Is There a Method of Changing the In-Game Year?

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 9:29 pm

I'm a bit of a roleplaying, storytelling freak. I've been taking the journal dumps from my Morrowind directory and saving them. I've just finished nearly all of the major content of Morrowind and am almost ready to progress with Oblivion, but before I enter Cyrodiil fully, I wish to play the Leyawiin mod for Morrowind that was originally a part of Cyrodiil: Dawn of Oblivion. The mod description indicates it takes place 18 months prior to the beginning of Oblivion. I'm at about year 430 in Morrowind, now and...yeah I want to jump on up to the 27th of Last Seed 3E432.
I know it's possible via Construction Set to change the year when starting a new game, but I really would like to know if there is a console command I missed or a script that can be added and ran to change the year and date (or just even the year, if that's all I can get). I realize I could simply edit the text file when I copy the Journal dump, and I may just resolve to do that, but for roleplaying purposes I'd like to attempt a method as described above. I did some Google searches and came up short. The keyword "Year" just kept turning up Game of the Year.

Thanks to anyone who can help and reads this. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

I remember reading that there is a way to change the year...or you could just wait for about 600 days.

Yeah, I entertained the idea of waiting and quickly decided my real-life time would be better spent, lol.

Do you remember where you read this?

I think it was on the console command section of Morrowind's UESP page.

you could open the game console and type:
show yearshow monthshow day
to see values, and/or open wait/rest menu to verify month name.
To set desired values, use the set variable console commands, e.g.
set year to 432set month to 7set day to 27
http://www.imperial-library.info/content/calendar-tamriel on Morrowind months problem, Morrowind Code Patch fix should solve it, so 0=Morning Star, 11=Evening Star.
