Is there lore on werewolf vampire hunters

Post » Thu Apr 18, 2013 11:06 am

I've looked but haven't come across anything about it. So I was wondering did I miss a source or is this something that hasn't happened officially in lore? Would Hircine order his hounds to hunt vampires or he be wary of enraging Molag Bal? I ask this because picked up one of my old characters who happens to be a werewolf vampire hunter and a loyal follower of Hircine. So before I kick into Dawnguard DLC I wanted to know if I could realistically RP that Hircine order his faithful hound to hunt the Volkihar Clan.

Nothing suggest Hircine would encourage his Werewolves to hunt Vampires. However Molag Bal has certainly pissed Hircine off before. Undead werewolves in ESO. So it isn't exactly a hige stretch that it could happen. RP whatever you want.

The Dawnguard won't be too receiving of a Werewolf among-st their ranks.

However, joining the Volkihar clan will force you to become a Vampire Lord...

Solution? Kill them both. The Daedra Lords aren't exactly best brothers in a big happy family. It's not too far of a stretch for Hircine ordering you to mess with Bal's "creations". After all, Vampires are worthy prey indeed. Hunting a rival apex predator would make Hircine happy I think.

You can join the Dawnguard in the beginning and use them as a means to an end. Just don't get all beast mode in their presence and they will be none the wiser.

Hircine would order his pets to hunt worthy prey. As far as we know, he doesn't make a habit of having vampires hunted, but that doesn't mean he never would. Though he wouldn't do it on virtue of them being vampires; some vampires may be worthy being hunted, others wouldn't.

Exactly. It would be for the glory of the hunt. This is what Hircine wants from his followers. You can have your own personal grudge of course. Hircine will be happy for the thrill of the hunt nonetheless.

Likewise, I'd be very surprised if there weren't any vampiric covens that worshiped Hircine in the first place. Some vampires certainly treat their bloodlust as a hunt of sorts.

In the games npc werewolves and vampires don't seek each other out unless they so happen to spawn near each other. In lore like the others said there aren't any instances either. However it is quite possible that future conflicts between vampires and werewolves could occur or past ones could be unveiled. This is because they are both apex predators with the same food source living creatures with a heartbeat. Werewolves consume the flesh of a living creature while vampires the blood.

To summarize:

It's something Hircine might do, go for it.

Keep in mind though, the Dawnguard are an order of extra-mortal hunters. They won't like the fact that you're a werewolf any more than the vampires they're slaying, but you could say, be sent by Hircine and be a werewolf undercover and whenever the dawngaurd aren't in your immediate presence, tear off some vampire heads with your fangs.

I'd always thought that.
