There has been topics like this

I am aware there have been topics like the one i am about to describe but hear me out. Now do not get me wrong I do not want elders scrolls to be online bassed at all, but to implement a way for your friends to fight along side you would be the most entertaining thing ever. There would be no difference in anyway, all the friend would have to do is join you. Perhaps they could make it so you show up in a boating dock like it was showed in the gameplay footage as a way to let players play with you in your journeys. Now this would help the game way more then it would hinder it, I just hope they consider allowing buddies to fight with you. The possibilities are just mind boggling, perhaps you and your friend just want to plan a coordinated assassination on a group of people and 3 of you just went at it, or you guys went hunting or cave dwelling. These are just a small portion of the things you could do. But do not think for a second that I mean to make the game an online persona for the franchise, just the ability to fight along side a friend.

If you thought about this before you would realize that online never will happen and also realize that no one has made a "Online plzzzzzzzz" thread and that this thread is well pointless so remind me what is the point in this thread?

Not to mention how hard it would be to implement multiplayer

It's not hard (for a team like Beth's) as long as the engine is built for it. When it's built for a massive single player open world RPG, then yeah, itd be pretty damn difficult to implement.

I dont understand why it is a bad idea for you to buddy up with someone when playing by yourself can become like a hollow hall. It is not COD multiplayer it is adventure, I have played these games soooooo much I think I know that this would help the series.

In the Elder Scrolls, YOU play the hero. It doesn't make sense for multiple heroes (in Skyrim's case the Dragonborn, which there can only be one of) to be walking around. Not to mention multiple people walking around all wearing the same legendary items (that according to lore only one of each exists).

But its not like these items give any essental value in a real life scenario just something friends can do together. Try to see the good in this, just sit back and think of the possibilities.

It's not about any "value in a real life scenario" (whatever that means?). It's about how it would break the story and break the lore of the game. At least in Skyrim anyways.

Yea I see what you mean, although what "IF" when your visitor hops off his ship from the docks the main story is locked until the guest is gone. This way you maintain the illusion of your unique powers and role in the game.

There's not just ONE quest though. There's dozens (hundreds perhaps). It would be a half assed multi-player mode if all you did was run around with a friend and kill stuff. It's better that the time and money used for something half-assed like that be used for a better single player experience.

the elder scrolls games have allways been single player only games and they do a good job of proveing the Fact that a game does not need co-op or multiplayer to be a full game
in my opinion things like multiplayer and co-op should stay out of the elder scrolls

The point of the thread was research, my friend really wants this to happen because of our interest in wanting to slay a dragon together. Although the fan base of the elders scrolls does not seem to like the idea :P
