Is there any way to save Lokir of Rorikstead?

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 5:21 am

The guy at the beginning of the game who runs off and gets shot down by arrows.

I was wondering what happens to him if you somehow ress him or give him more health.

If he didn't get killed by the arrows, where does he run off to?

Is he scripted to die?

All the events in the tutorial are scripted. At least until you start your escape, then some of the events are scripted.

Since you have not escaped when this guy runs off, there is no way to save him. It is a plot device that is supposed to tell you that you have no hope for survival at this time.

No, and you can't meet his friends or family in Rorikstead from memory.

If the start is scripted as I would guess they′ve done it, then even though you could use the console to raise Lokir, he would disappear after the intro anyway since the entire starting area of Helgen seems to be a separate map.

Nothing happens if you res him. He won't ever show up outside of Helgen, just like no one else besides Tullius/Ulfric/Hadvar/Ralof will if you res them.

No, if he is scripted to die, he dies even the arrows don't hit him.

The same applies for (don't open spoiler if you haven't visited all cities)
Spoiler
the guy who gets executed when you first enter Solitude
, he simply dies automatically as if of a heart attack if you rescue him and kill the guards.

Wow, what is this?

Death Note?

Even when you save him, he still dies.

That's pretty lame.

There are certain events in the game that are scripted to enhance the narrative, a little wink at the console might be nice but it is pretty minor.

At least you can save the woman in markarth. You get a bounty for it, but you can save her and she's thankful for it.

You dont get a bounty if you wait until he is moving towards her with the knife drawn, done it 3 times now, lol.

He had the knife out when I killed him. Strangely enough it only gave me a 40gold bounty(I did the backstab sword finisher right away). Just gave the guard the gold and went on my way.

Sure, but I think TES should be more about what I associated TES with when I first started playing Oblivion - that the player has the power, not the game.

Because Rorikstead cannot be even described as a town, rather three houses and a few goats

If you wait till he gives his speech and turns red on the compass you won't get any bounty. He's fairly low level so a good spell or a well placed arrow while sneaking will do the job.

Does he get shot again?

No, the shot misses but he falls down dead anyway.

To answer your previous question- even if you resurrect him he'll just stand there and if he ain't gonna get killed in the mayhem again he'll just probably get disabled later on.

You played Oblivion and from that you associated TES with player having the power? From Oblivion? :lmao:

No that's what he thinks TES should be about, instead of it being the opposite like in Oblivion.
