I like to play with the nights reasonably dark but like it when I return to a town and there is plenty of light so i can see it in the distance. Thought there might have been a mod that adds more light sources to towns? I know about illunminated windows and have it running.

Modman's Window Lights adds quite a few hanging lanterns around Vivic, I can't remember what all it adds around other locations, but I do remember it adding a lot of light statics around Vivic at least.........its incompatible with Piratelord's redesigned Vivic hower, so I don't use it.

Try TML - The Lightning Mod by Sensei. It darkens the nights and other dark locations and makes light sources stronger.
And Window Glow by Max aka Nobody, it illuminates windows in every town during the nights.

Combine the two mods and the towns glow up nicley during very dark nights. Its really epic looking. And if you want you can use a bloom shader with MGE to really get things going.
