I think they should finish up what they started on the east coast rather than just continuing west coasts story or moving it to Chicago.
So Commonwealth, Lyons Brotherhood (even though I loathe them), Enclave remnants, Outcasts and Talon Company needs to have high focus. (Well, not the Enclave remnants, they'll be here and there but not a faction.)

OP what do u mean if???? I think they need to go to Chicago and finish the mid west bos story there. Its only been 10 years.....

Lyons was supposed to find them, but failed to locate them on the way to DC. They have to still be there unless some truly hard butt faction of some sort wiped them out. Either way the mid west bos strory needs to be told. They need to have 1 ending good or bad, where if you want to role play with the loser u die at the end. This way fo will have a choice, but the effect will be serious. This way it will really have one ending no matter who you go with and that chapter of that chapter can be put to bed with no waiting. Then they can move on to other places. If they win this lawsuit.....

As long as the story doesn't center around the Enclave or aliens, I'm good.

I would say the other way round NY for fallout 4 and chicago for fallout 5 but do you think fallout could be set in a different country for fallout 4 or not

As we're discussing a bit here and there - Chicago. Midwestern BoS is there, and Obsidian said Enclave had outposts there. Seeing as the Enclave Power Armor in F3 looks alot like the BoS Power Armor from Tactics, there must've been some interaction between them. MWBoS and Enclave also have similar goals, to erradicate mutants, and seeing as proably only a few percent of the original Enclave is left now, and that they are outnumbered by the MWBoS (and that MWBoS haven't heard of Enclave before) they came to some mutual agreement. Enclave probably nestled their way into the leadership of the MWBoS, many Enclave officers became new BoS elders and then some conflicts between the new and the old appeared (as always.) The Enclave are just playing the BoS though, they knew they can't take them in an assault, they also no longer have a virus or a way to release it, and they are just too weak and too few left. They use and help the MWBoS to kill mutants and ghouls while meantime they grow in strength, maybe repair and upgrade the Calculator and the robot army. Later they kill Barnaky's brain and the BoS elders in a coup, and use the robot army to kill the MWBoS and voila - they're a force again (though now they've got more robots than humans). The Enclave went back to being a shadow government, as in pre-war times, but this time they puppeteered their enemy's government.

Or your character decides to help the MWBoS elders, and uncover the Enclave's plan. Or you help the Mutant Liberation Army, which is pretty much giving up all hope, in their last thrust at freedom and independance. Three choices, and neither should be snow white nor pitch black.

I think they should focus more on the East coast. The west was in 3 fallout games already. They need to focus on finishing some of the thing in the east and will probably be awesome if they do.

Well i think they should keep NY for F5 so

1) The Pitt and Lyon's BoS has a believable time to build a country

2) So Ronto can make a cameo and we can see them at a time of peace (if they are at war in F5)

Exactly, Ashur's ties with the Brotherhood could make the two diplomatically friendly (maybe). The Brotherhood have the technology and the Pitt have an army; together they would be unstoppable
That is of course as long as Wehrner doesn't get his way.
