Is there a way to make a book or a list on your spell tab, to tell you the ingredients you have discovered, and what their properties are?

If someone finds this ridiculously easy, and could put it into a book you carry around that updates with you like your game stats would.

I would find that incredibly valuable.

I remember some people tried to make mods for earlier Bethesda games that would put some kind of journal in the game that could be used to make notes about places you'd discovered, items, etc. No one could get those to work properly though. I guess it's quite a bit harder than it would seem to be.

That's definitely not true. I'm pretty sure this mod worked flawlessly for oblivion: http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/15294/. I know I used a journal mod in Oblivion that was great, and I'm pretty sure it was that one. It felt like part of the original game by the time it was finished being updated.

Regarding the OP: This does some of what you're looking for - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/18210/. I haven't used it, so I can't vouch for it. Exercise normal caution.

The efforts I remembered were from the Fallout games, and it could be that the authors simply lost interest. I was looking for something similar myself, and really couldn't find anything, and there were a couple of threads around here discussing the difficulty of creating them, so I just sort of moved on. That was a few years ago.

I am not talking about something you personally scribe into, but something like when the, affect discovery is displayed on top left in its short flash, you can have it pasted to a categorical collection by individual specification.
