Videogames industry it seems to me is one of the only industries I can think of which regularly applies false advertising without being sued. If you lie about your product and people buy it, isn't that yknow against some law, somewhere?
I would love to hear the prelims for this case...
Judge- So, you're suing Bethesda Softworks for fraud?
Plaintiff- That is correct, your honor
Judge- And you are claiming emotional injury and distress because...
Plaintiff- Because I was told that there would be seven thousand steps to High Hrothgar in the game Skyrim,. but there aren't. I counted. Three times. And there aren't.
Judge- High...Hoth..Hroth..um..Hot...
Plaintiff- High Hrothgar. It's this building on top of a big mountain called Throat of the World where the Greybeards live. My Argonian Assassin had to climb these seven thousand steps to get to the top of the Throat of the World to talk to these Greybeards because he is Dragonborn, and he had to learn how to use his shouts to defeat the dragons that had returned to the world. Only, there aren't seven thousand steps in the "Seven Thousand Steps" like we were told there would be. There's only 748. I know because counted. Bethesda lied to me.
Judge- I see...And you are seeking judgement in the amount of...
Plaintiff- A Bajillion-Zillion dollars.
Judge- Right... Next case.
