Is there anyone else out there not dissapointed and like me

This is probably going to be the worst game in the last 30 years, if I ever do buy it it wont be until I find it at a thrift store.

They only threw in dragons at the last second to try to attract Dragon Age fans.

HahahahahAHAHAHAHahaa "wipes a tear from eye" yes just they would "throw" some dragons in for the the tiny percentage of players who liked dragon age ;)

But I do not have the means nor the resources to open an oblivion gate. Add to that, there's a pesky firewall called the dragon fires.

Edit: But yeah, following up Khnum's remark, I don't think Bethesda has any need to be desperate enough to try to do something like that. Just about everything they do is done with careful consideration. Some of these ideas were misses, most were hits. Being that Dragons have been handled very carefully in the lore, I do trust Bethesda to represent Tamrelic dragons.

MC Jesus.

You joined the forums like one month ago and you're bashing a game that has just been announced. I just don get the type of people like you. Always whining for no good reason.

Yes. I was going to start a thread like this one before I saw this.

? Graphics
Taking into account small/grainy screenshots, Skyrim looks to be a significant leap ahead of Oblivion. Is there any confirmation of which platform the screens are from? If Skyrim's engine is scaleable and those are console screenshots, we've reason to be excited.

? Design & Art Style
A great improvement on Oblivion and Morrowind, to my mind; the cold, grim style looks beautifully executed.

? Character Art
The musculature seen on the demo player character looks excellent, especially if that represents the bulkier end of the scale for a male PC (if body adjustment at character creation is confirmed), as does his wargear. The female Nord in the tavern is beautiful.

? Monsters
Frost trolls, giant spiders, dragons, draugr/skeletons, a giant (I think?) and some particularly savage and primal-looking wolves all look excellent.

? World Art & Landscapes
The "Skyrim will be all snow" worry can be laid to rest now. There's not enough shown to form a definitive opinion, but architecture, landscapes and amount of variation all look promising.

? Game Mechanics & Character Advancement
This is the only thing that has me worried, really. Depending on how the game plays, losing skills and (possibly?) losing attributes is a disappointment. But the new level advancement system sounds a lot more organic than previously, assigning items or spells to either hand sounds nice, and the improvements in combat actually sound great. I'm quite excited about enchanting, smithing, and crafting systems as well.

So overall I'm impressed, but I'll need to learn a lot more details before making my mind up.

To be honest I am as excited as I was before the article. The only difference is that we have something to talk about now.

Phew there is some of us left :P and what i've learnt from bethblog twitter is that the ''level scale '' system is closer to fallout 3 then oblivion :D

I never really liked Fallout 3 so hearing that the "level scale is closer to Fallout 3 than Oblivion" doesnt reasure me one bit.

What was the level scaling like in Fallout 3 and how is it better than Oblivion's?

True. Compare that to http://images.uesp.net//c/c4/OB-npc-Signy_Home-Wrecker.jpg, which is probably the best looking Nord in Oblivion. Skyrim's NPCs should be a major improvement, as long as they didn't spend 10 times as long as usual to get that female Nord's face right for the first preview. :P

I do agree that some people are taking things out of proportion and complaining, but they are entitled to an opinion. (even if its wrong, jk)

I think it's either a defense mechanism to avoid getting disappointed or it's a competitive reflex to be the "most critical elitist".

Either way they should take the feelings of the people who are actually working on the game in consideration in case they browse the forums.
At least try to have some sense of dignity, oh well... the sheeple are sheeple.

I know I can be a snob sometimes, sorry about that. :P

I think your right. Like Beth could take it as like ''Wow we pour our heart and soul into this game and ''fans'' dismiss day one'' its outrageous :P

Yeah I know that there has to be level scaling to some degree at least when it comes to the outside world and the wilderness (thought there should be some areas of the wilderness that you will get your [censored] handed to if you enter them too early) though when it comes to dungeons and quests I was hoping that they would be set at more of a fixed level so you would have to at least level up and work towards being able to complete them. Bah so long as it isnt as bad as Oblivion I will be happy.

I've actually just realised something (could have been said before), from the screens i've seen the PC is wearing armour without pauldrons. Now the armour could be designed that way (seems odd imo) or it could mean pauldrons are back. I'm going to cling to this until told otherwise :P

And even if it is just designed that way, I do love the look. Oblivion's armor just didn't seem to have that rugged adventurer's look to it. If a guy was in full ebony armor, he just looked rich and likely owned a fief somewhere. When I see the armor in the screenshots, It just screams "Yeah, I'm a seasoned adventurer. Don't mess with me or you will end up in a coffin." Now if they had pauldrons again, then that just takes it to another level.

I've loved both Morrowind and Oblivion, in both modded and unmodded forms. In fact, my PC still isn't capable of running OB and looking great, so most of my play time is on a console.

Unless it suddenly turns into Fable 3 or the like, I think I'll probably love Skyrim, too.

True. I just see a game that does the providence of skyrim the justice it deserves. I can't wait till the magazine comes out in stores so I could actually read the physical copy and all the pages I couldn't make out or just weren't scanned.
