Is there any way to keep the Jagged Crown?

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 8:51 pm

...and still do the civil war questline?

I want to wear Dragon light armor with the Jagged Crown.

How would you be able to finish the civil war quest line if you do not progress towards the next part? Meaning how are you gonna go any further w/o turning in the quest objective?

Possible on pc maybe? I'm on Xbox so I would say NO unless modded.

Not if you want to finish the civil war questline. But as Iendial said, you can console it.

I would get the crown and then go through the main story line and get to the part where you sit with all the leaders to call a truse...I just hate mariring up my towns just like... I hated oblivion gates for that reason

Hope that helps

Maybe you should try with the firestorm dupe glitch. For those who don't know, go near an object which is held in place by a rack or something else (ie an altar) and launch a firestorm directly on it (via spell or scroll - they're pretty common in loot). Chances are that a copy of the object will be thrown around. I have obtained two copies of Dawnbreaker this way. There is also a glitch that allows mannequins to duplicate what they're wearing but I never tried it. It sounds perfect for an helm.

Spoiler
Find a mannequin, put the crown on the mannequin, then leave the house. Go back, take the crown off the mannequin, then leave the house again. Go back to your house and get the crown that is back on the mannequin.
Stupid mannequins are bugged as heck.

I also personally thought that the jagged crown looked quite badass on my head with a set of dragonscale to go with it... I was bummed that not only was it heavy armor, but that I had to cough it up. There I was, standing outside Korvanjund in 3P mode, thinking, "Yeah. Now THIS is a Dragon helm."

Off to look for a mod... when I get around to it.

@stonerlove... That bold, bright green and oversized thing you've got going on... I can see that you're new here, but please stop it. It hurts people's eyes. Such as mine, which aren't getting any younger. Thank you.

The (wisely chosen) default grayscale color scheme has a rationale behind it.

I wore it when I walked up to Ulfric to turn it in. As, I suspected: he didn't have the balls to say anything.

When I retrieved it it was in the inventory of a Deathlord. Would the FIrestorm glitch work if I had set it down on something and cast on it? :o

You need to buy a home, I know solitude and windhelm homes have them, not sure of others.

As previously stated, I hate all the helms in the game since they all cover the face so much, which is the only real distinguishing feature between characters, and I loved the jagged crown on my orc, looked badass with ebony armor. Alas I turned it in and he is once again helm-less forever, negating any possibly heavy armor perks etc etc.

There should be more crowns or any type of 'cap' armor that doesn't cover your whole face and magically make argonian horns disappear..

Why let people customise their character faces and then force them to wear ugly as helmets to utilize armor perks.. pointless.

The Deadly Dragons mod lets you craft it under Daedric Armor (well, something that looks just like it). Heavy Armor, high armor rating, requires dragon parts.

All the homes except the one in Whiterun have at least one mannequin

The dupe glitch involving the firestorm (possibly works with other 'messy' spells, too) is doable if the object is in sight but attached to something like a rack, an altar, etc... For some reason, when casting spells that push objects around, an exact copy of the affixed object is created and thrown.

Find a mannequin, put the crown on the mannequin

This was the first thing I tried when one of these threads popped up last month. Unfortunately, the Jagged Crown is marked as quest item / cannot be dropped. Is there some way of avoiding that?

The firestorm thing sounds like it has potential.

The iron and steel ones (and some of the hide and scaled ones) don't cover the face - I just mark my helms as "Favorites" and don't wear them when I'm not fighting.
