to wear whatever you want when they follow you.

This makes me think of another unnecessary bug that they fixed. I married Mjoll on my first character, she set up shop in our home and I was able to buy her banded iron armor that she wears. She was in her underwear, I gave her nice normal clothes and she wore them! It was great for awhile until 1 day her armor was back and all I could get her to wear is better heavy armor.

I miss that bug
